This should be made illegal. :(

Many English players are simply overrated, good (or even very good) but not truly world class. They usually only shine when playing alongside the others who can actually play like the Spanish, Argentinians, Germans, Portuguese etc. Of course there are standouts but for the most part...meh. Plus they lack that hunger the other countries have since they (English players) are grossly overpaid and overhyped.

There i said it.

Carlos Kickabout and his exotic pals*? Manchester United and Arsenal have had their fair share.

Is that Euro fashion, or is Pep an extra in the next Star Trek film? At least it isn't a onesie...(perhaps I'm exposing too much of my Yank-ness, as I sit here in a T-shirt and jeans).

Onesie? Had to google it - shocking. Yep, green and red pants up to date right now, not that I approve of it, but yea. And it is frickin' cold here in Munich, not today, but ~7°C last week = German summer.... eh

Nah, can't get it out of my head, you folks seriously run around in those onesie suits??

I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about Martinez at Everton. Will he be able to improve on or at least match Moyes' performance there?

Just to clarify - it's the Star Trek denizens who wear onesies, not Americans (at least, not any Americans that I hang out with). ;)

Standards are slipping, your Lordship – there once was a time when we wouldn't see you in anything other than an impressively ruffed doublet. You've probably abandoned the codpieces as well, I imagine.

When in Rome...or Cleveland, as the case may be...

Codpieces are one fashion item that simply needs to come back into style.I still have my ancestor's "Black Russian" model safely stowed away for when the time comes...

Well Martinez already has more silverware then Moyes. He'll have a bigger budget to work with and as already firmilar with managing on a shoe string. He's got a great back line already in place. He should be able to bring a more attractive offensive playing style to Everton.

while twietee has already answered: since about ~2 years colored pants for men have become fashionable ... (for women it has been around for longer i suppose)

i hope it goes away but at least all those 80ties neon colors are gone

Good points. On paper it's a sound move, and I certainly wish both parties the best. There has been plenty of debate over whether Martinez is overrated, and I'm not sure this will answer the question since he still won't have much money to play with...it's a tough job.

In the more fashionable parts of cities here I would say the same is the case - reds, pinks, greens and light blues are common... There is also a parallel trend for men to wear capri pants (short pants that end about mid-calf). I have to say am not on board with this trend, though I think pink suits me as a shirt color - I would probably look good in a Palermo kit. :D

Lady Blackadder has a bit of a thing for those late 80s-early 90s neon colors.

EDIT: 'Arry Redknapp is setting himself up for his departure from QPR:

"If we don't change it and I don't get the players that I want to bring in, then we have not got a chance," Redknapp said. "You can't have other people have a say at all. I'm a football person and I've got a staff around me of football people. We've got to make the decisions and, if we make the right ones, we will have a chance.

"Otherwise, if other people want to make decisions, we've got no chance. If I don't get that, then I wouldn't stick around. I'm trying to get Wayne Bridge. I'm hoping that's the first deal I can do."

And here I thought he liked to defer to the chairman on everything?

Well Moyes might already be planning to raid Martinez's squad. With rumours stating that Baines is on his way to Old Trafford and one or two may follow.

He has declared a top 4 finish for Everton which i personally don't see happening unless the current top 5 undergo a massive drop in form/talent. They all have better squads and arguably better managers.

Meanwhile, City splurge £32m on another midfielder who rarely scores. If i were Nasri and Milner i'd start packing my bags. Unless they enjoy warming the bench. So thats £55m and counting...

Baines can't head the ball and Evra is better at dribbling, though the Toffee has kicks and is about 3 years younger. I don't see it as an improvement.

Talk of Nani to Turkey.

Ref in England v Italy U21 game equalises. Edit - next time lads, jump.

The only real threat I see leaving is Fellani. Baines will command a ridiculous transfer fee from the Everton board for them to let him go.

Baines would be a marginal improvement over Evra, at this point. If they're going to ship Evra out, might as well do it right and replace him with Fabio Da Silva Coentrão.

I think someone just blued himself.

Because of his new pointy pointy shoes? Who knows. Definitely looks smart. Probably pick it up to annoy the folks I play with...

twietee - didn't have you down as a glasses wearer. Netherlands v Germany U21; red cards?

Silencio - Coentrão - never sure about him, but that seems to be my feeling about L/R backs these days; my bias toward defensive duties.

Apparently Bolton have scuppered plans for a shirt sponsorship deal with loan shark company QuickQuid after opposition from fans (and presumably those individuals inside the club with a modicum of common sense).

A lucky escape for the Bolton fans.

He brought in the players he wanted to bring in in January, and he got them relegated. Honestly.

The man is a cockney caricature. A departure seems likely though...is he the most overrated manager in England?

Wearing glasses means never-nude, right?

Ned-Ger, red cards? De Jong's playing..hmmm...might pick up a couple of those...

But seriously, Happybunny, I see de Jong and Blind. They are affiliated with whom I think they are? 20:30, can see the second half, maybe.
