Thought the same but Arsenal put in pretty much the best 60mins of their entire season thus far. Barnstorming performance...but ran out of steam sadly.

A four goal deficit is a huge hole to climb out of. If it makes you feel any better, Milan won't be winning the Champions League this season anyway.

I know that. I also now know Milan weren't as great as thought at Siro, we were just shockingly bad. Which somewhat makes it more painful but overall...comforting to know

On the positives; defensively we were the best i've seen this season, Ox continues to be a revelation, Rosicky seems to have have found his old form/talent again and Walcott isn't too far behind.

A little more confident about 4th place now.

Shame. But loss of Walcott and The Ox + RVP miss proved the difference. Oh well.

See the RVP chance more as a good save than a miss, the AC Milan pass back to Szczesny  Great effort, just ran out of puff. Takes me back to Manchester United v FC Porto in the 1970s; lost 4-0 away, won the home leg 5-2 - had to go to bed and got the result from the paper in the morning, a moody day at school:eek:

Other news - congratulations to Pogba's agent. I know clubs win - all but stealing players - and lose, but agents' influence over young players?

Oh, and Chelsea are going to win everything now.

Cheers,
OW

Given the many horrors of the 90s in terms of kit design, that USA kit is actually somewhat restrained. Also, I've always like the Sampdoria kits myself.

Horizontal worn by a player who later featured at Sampdoria - used to have the card:

Is there a way to add an attachment when editing?

He definitely looks best with facial hair.

Just saw this article about the 90s Fiorentina shirt with swastikas on it. Comedy Gold! Somebody really wasn't paying attention there.

Must be nice to be able to let your two best youth prospects in years wander off within months of each other. Oh well, at this rate United are going to have to get another five seasons out of Scholes and Giggs.

one has to keep in mind that Milan didn't have Seedorf, Pato and Boateng in their Squad because of injuries .. and Boateng was the best player in San Siro

Rangers will go into liquidation
No they won't

I don't know what's going on. The club have to save £1m per month so the administrators have asked players to take pay cuts of 25-75%. Two players have already taken (unpaid) redundancy and walked.

Gregg Wylde said:
I volunteered to walk with no redundancy package today to help the other people in the club who have families, like the kitchen staff. I offered to walk away yesterday and the club told me today that they would accept that offer. At the moment I have nowhere to go and I don't have another club. I don't know what is going to happen next but I thought it was important to play my part in saving Rangers.

A very decent chap, all the best to him.

So, facial hair and black boots, where do we stand on shorts?

Fiorentina; probably religious, unlikely to be fascism in Italy - religion and hardcore porn is where it's at.

Disappointing to lose the talent, but the attitude goes with them.

May be too strong for Emperor JT.

Definitely the horrible attitude in the case of Ravel Morrison. Pogba was by all accounts a good kid, seems like his new agent sunk his tentacles into him and really influenced his thinking.

Oh well, let's hope Ryan Tunnicliffe doesn't get wooed by Barca next.

Good grief, Barcelona absolutely ran riot, tearing Bayer Leverkusen to shreds. Messi with five.

Short, to show off the legs.

EDIT:[beaten by daneoni] Poldi does indeed look set to join Arsenal in the summer. If it happens, it's a bit of a coup for the Gunners. This is the kind of signing that will help keep players like RVP from doing a Fabregas.

Arsenal is beginning to look like a real Franco-German affair. Maybe they can pick Ballack up cheap on a free? :D

Hopefully the deal actually goes through smoothly and we keep RVP too. I also like him because he doesn't dance around the goal and pretty much shoots on sight, plus he can play on the wings. Ballack would make a good squad player but seems to have an ego which Wenger will not like.

With an ego like that, you'd think he'd been to Chelsea at some point in his career...

My shorts preference - big, baggy and post War style, as modelled by the Maestro.

Classic style - but they only go well with those classic haircuts.

Frankly, I like pretty much everything but the stuff from the 90s.

EDIT: APOEL Nicosia have knocked out Lyon on penalties and progress to the quarterfinals of the Champions leage. That's a pretty huge upset, even if Lyon aren't quite the team they were a few years ago. Who'd have thought we'd see a team from Cyprus in the CL quarterfinals? I hope they don't draw one of the Spanish sides.

Torres should have taken the penalty.

I'm beginngin to think he just needs to get the heck out of Chelsea. Maybe we can pick him up cheap in the offseason, in a three-way swap that sees Ba head to Chelsea and Big Andy return to Newcastle...:D

In all seriousness, I think he might need to return to Spain to find form.

I was thinking he should play in mls during off season on loan. It won't happen of course but he could crush it here.

Chelsea need to settle in with a manager. It's ridiculous at this point. I don't think avb was the right one but I do think they've been quick to shut doors.

I'd take Torres over carrol every time. At least he's a play maker and has passion. His form will return. He should see rooneys sports shrink ;)

Jut watched the highlights of the Barca match. Messi is just pure magic. Sure, he does get world-class service, but I've never seen anyone play like that. He is simply sensational and a living legend at the peak of his powers.

I'd love to see Torres don a Columbus shirt <dreams>. Not gonna happen, sadly.

I have nothing against Chelsea, but Abramovich deserves to watch his side plummet into midtable after this sacking.

Torres, back when he was lighting the league on fire, would have made a deadly partnership with Suarez. I think their talents would complement each other.

Talking of shorts and world class players. Here's a picture of some bloke wearing the famous 70's short shorts, clearly to the admiration of 3 Wednesday defenders ;)

Mancini has officially started batting his eyes at RVP. At £220k a week i don't see how Wenger can compete. Its down to RVP himself now.

Read that last night. So Dzeko hasn't set the PL alight, but add Balotelli and Aguero into the mix and someone's going to be upset
