and the Greeks are through ... please who ever wins group B: just hammer them out of the stadium ...
Well well well...didn't see that one coming.
Shades of the Champions League...Greece are the international version of Chelsea.
Once Greece bunkered down Russia looked totally out of ideas and almost halfhearted in their attacks. They became confused and frustrated.
A Greece-Germany quarterfinal looks likely. I have to think Germany will batter them.
I didn't see the Russian match, but to go out after a win and a draw... that's the Scottish way to fail.
If the Netherlands wins against Portugal they could go to the quarter finals with two losses and one win.
Some times there's just no justice.![]()
not only the ukrainians, but a whole bunch of teams did this, which drives me absolutely crazy. I hope that this will change in the quarter finals, someone needs to take a chance from out of the box.
That's only if they win by two or more and Denmark doesn't tie or win.
A denmark 1-0 win and Portugal 1-0 win would be sweet![]()
a denmark tie could happen but a win would be a massive upset .. especially as if there is a team which never takes a game lightly it's Germany (i suspect they will give some of the younger fast attacking players a chance to shine)... also they want to win because "they could stay at their current camp in Danzig without traveling so much"roll eyes
edit: a germany - denmark tie and the netherlands winning against portugal would leave both NED and POR out
Greece is very lucky that the first tie-breaker is head to head game and not goal difference like in the world cup

I suspect no changes in the line-up except either Höwedes or Bender in the starting lineup for Boateng. Podolski making his hundreth match in the national dress at age 27(youngest european player to play that many games), I still see a chance for Schürrle or Reus being subbed in though.
For me personally it would be an injustice if the Netherlands goes through to the next round.
Going through on goal difference and luck, we have to be better than that.![]()
it would. funny that there is a chance. but won't they have to score like 5 or 6 goals to make it happen?
they are @ -2 GD.
i would't be surprised if they won. but getting through is going to take a miracle.
If the Netherlands beat Portugal by more than one goal and Germany beat Denmark, the Dutch go through. All three teams save Germany will be level on points, with a win and a loss against the other two. In this situation, goal difference in the matches among the teams in question is used and that would give the Dutch the advantage.it would. funny that there is a chance. but won't they have to score like 5 or 6 goals to make it happen?

I think.![]()
Sounds right to me. I think the Dutch really have a decent chance of going though. But their defense is a major weak point, so they need to show a big improvement on the pitch. And needing help from Germany is definitely a humiliation for the Dutch.
I predict they will concede at least one and will need to score three or more to build the requisite goal difference to go through.
With de Jong on the same pitch, it's almost a given.i wouldn't be surprised if we see at least one red card today... Pepe is long overdue![]()
