Sorry.....didn't notice this post. We don't have to talk about it.....we all know who won.:D

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this beauty of a post-game interview:

YouTube: video

I didn't see this game, but I think it's a bit much for a goalie to take all the blame. I think we tend to do that to ourselves way too much. It's a team sport, and all are to blame for losses or take credit for wins. I am constantly told that by teammates.

The Leafs beat the league-leading Penguins tonight 4-3. A solid effort, which saw Kessel score his league-leading 10th goal, and Tim Connolly score his first as a Leaf (in his second game played). Reimer is still on the IR, so Gustavsson started in nets and played his best game so far.

Yeah, I wasn't so sure about Connolly coming back to a team that was winning, especially when Kessel was so good without him.

Now I see that it doesn't really matter who Phil plays with. Just get him the puck wide open like that, and he'll score. ;)

And to top it off, Mats Sundin was in attendance and got a long standing ovation: http://livenews.thestar.com/Event/Live_Leafs_vs_Penguins_Gameday/17931660

Sundin totally deserves it. He was an excellent captain, and always had a fantastic attitude while playing on the worst Leaf teams in their history.

Your right, bottom line is the D has to play a lot BETTER in front of him;)

am i the only bruins fan who doesn't hate the habs? the rivalry is fun, and makes the games really exciting, but at the end of the day i think they're a great team.

last year's playoffs for example. the bruins v canadiens series was easily my favourite.

Yes.

Points for honesty. Clearly this isn't all his fault but some of the attempts were not good.

I'm liking what I'm seeing!:D

Your boys are playing well. I'll be up there in Canada on Tuesday this week. Unfortunately I won't be staying long enough to see the Bs come to town later this week.

My Tuesday 11/1 tickets for the Bruins are up for grabs. Let me know if you are interested. Face value.

Who watched the Battle of Ontario last night?

http://video.senators.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=131732

Awesome goal. Perfect timing.

Yep. Sweet pass.

That was sweet. The Sens are on a quite a roll. And, they are 3rd overall in total goals (36) though they are letting up a crap load as well (45! -- for last!). With those numbers it's possible that EVEN THE BRUINS MIGHT BE ABLE TO SCORE AN F ING GOAL TONIGHT AGAINST THEM.
Ok, now I feel a little better.

B's are currently near the bottom with 21 GF.

Glad they're doing better. I was afraid I'd be embarrassed for Craig Anderson when I train with him again next summer. Good for them.

Yeah, I like the Senators. I can't explain why, but they are my favorite Eastern team.

Well, Anderson is just a great guy all around. I don't know of too many pros who offer their knowledge to us amateurs for next to no money. I learned more from him in three days than I learned from other coaches and players in months. Such a nice person too. Can't wait to train with him again- although the last time nearly put me in the hospital. ;)

They were talking about the surprising Sens yesterday on HNIC radio. David Amber said that Spezza is on pace for a 115 point season, which he said is pretty unlikely. There's no way he'll keep up that pace.

Anderson is playing a lot better than he did in the first few games of the season. As long as he plays well, the Sens have a chance. Without good outstanding goaltending, they'll start to plummet.

Among the Leafs, Oilers, and Sens, the two guys on the radio (Stelleck and Amber) thought that the Sens will be the team not in the playoffs at season's end.

I like Anderson. I HATE the Sens.:p

Yeah, until the Wings move to the East next season. Then you'll learn to hate them.:D

I'm loving that the Jets have been winning lately.:)

I always thought it was odd that Detroit was in the Western, but I think Columbus will move, not Detroit. I have only seen proposals, not any final realignments.

Me too. I have been watching the Jets games, and I'd like to see them do well.

It is odd that the Wings are in the West. It was odd when the Leafs were in the West as well. It just doesn't make sense.

We'll see what happens, but from what I've read/heard, the Wings feel like they're owed the move back to the East by the NHL. They've been lobbying for it for years.

Bettman would never let the Original Six re-unite.

It would make it too hard to sell the other games.

IMO.

Very possible. I know that a bunch of the Wings' rivals in the West have lobbied the NHL not to move them, as they are a big draw for many teams. So, it's not a Bettman thing. Plus, the Board needs to vote on it, and I believe they need a 2/3 majority vote for something like this.

hey boys.. haven't been around for a while, been on vacation and such.

my boys have played like **** for the first month... but i'm going to the game tonight. lets hope this can be the start of the turn around :D

I think if the Wings get moved to the east, they'd likely be in the Finals nearly every year.

It's certainly up for debate, but I've always felt that the west (including the Wings) have been the better conference. The Wings could easily dominate the east better than they do in the West.

Dear NHL Players, fans, coaches and executives

Please excuse Joe Thornton from yesterday's game-he, like the rest of his team left his brain on the Island, so any words he said are not actual representations of the San Jose sharks, its team or fans.

And to Sheriff Shanny-

any punishment you see fit we accept-
you won't see any "free jumbo" signs this time.

Thank you

The Sens have to get the defense in order.

It's simply a talent issue. They're way too early in their rebuild to be expected to play well on a consistent basis.

Leafs play the Devils tonight, and Brodeur is making his return. Typically, the Leafs provide an opportunity for new/returning players to do something special. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Marty earns a shutout. I'm hoping this new Leafs team will break that trend and win tonight.

Woo hoo! Leafs played a great game, and beat Brodeur and the Devils 5-3.

Joffrey Lupul with the hat trick in the second period! He scored all three goals in 7 minutes 22 seconds. What a fantastic pickup by Burke. Lupul was a salary equalizer throw in, in order to bring the Ducks' salaries down to make room for Beauchemin's salary (Jake Gardener was the player Burke was primarily after in that trade, and he's turning into a hell of a player as well). Everyone counted Lupul out after his multiple back surgeries and infections as a result of the surgery. I'm glad that he's been given a second chance. He's been clicking like crazy with Kessel (who added a couple more assists to his scoring lead- 10G, 10A so far in 12 games).

Go Leafs Go!:D
