Barton:

He deserves about 8 games, the 12 is excessive; the Norwich City red was a joke. Also, Tevez should've been sent for his part in the build up to the elbow, and Kompany booked for his bumping. But why look at others when we have Barton .

Cheers,
OW
I certainly think Tevez shouldn't have gotten away scott free, but after you've smacked one player in the face you don't then go and floor another. He needs to learn a lesson, and I don't think it's too harsh. The guys an idiot and either he learns a lesson or doesn't play. If you don't want to to the time, then don't do the crime! Simples!

Well that didn't take long. Guardiola has just cancelled his year-long vacation and put himself back on the market.

So, let the bidding wars commence.

Sorry Di Matteo, so close yet so far in the end. At least you'll forever be a legend.

Shame for Di Matteo, but am coming round more and more to the idea of Guardiola going to Chelsea- with it being Mourinho's old club think of the drama:eek:

The accompanying banner on the Sky Sports News website was rather splendid...

woeful performance put in by sheffield united and huddersfield town. glad the pigs lost. well done... eerrrrr... clumsily done terriers.

I thought i was the only one who found the England match mind numbingly dull. Went to do some laundry instead.

Columbus 2-1 Chicago

Ah, sweet victory. I actually made it to Columbus for this one, on a beautiful sunny day that topped 90 degrees. A Floggy Molly concert took place in the stadium after the match, and the concert was included with the ticket to the game. We scored two early goals and ultimately held off the Fire despite serious heat-induced fatigue late on. We are finally showing some consistency in offense.

Overall a good result, and I got to see Crew legend (and current Crew "Brand Ambassador") Frankie Hejduk dancing in the crowd and onstage ripping it up with Flogging Molley after the match. He pretty much has the run of the place. four of the band were resplendent in Crew shirts, and we all went out onto the pitch for the concert. It all had a carnival air about it. :)

Ace penalty! and, if I may, this one which has been posted here before but classic

Also in the news, Chelsea has been painting the world blue. celebrity fans eh

I'm almost disappointed! The derby games are always the highlight of the season. Still, if you're a United fan it's got to hurt you got beaten into second place by your fiercest rivals and then beaten by another local team to end your promotion :p

Hazard was becoming annoying and egotistical despite never having kicked a ball in the EPL. Glad its sorted now and he can shut up.

Goodluck to him at Chelsea.

I believe Osama Bin Laden was an Arsenal fan – clearly there's something about London clubs that attract the support of despots, dictators and other ne'er do wells. ;)

Authoritarian Rwandan ruler Paul Kagame is a Gooner and it's rumoured Idi Amin was a keen fan of now defunct London non-leaguers Hayes FC.

Cuba's former dictator Fidel Castro bucks the trend though. "One journalist gave him an Arsenal shirt with 'Castro' on the back," said a Cuban diplomat in the Daily Mail. "The trouble is Fidel doesn't like football. And he doesn't like Arsenal."

So Phil Jagielka doesn't make the 23, doesn't spit his dummy out and announce he's retiring from international football if he's not getting regular caps and then is rewarded by a place in the 23.

What happens next, he comes out with comments like this:
On expectations that should be placed on England at Euro 2012, Jagielka adds: "I'm sure if we win a game we'll be favourites and if we lose we'll be a waste of space. It's easier without expectation and hopefully we'll fly under the radar. We haven't won anything for a number of years and maybe that's because we don't deserve to."

He's being far too sensible! Sorry Phil, can't see YOUR England career lasting long ;)

...

A couple of tournaments down the road? If someone doesn't want to continue to waste their time, fair play.

Can Fuzzy14 dream of transfers?
