Are there any stats out there on how often a team wins after pulling their goalie? More often than not, it's just adding the final nail in the coffin when the winning team gets the empty netter.

It's not a winning strategy and IMO, you're just as likely to tie the game and force OT with 5 skaters and a goalie than you are with 6 skaters and no goalie, and yet it's almost guaranteed that a team down by 1 or 2 goals will pull their goalie in the last couple minutes.

that game came to mind from a couple of years ago. 2 goals with the goalie pulled to tie it up.

It was terrible. I was almost embarrassed to be there. Oh, and the nail in the coffin was pulling Crawford. "Oh. we're playing like s***. Let's pull the goalie, because ya know- what's better than five crappy players on the ice? 6!" Dumb move.

Well at least you were in Chicago surrounded by fellow fans. If you were in Nashville for a game like that, you would have been heckled for sure. Yea, I was looking at the preview of the game and y'all haven't been playing well lately. But if the second half of the season goes as the first then our whole division will be in the playoffs, except columbus. Im happy about that. We have a tough division.

I don't do heckling, and I daresay no one did that to any Nashville fans last night, as several were there, not far from me. I give them credit for the awesome Rinne, who was nearly flawless. That's as it should be.

Heckling is for children. A good sport congratulates the other team and it's fans. Nashville played a good, skilled, clean game for the most part. I have no problem with another team beating mine when they were clearly better. And Nashville was quite honestly the better team last night.

Wings sure got smoked by the Habs tonight, shockingly. I'm not sure why Howard was starting yet another game. I know he's a work horse, but if he does get a rare game off, it's on the road. I guess they figured the ASB would make up for it.

Doesn't matter much. Conklin wasn't much better and the Wings looked terribly sloppy from the highlights. Wasn't able to actually catch the game live.

Then you definitely don't want to be in Nashville for a preds/wings game. Every single game there is at least 4 or 5 fights in the stands or during intermission. Then when the game is over and you are outside all hell breaks loose. Most of the people are drunk. I have seen 10 people fights. I have seen one person almost get pushed over the balcony in Bridgestone Arena. It gets intense. It definitely doesn't help that the fanbase is almost split down the middle at these games. 50% wings fans, 50% preds fans. It also doesn't help that wings fans are arrogant *******s. Most of the fights I have witnessed were started by them.

What's Shea Weber's trade status? We need him BIGTIME in Philly;):D
Peace

If we give up Weber I will be completely baffled. I think we are more along the lines of giving up Suter. We will know for sure in february because that's when a contract has to be made and whatnot.

I was the same way when we gave up both Richards and Carter;) But anything can happen as you well know;)

So much stuff to comment on from missing an entire week+... I'm not even sure where to start.

Let me go with this:

1) Lee - please don't generalize about all Bruins fans. You should know better than that. BTW: Technically the Silly String incident is assault -- at least in the UK, look it up.

2) Tim Thomas - a bit of a douchy move towards your team. HOWEVER -- we should all agree that he still gets to exercise his right as a citizen and do as he pleases. I have no problem with him skipping the meeting on that account but, still douchy. If he feels so strongly about it then the right way to handle it would have been to not go and then to shut your damn mouth. No need to publicize it.

3) Ference vs. Ovechkin suspensions - Both of those are really worth 3 games? How can that be the same hit? I do like how Ovechkin gave the league the finger by bailing on the All Star Game. I'm sure it's for something political ;)

4) Bruins vs. Flyers - That is real hockey there boys. If you haven't watched that game, find it and watch it. I would have liked to see a little defense. Hartnell with a natural hat trick in a single period. Wow. The Bruins/Rangers game from last weekend was very good too.

5) Chara - If I see this guy cough it up in the D zone one more time this year I'm going to open a vein.

6) All star draft - The politics behind who to pick will be interesting to see. I hope Phil gets picked last again just to start a tradition...

Yea. Weber is a franchise player. I just don't see them giving him up.

I really don't see the Wings trading for him simply because I don't know who they'd give up, but if they don't make a move with their cap space at the deadline, I see them snatching him up in FA. Especially if Lidstrom finally retires, the Wings are (1) going to need him even more and (2) will have tons of money to spend. They already have 5.5m free and that would be another 6.2 off the books when Nick retires. And none of their RFAs/UFAs coming up are going to command a large pay raise.

Hartnell is the epitome of scumbag. Did you see his high hit from behind on noted enforcer Chris Kelly?

5) Chara - If I see this guy cough it up in the D zone one more time this year I'm going to open a vein.

With Corvo on the team (and Kampfer playing with Ference out), you're most worried about CHARA coughing up the puck?? ;)

Well I think the first two picks are pretty obvious:

Alfredson- Karlsson
Chara- Thomas

After that who knows, though I don't think Chara will be picking either of the Sedin sisters.

Hartnell has changed his game from a couple of years back and I think that is good. There were a few hits that I didn't think were great (like the one on Horton) but this isn't field hockey, get over it.

I'd be willing to bet that Corvo coughs it up fewer times in the D zone. And, with Corvo and Kampfer combining for a cap hit of $3.1M vs. $6.9M (salary of $8.5M) I would expect some more surprises.

Chara is shut down on D - I get that. But, the transition turnovers are killers.

It's just the wrong time to have Kampfer on the team. Teams are playing Boston hard and physical -- even more than normal and he's just not quite there yet. The B's need to get another D-man quickly.

It's funny cause I actually agree that the hit wasn't bad. But you have to agree that if that was Lucic or Nose face (making a hit like the ones on both Horton and Kelly) that they would have had a meeting with Shanahan over that. Still need more consistency.

I agree that the Bruins biggest need is a depth defenseman. Even if it's nothing more than what Hnidy did last year, they need a veteran so if a D misses a game, we aren't stuck with Kampfer. He's just too young and doesn't have enough experience.

Pretty excited for next year though, adding Dougie Hamilton to the Chara pairing will help a little bit with the transition game.

I do happen to agree with all of that.

Now I get to go on vacation and disappear for a week again. Enjoy.

Missing 3 home games though :(

And that's why I hate friggin' Senators fans.:D:p;)

how do you think I feel? My guy got dumped like Kessel last year-and Kessel go t a better car!

though if he performs like Kessel did after the ASG, I will forgive Chara and Alffy.

But seriously-

a freaking honda?
