Have to ask again why and what exactly is Guardiola taking over for? Also is this the end of the Spanish reign then? especially with Ronaldo and Mourinho all but set to leave Madrid and Barca still missing that intensity they had under Pep.

Well that's what happens when you hire after failing to win your league, lose the champions league final to chelsea and the cup final to dortmund.

Except now he has the last laugh

while it is very cliché to talk about Barcelona lacking a plan B i think it's save to say that without Messi they are half as good

they need more, different options up front ... having an entire squad of dwarves isn't going to work all the time

Pedro/ Alexis aren't good enough (they hardly provide any width at all)

Fabregas and Villa both looked like they aren't playing together enough

they desperately need a better bench in the defense

oscillatewildly = Neutron Heath = Newton Heath = Man Udt

Too far fetched? ;)

Phew, my big secret is safe! :)

...

Guess she files ugly 'n dirty industrial workers under that term. But since I just learned that Trafford Park was the first industrial estate in Manchester ("brest-like hill" wtf? :D) could be I was right, no? Not to mention the reddish shirts...

To add to Jaffa Cake, the second ground - in Clayton - was by a belching chemical works. Financial woes aren't new, Newton Heath becoming Manchester United; perhaps it should now be Greater Manchester United.

Per Jaffa Cake - And to think it would be City who would go on to be the noisier of the two neighbours. :p

Waste of time trying to get the bloody council to do something about it.

Cheers,
OW

It might sound hard from my mouth of an uninformed person, but I found Barca looked lazy in the first 30min.
Not willing to run (like thinking, I will have to be able to run till the 90th minute, so I better do not run after balls I could get, if I run really fast).
Or some were "thinking" to long about the next step. There was one scene were Song were up front and was like (I am not used to being here, what shall I do?). Or Fabgregaz getting a pass and thinking "you told me you would play there, shall I run one meter and try to give the ball back to another player or try to score from the right side? No, I wait and then I decide to run after the ball though, well it doesn't matter that it's 3m away now and if I would have run immediately I would have easily got it. Oh, to late. We will get other chances."
There were playing less "hesitant" later, but still thinking "we do not want to adapt. We will play like we always do and if Neuer knows, that we all shoot the ball very near to the ground and through the middle, we even more play that several times again."

Also it looked rediculous, when any Barca player was running with the ball, it was often like Bayern Players would just have to wait till they tun besides them and very gently tip the foot against the ball.

Despite all their flaws, I would have tipped a fully healthy Barca squad to go through. They may have no plan B, but their plan A is world-beating. Still, nothing lasts forever, and I think after this season they will need to do some shuffling in the squad.

Pep will have a big job to do to maintain Bayern's form - there's almost nowhere to go but down after a league/European double.

Most of the biggest teams are a managerial merry go round, regardless of their achievements on the pitch. Politics, constant expectations and personal issues breed a chronic instability.

I'd say not. Barca and Real still have far too much money for that to happen. i expect to see one or both in the semifinals next season.

In today's crazy rumour news. Klopp to take over helm at Old Bail...i mean Trafford.

And Mourinho will return to Stamford Bridge again. This time we have a date! July 1st AND proof beyond doubt which is based on the fact that Abramovic and The Special one had a dinner date. What more do you need really

Nervous now.

THE MASSIVE WEDNESDAY have a big game this weekend too...

Jafffa:
I wish you the best of luck today. Love to see the Tigers go up on a winning note. And hats off to them for being able to win their way back to the Prem. It is rare, or so it seems, to see a club stay within themselves and be able to have such a successful season. =)

As much as I love THE MASSIVE WEDNESDAY and want them to succeed I cannot help but think that I'm so very grateful for the fact that the club haven't sold their souls for all or nothing success a la' CCFC.

And I certainly am not saying that we haven't had financial troubles. But when I think of all the teams that are bankrupt or nearly bankrupt or what ever you want to call it and are in deep financial trouble with their clubs seemingly melting out from under them(How many QPR players are free to walk when they get relegated?) I have to ask myself,"What price glory?".

CCFC may be going into the Prem next season but to me it feels like an expansion team has been given a golden ticket.

DANG!

Hull City match on the telly here.. If I'd known I'd have invited Jaffa over...

So is The L**ds match.

Crystal palace game online

all 3 courtesy of BEin network.

...and Leeds do Hull a massive solid. What was the keeper thinking.

Championship really entertaining.

Hi Jaffa Cake, were you nervous this last 90 minutes?

And Leeds Utd helped you in the end.

Well done Hull City.

Congrats Jaffa old boy. And here's Steve Bruce looking happy. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1367677551.534467.jpg

Won ugly...albeit against QPR. For once our defence isn't the problem, Koscielny and Mertesacker have formed a brilliant partnership. Its the final third. Conceded 4 and scored 14 since the Spurs defeat.

Podolski has been dismal but of course the excuse will be "you played him out of position". Gervinho has been...Gervinho. We need a striker, hopefully Wenger lands Jovetic or even Benteke in the summer. Giroud can't do it on his own and relying on Walcott for goals is just...frightening.

Still don't know why Jenkinson can't get a start. Sagna continues to be a liability.

A double day of promotions here in the East Riding!

Not only have the mighty Tigers gone up, but our leading local non-league side North Ferriby United have earned themselves a place in the Conference North next season. Thrillingly, what this means is that we can finally play as the Villagers in the next edition of Football Manager. :p

Meanwhile, a massive win for the Latics today. Need another one against Swansea on Tuesday. Looks like Swansea will be without Michu, but Wigan don't really have many fit defenders left.
