Incidentally, if any of you have not yet checked out the highlights of the Argentina 4-3 Brazil "friendly" from Saturday, do so...it's probably the best game you'll see this month, Euros included. ;) Spoiler: Messi scores a hat trick.

Everton don't have a lot of money, but they do have a good squad and Moyes is an excellent manager. it would definitely be a blow to lose Moyes.

Blow is an understatement if Everton lose Moyes and his eye for talent/thrifty spending, they're ending up in championship if not lower with the current state of budget Everton has.

Well, to be fair we've not seen any actual evidence yet that Moyes is interested in leaving Everton; we only know that Harry is gone and Spurs spend a lot more money than Everton.

I hope for Everton's sake that Moyes hangs around, but if Spurs offer him a big Transfer War Chest™, he might be tempted away.

yeah it would've been great if Hummels solo went in, he really desvered that...

interesting will be how Löw changes his squad for the Denmark game: Boateng is banned for the game so he needs a right fullback (i doubt he will switch Lahm on the right side again after his great game)
also all the young guns (Schürrle,Götze, Reuss) have been benchwarming without a single minute of time on the pitch... i hope at least one of them gets a shot

The Dutch are in terrible danger. Never would have guessed that. But they can still go through if they defeat the Portuguese heavily.

The Netherlands has no body to blame but themselves. The team turned up for the championships as if they had a divine right to be there.

The population of the Netherlands was so sure of winning that they started to paint the town orange. The newspapers here totally underestimated the opposition.

Last night on one of the talk programes a commentator said "It's like we took a leaf out of the English teams play book":p

Arrogant players, Fans who expect far to much, and a viral toxic press. :(

So what you're saying is The Netherlands are the new England :)

You just need 2 Unlimited to reform now and release "1 Lion"

1 Lion on my shirt, 24 years of hurt... la la la...

all the offensive football from the dutch in the past has more or less turned into a course, since everybody expects absolute magic up front all the other aspects of the game somehow have turned into a stepchild in the dutch game

just look at the dutch defenders: van der wiel: good moving forward but in the back average at best,
all the centrals defenders: for this level of international foot simply nowhere near good enough
willems on the left: such a young inexpierenced defender in his 2nd game having to play against the germans in a tournament
de Jong: an agressive and solid worker but tactically naive when matched against a Player like Özil who is a master in "off the ball" movements
van Bommel: one of the all time greats but IMHO at his age being the only great tactical players on the defense, was simply too much

and up front the dutch all hoped for that single magic moment from an individual great player, while having too many players who simply didn't track back for the defense as well as they should

IMHO Kuyt should have been a starter for this difficult game: a hard working winger who helps a lot in the back and also closes down opposition very well

and when Van der Vaart was substituted in for Van Bommel, they became more dangerous up front but also completly handed over the central midfield untill the end which led to the absurd situation that the last 10 minutes the Germans could rather easily run down the clock opposed to the Portugal game

van Marwijk has been critizied in the netherlands for playing too defensive against the danish ... that's true but against Germany even with those 2 defensive midfield players they weren't _enough_
IMHo van der Vaart should have been the better/more stable choice in the center compared to Sneijder

Meanwhile, it seems that next season we'll also be doubling up as the USS Enterprise's team...

sponsored by Cash Converters as well...
Don't get me started on that one again. Really, don't. :D

Hopefully this will be the final year of that deal – it was for two with an option of a third but hopefully that option won't be taken up given the negative reaction it's got. Also, this is the last season of our deal with Adidas so unless it's renewed we're going to have a new maker of our polyester rags for 2013-14.

Do Primark or Greggs do sponsorship deals? Perhaps they might be interested...

I think if Moyes does leave it will be either for Man United, Arsenal or Chelsea, I dont think he would be interested in a job outside those 3. Stranger things have happened though.

what a weak performance by italy ... 1 goal ahead and they gave the game away to the croats ... which means they now are dependent on other results besides their own to get into the next round..
looks like the dutch aren't the only team in danger of getting dropped early on

it really shows how the smaller squads can compete against the big nations today... nearly all groups are rather level: at this moment only the Germans haven't lost any points and the only other squad which could achieve the same is the ukraine in group D

If they manage a +3 against Ireland only a 2-2 draw between spain and croatia would leave them out, and that's if Spain beats Ireland today and ties croatia next game, a 0-0 tie would leave Spain or Croatia out, a 1-1 would leave out the one with the worst goal difference against Ireland or less goals scored against Ireland not sure which.

Not easy for Italy but they should beat Ireland.

1-1. England now need another Carroll header...Johnson back to his old self in defense.

Make that 2-1. Disaster for the Three Lions.
