Stupid NHL blacked out the Red Wings tonight. It's one thing to black out games when watching them for free over the air, but when you pay the NHL directly for their content, they shouldn't black out ANY games.

They want to manipulate their ads to a different demographic, I guess?

Who the **** knows?? It's all about money anyway. It always is.

Yeah, who knows why really. If they think blacking out games in order to get me to buy a ticket to a game, they're sorely mistaken. I'll not buy one just out of pure rebellion and spite. They care more about money than the fans who give them their money.

Anyway now I have to watch Toronto pummel Columbus.

Oh?? Perhaps the game is/was not sold-out soon enough??

Anyway, now I have to watch Toronto pummel Columbus.

From your mouth, to the Buds ears. :D

I blame Ron Wilson for tonight's loss. Why didn't Gustavsson start? Because Scrivens won his first NHL game ever last game? Saturday night, in Toronto, shown live across the country on CBC, against the reigning Cup champs. Just a bad call.

Gustavsson has been playing well, and deserved to start tonight. I'm not saying we would have won, but at the least it would have been a more respectable loss. I hope this doesn't screw with Gustavsson's head.

C'mon when a team loses 7-0 it's more than just the coach. Where was the defense? Where was the offense? Sorry I find it difficult to blame the coach for blown plays, blown coverages and leaving the slot full of brains all night long.

Yes, but it all started with the decision to start the wrong goalie. On a Sat night against the Cup champs, you start the guy who has been in the league for a few years and has been playing very well lately, not the AHL call up who is only with the team because our #1 is recovering from a concussion.

All of the players get a piece of the blame, but Wilson deserves thr largest slice for screwing us before the game even started.

Are the BlueJackets really that bad:eek: I feel bad for them:p It was good to Jeff Carter there last night:DNot on the ice but in a suite;)

That last one must have been really messy. :p

Here's my assessment of the game FWIW (I finally just watched it).

Leafs
  • I'm assuming they started Scrivens because the B's have had no offense and they needed to make sure that this kid gets some net time in case something happens to Gustavsson. Against the last place team this was probably a decent thought that didn't work. But, I don't think it was his fault entirely.
  • Turnovers killed them. They gave up the puck even MORE than the Bruins.
  • Defense was a disaster
  • Kessel was a non-factor again. When he did get an op he missed the net.
  • It was probably tough getting up for this game because the Bruins have played so badly until now. Looked like a cakewalk.
  • Honestly, they looked like the Bruins have for the last few games

Bruins
  • Seguin was lights out. Best game of his career.
  • B's played desperate hockey -- that always helps. Easier to get up for a game against the division leaders
  • Thomas played extremely well if not great. Had one or two fantastic saves and is still in top form. I bet we see Tuukka tonight against NYI.
  • Lucic produced. Some of this had to do with goaltending on the other side but he still put some numbers up. Krejci did as well but I don't give him much credit for it
  • Bruins D played pretty well keeping Kessel at bay. Chara still turns the puck over too much in the defensive zone for my liking

We'll see how both teams move on from here. Leafs have the Panthers tomorrow and the Panthers can put up a fight. It will be important for the Leafs to get their **** together. The Bruins have the [equally pathetic] Islanders. If they don't take it seriously the Islanders will deliver a beating and send them back to their therapists (or the bars).

Edit: I haven't watched it closely but I thought Phaneuf should have gotten something for that elbow... I know the players say it was good but wow...

Mooney, mind giving an in-depth look at the two loses to the HABS last week? :D

Yeah, the Habs had more goals than the Bruins in both events and Subban is still a punk that has no respect for the game.

I hope you aren't too proud of how the Habs played because that level of effort isn't going to get them that far. Aiming to beat the Bruins this season doesn't really set the bar too high. But, at the end of the day it was a whipping and the Bruins took the worst of it.

Plakanec is an incredibly hockey player.

Tyler Seguin is scary good. Tied with Stamkos for 9th in points (15), tied for 7th in goals (8), 1st in +/- (+11). Superstar in the making... Boston hasn't seen this kind of talent in years.
