So how do we all feel now that media darling Lionel Messi has uttered the negrito word? Of course when outcast Louis Suarez used it, the world and their dog threw the book at him. Now, it's simply latin American colloquial language? No?

It couldn't possibly be true that those angelic lips could utter such words

Rumours are that Henry will stick with Kenny but cut his transfer kitty.

That could turn out well or really bad for LFC next season. Time will tell i suppose.

Liverpool have unveiled their new kit for next season, now made by Warrior rather than Adidas...

...

Good effort, Warrior.

Like to see them wear that to a picnic or hoedown! :p

No.

Fizzoid - Smalling :(. Starting to struggle for centre backs.

Cheers,

Sounds like a week old cake

true .. for much of the season Cologne was carried by Podolski alone and they still got regelated after a disastrous season ...

while they always where in the lower part of the table the last seasons they never play so bad
hardly what i call positive work reference for Solbakken, ... i was expecting a 1 year break from first and second leagues for a while

I knew there would be trouble over the new Liverpool crest. It isn't even a "new" crest, but it has still managed to be seen as controversial by some. There is a certain amount of hypersensitivity involved here. I really think that making a big stink of it in the press was not the best move for the Hillsbrough Justice Campaign.

But I would never pass muster as a 'true' Liverpool supporter in Liverpool itself so I'll say no more.

I think this is clear evidence that all South Americans are racist.

My guess is badly, if it's true. Let's assume for a minute that Carroll is massively improved next season and scores 15+ goals, and that Lucas gets back into the business of solidifying the midfield. Even in that scenario, Downing remains a weak spot and Shelvey/Spearing are still squad players rather than Champions League-quality starters. Not to mention Henderson and Adam, who are again looking like squad players at best (and Adam doesn't even look that good).

We need to strengthen. If FSG don't trust Kenny with the money, then he must be replaced. We need another striker and a creative central midfielder. And probably a replacement for Downing. Adam should be sold, and possibly Downing and/or Henderson as well. At this point I'd take Aquilani over Adam any day.

In MLS news, Columbus has booked a friendly with Stoke City this July in Columbus. Back in 1967, Stoke City was imported in its entirety to be Cleveland, Ohio's home team in the United Soccer Association league. A revamped lineup (not Stoke City this time) played in the 1968 NASL season - beating Brazilian club Santos (led by none other than Pele himself) in an exhibition game in Cleveland! :D

Apparently Stoke can do it on a warm, sunny afternoon in Cleveland.

Dortmund thrash a full-strenght Bayern 5-2 to lift the German cup. Omen for Chelseal perhaps.

The Sun are reporting that Rangers have definitely been sold to ex-Sheffield United chairman Charles Green. Given that I don't trust The Sun and the many twists and turns in this saga I'm not quite believing it yet. The most welcome part of the story is that it won't be a liquidation or newco set up so that gets over the embarrassing questions being asked about club history and membership of the SPL.

Joey Barton.

'Nuff said

EDIT: Oh dear City...i guess Fergie will get his "stupid result" as things stand...

EDIT2:...or NOT!

Unfortunately it looks like we're going to have to put up with QPR in our division next year, the dirty, time-wasting, match spoiling, injury feigning, new right-back injuring, mascot plagiarising, glove wearing cheats.

...and BREATHE.

Phew.

What an end to the season!

Congrats to City, fully deserved.

Watch out Fergie.

Now that is a close finish.

That late collapse in the 6-1 loss to City cost United in the end.

Shame to see Bolton go down...looks like you will be facing Stuart Holden in the Championship next season, Jaffa. I hope your boys treat him better than Nigel De Jong and Johnny Evans did.

EDIT:
In another remarkable finish, Juventus have finished their season as champions of Italy without losing a single match.

Oh my god. City were dead and buried and I was joking with my dad that he should stick £10 on City winning the title when they were 2-1 down... Shame he didn't!!

Arsenal managed to hold on to that third place, but Spurs fans now have to hope that Bayern beat Chelsea and not only take the CL title, but knock Abramovich's little bauble out of the competition for next season.

Well Bayern were thrashed by Dortmund last night and they (Bayern) were at full strenght so there might be some hope.

Potential problem is Chelsea won't be at full strength for the match. Their best midfielder Ramires will be the standout miss.

I'm happy we finished third not just because we pipped Spurs but because it gives us a better bargaining chip in the transfer window and a better chance of holding on to RVP...who by the way gets the Golden Boot ahead of Rooney after all. Also like to thank Pat Rice for his 48 yrs of service. True Gunner.

Still, City have the best bargaining chip now...in addition to the Sheik's billions.

Manchester City's totally crazy way to win the title certain perked me up--especially when I saw it live on ESPN2 in HD. It's the most dramatic thing I've seen in professional sports since the final day of the regular season in Major League Baseball on September 27, 2011, when a couple of very dramatic finishes determined two teams who got the wildcard positions for the playoffs.
