Football from the Netherlands

After the drama of Saturday in the EPL, it's back to reality in the Eredivisie.

All games played on Sunday at the same time.

Ajax 5 vs Willem II 0
Ajax are champions and Willem II are demoted, absolutely no surprises here. The game was as one sided as the score looks

PSV 4 vs NEC 2
PSV are runners up they had a scare they were 2 up at half time, NEC scored twice and it took a rally by PSV to bring the win home, this was PSV winning ugly again. PSV scored more than 100 goals this season.

ADO Den Haag 2 vs Feyenoord 0
Feyenoord who were joint second slipped up against ADO Den Haag. The defense of Feyenoord just didn't turn up today. Feyenoord end as third placed team

RKC Waalwijk 3 vs Vitesse 2
The suprise of the day Vitesse a team in form looked very jaded today. Vitesse end as fourth in the Eredivisie

Heracles Almelo 1 vs FC Twente 1
This game ended in a draw and both teams got what they deserved.

sc Heerenveen 2 vs FC Utrecht 4
Heerenveen were just outclassed today

AZ 4 vs PEC Zwolle 0
AZ walked this one.
Sorry Jaffa Cake but you cannot win them all.
Just a note to Lord Blackadder. Jozy was rested until the 60 minute because of the Beker Final against PSV later this month.

Season 2012-2013

Ajax and PSV play CL next season

Willem II goes to the Juplier league

VVV and Roda JC play to see who goes down as well to the Juplier league.

Terrible news from Utah; a youth league referee has died a week after going into a coma due to an attack from a player. The 17 year-old had just been booked and lashed out, punching the ref in the head.

Absolutely shocking stuff.

United have been irresponsible and shocking. Should just do us all a favour and go on holiday.

Agreed.

Also saw that Robbie Rogers might be back this year but has said he will not play for Chicago if he comes back. I hope Chicago makes LA pay through the nose to acquire his rights but I'm sure with stupid ownership they'll let him go for a worthless draft pick.

Robbie's career was in a downward trajectory, but he's still young enough and has enough talent to put in a few good seasons in MLS. I wouldn't like to see him in a Chicago shirt. He's from California so LA could be a possibility...

Hello hello. Popped in to say congratulations to Jaffa - see you next season! Will have to have a trip 'opp norf!

Congratulations Jaffa Cake - even throwing in a Brentford with the penalty. Elmohamady, they're behind you! :)

Manchester United - Champions, no need to worry about losing, so why go out trying not to lose rather than playing to win? P Poor.

Cheers,
OW

love to see him back with the crew tho... but i guess that won't happen.

Cheers Jaffa. A wee bit late, but still. Wasn't following closely, but seems like it was a tad more dramatic than with good ol' Hertha.

Wolves manager Dean Saunders, him gorn.

did u get my tweets?
I did, but long after the game along with a load of others and lots of text messages from Mrs Cake!

The ground has poor phone reception at the best of times, but with 20,000+ Tiger Nationals nervously checking their phones for any updates the system fell over and we were completely in the dark about what was going on. Nerve fraying stuff.

Incidentally, I was thinking last night – has your football team started a new season yet? If so, how are you doing? City will need a 'keeper signed up for next season so we may be making an audacious swoop for Lube Pros custodian Yarnksi. :p

Yarnksi? I remember a pair of blood thirsty eyes...would be a nice to have in my Fifa13 team, too!

We seem to be trying our best to keep up with the Venky’s. At least Blackburn avoided relegation. :(

:D :D :D

u90 Lube Pros (ugh, my team)
My team and we had a lot of returning players so we only got 3 draft picks. =(
Yarnski has gone into semi retirement and is not playing this season, so still pretty good but no real keeper in the bunch.

Drew the first week against what I think will be the eventual champs, 1-1.

We won the next week 3-0.

We drew last weekend 2-2 but could have won. We gave up a stoopid own goal early that tied it up 1-1. We finished 2-2.

1-2-0

Goals:
2 Aaron
1 Anthony
1 J.Mac
1 Josh
1 Abraham

Wigan just not good enough (again). Only so many times you can play the get out of jail card...especially if you keep screwing up.

Edit: Today in crazy rumour news; Fergie might be thinking of calling time on his reign

A couple of press sources are reckoning an announcement may be made over the next day or two.

It's surely no coincidence that this news has come out mere days after our promotion. Sir Alex clearly fears facing us.

...and who can blame him.

Question is who could possibly hope/dare to replace Fergie.

Only two names in the frame: Moyles and Mourinho. Moyles is the natural heir to the throne but I'm not convinced the owners fancy him. And you'd need balls of steel to take over after Fergue. Jose it is then.

Moyes would probably be the better fit but alas i don't see it happening either.

Deano Saunders ;).

Crack at another Champions League v availability of top candidate and/or health. Winner?

+1 on the Wigan Athletic mistakes - put a brick wall in the technical area so Martinez can bash his head. How bad is Henriquez if he isn't getting a game?

Cheers,
OW
