Are there any stats out there on how often a team wins after pulling their goalie? More often than not, it's just adding the final nail in the coffin when the winning team gets the empty netter.
It's not a winning strategy and IMO, you're just as likely to tie the game and force OT with 5 skaters and a goalie than you are with 6 skaters and no goalie, and yet it's almost guaranteed that a team down by 1 or 2 goals will pull their goalie in the last couple minutes.
