Tigerish travel togs for next season...

tigertogs.jpg

Oddly, we're going to be pairing this with red socks.

Oh, it's not all that bad. The French have great fashion, wonderful food, occasionally brilliant generals and they've won a thing or two when it comes to football too. :D

Tomorrow my Chicago Fire will be taking on Lord Blackadder's Crew in the US Open Cup. Should be a good match and I'm sure the Fire will prevail since they seem to be putting all their eggs in the Open Cup basket since the season is a loss.

It's a good time to be facing the Crew, since they can't seem to buy a win these days. We have some key injuries (Chad Marshall and Gaven are out for a while). but Warzycha played a single striker formation for an entire half against Philly after we went 3-0 down. That is not good strategy. :(

Crew are also my team.

;)

I like the US's team's new found attitude. Klinsman is making a difference. Hope they keep this mentality moving forward.

We've been inconsistent under Klinsy but this latest spell is very encouraging. The team seems to have a good attitude and we're winning important games. There have been plenty of ups and downs but on paper Klinsmann's record continues to improve.

Gary Hooper for £4m? Aye, go on then.

He's coming from a team that beat Barcelona in the Champions League...must be good then. ;)

Third and final match in the group phase of the u21.

Netherlands 0 Spain 3

Spain gave young Netherlands a lesson in taking your chances and on good finishing. Luckily for the Dutch they had qualified before this match.
Spain showed why they and Italy are the favourites of the championship.

I think he's raised expectations amongst the players. The team expects to win games. They expect to score. The D still has a way to go, but the play of guys like Altidore is helping take the pressure off some. And about Altidore, what gives? Has he matured? Klinsman? I'd love to know why he's performing so well.

Jozy had a great club season, so I think we all hoped it would translate into improved international form. So far, it seems it has. It remains to be seen just how permanent this bump in form is, but right now he's probably playing better than he ever has in a USA shirt.

At least we can say Klinsmann hasn't had a negative effect on Altidore. Perhaps he's given him that much more confidence. Either way, I hope it continues, the USA is short of truly productive strikers at the international level. We will need Jozy to be at least this good in Brazil.

Not exactly jumping with glee over Liverpool's signing of Iago Aspas...any sub 10m striker in the Premier league is either a gamble or a known has-been. He might turn out to be great, but with the prospect of Suarez leaving and Sturridge still mending I'm a little concerned over the thought of showing up to matches with a frontline composed of Aspas and Fabio Borini...

Oh, and Columbus lost to Chicago in the Open Cup. Chicago started out so terribly this year and yet we can't beat them to save our lives. Horrible. The season is beginning to unravel for us.

Welcome to Eastern Conferance hell. If MLS had regulation I think Chicago would be the equivalent of Wigan. Although Mcgee has brought some life to them as of late. Who would of seen Montreal on top of the east though.
