The disallowed goal is not such an issue yet... but if this games stays at 2-1...

I am watching on BBC, but popped over to Dutch TV to see what Guus Hiddink had to say about it.

Guus said: either the video ref must be introduced ASAP or Blatter must leave.

Sepp Blatter is the one keeping the technology out of this multi billion international industry.

I wonder if the linesman has seen the replay. If so, it must influence him for the 2nd half.
Maybe England get an easy penalty...

suddenly after the germans have whined about it since 1966 ... now it's worth talking about ? .... "karma is a *****" though ;)

i totally agree with at least having goal line referees

They should just put a positioning system inside the ball. That way, errors like the one that just happened won't ever happen anymore. Don't understand why this hasn't been done yet...

It is 44 years on.... it would have been a lot tougher and more expensive back then.
And it wasn't such a multi-billion industry back then.

Imagine losing the CL final 2-1 but having a goal disallowed that way.

OTOH.... let's heat up the debate:
- What about marginal offsides?
- What about a foul missed by the ref which leads to a goal?
... i.e. even if we have the goal line issue resolved, the next issue will come up.

Nice free kick by Gerrard!

Well, thy didn't have instant replay video technology back in '66. They do now to avoid it ever happening again, so Blatter will be under fire now.

i wonder if the english team can recover from this 3:1

and again a counter attack

edit: make that "again again"
and thank god i didn't drop Müller from my fantasy squad... 2 goals 1 assist ... i'm biting my ass for not making him captain

It really does change the game. Engalnd are all up trying to get an equalizer they leave themselves way open. Ditto again now.

Barry was beaten too easily for the 4th. And Barry gave the ball away for the 3rd. Barry = weakest link.

Agreed. If it were 2-2 at half time, we would have had a "normal" tentative 2nd half.
Germany might still have won it, but not so easily as now.

The Referees suck in this WC. Yesterday I watched Ghana tackle players all day long and today a guy barely taps a ball and they blow a whistle ?

This thing is rigged by FIFA.

Ooh, what happened to England? They're falling apart like a Chinese motorcycle.

Apart from the second half of the first half of this game, England have NOT played well.
The PL is gr8, probably the best league in the world... but it's not because of the English players I'm afraid.

Of course there are gr8 English players, but not enough to make a gr8 England team.

at least the germans have by mercy by taking off a tired özil and replace him with the top scoring german player of the bundesliga

if england doesn't score this willl be the highest world cup loss of the english team ... of all time

And England's defence are using their cloaking device, unfortunately on themselves. Please let this be the last time we see Terry and Johnson.

Congratulations Germany for taking advantage of a shaky defence, shame England couldn't do the same.

Cheers,
OW
