Yes, good thing about the FA cup final - makes FantasyFooty so much easier to manage, too. Although this years date in Germany, after the CL final, was a bit annoying, too.

Liverpool signed Donezk finest | offensive midfielder M???ic :D.

Altidore scores another. The US wins again. Starting to think there's something to that. Merica.

After a slow, disjointed start that had me worrying if we could even qualify for the WC, the USA have hit a hot streak of form at just the right moment. Altidore in particular is finally doing exactly what we've always wanted him to do - consistently score goals.

Though, I wonder if we will still be looking this good when we host what will surely be a desperate Mexico squad in September. I may buy tickets for that match, since it will be in Columbus. Mexico are playing extra matches because of the Confederations Cup, so they will get extra playing time against good sides. Will this keep them sharp or wear them out?

- good to see you back. Btw, I'm receiving mails from the UEFA that tickets for the upcomming women's (Euro? WC?) tournament are for sale now.
There also was a give away a few days ago, for the friendlies played in Germany before the Euro :) (but I am not that interested, that I would have taken a chance on wining or even buying).

I may have confused you :) It is the Euro Cup in Sweden they prepare and test for, but they do the testing against world teams (like US 3 times, Kanada and Japan. Also from Europe France and Scotland were included in their choice).
BTW you do not need to watch it via the sportschau-player, it is live on ARD, too.

Did you say Hello to Obama, today? ;-) (as you live in Berlin). I saw his two speeches (press conference and public speech) and was surprised he addressed gay marriage as a sign of a free country, (with Wowereit sitting behind him). I guess this speech has better not been watched by FOX (how dare you encourage those European socialists to have gay sex). ;-)

Couldn't, as I'm dwelling and brooding (some call it living) in Munich right now. But 'Ich bin ein Berliner'! :D But my friends complain, city is quite locked down.

This ain't PRSI so I keep it short: Obama still should do good instead of talk pleasingly. You heard Merkel announcing the internet is still virgin soil to all of us?

@twietee
yes I did hear that, funny for a scientist, she is :D

@ confed Italy - Japan
I wished Japan had progressed, they had really deserved it.

@ women's friendly:
Germany won 1:0 against Canada, with a goal from a very sharp angle, from the right of the box, by newcomer Leonie Maier (a wing defender).

Mexico won't be worn out. You should definitely go to the match. The crowd's in Seattle have been awesome. It's such a good rivalry game that your pretty much guaranteed an entertaining game. Curious, what's a ticket cost?

I'd like to think he wears them all the time...

He mist have a nightmare of a time with his iPhone.

Well, when I went to the same fixture in 2009 I paid over $100 each for a pair of tickets. That was above face value; the tickets sold out before I could get any. The atmosphere was loud - mostly Mexican fans! But it was a great match, and USA won 2-0. Maybe this time the USA fans will have a bigger presence.

Talk meanwhile that Arsenal might have secured the signature of Gonzalo Higuaín, most famous of course for being the brother of Columbus Crew striker Federico. If true, this could be a very good bit of business for them.

Here's hoping Pepe Reina doesn't have a howler against Tahiti. I'd love to see them score against Spain though.

It's not every day that Arsenal are fortunate enough to get a player with a brother who plays for Columbus. Maybe some day Gonzalo will be able to move up to playing for the Black & Gold. :D

I suspect that the thinking behind transferring to Arsenal is just so Higuaín can get his English up to scratch prior to engineering his dream move to Ohio.

There's hope for Germany ('s U21) again: Hrubesch to replace Adrion, who replaced Hrubesch before. What an unnecessary waste of time and talent for that Löw buddy.

He can console himself with the money he's made from pushing junk food.

---

England U21 - two positives; they scored a penalty and Pearce is going.

Kagawa must score.

Higuaín - box and poaching? Would help Arsenal. The war chest hinges sound like they need some WD40, it's been a while.

Mignolet to Liverpool. Who are Arsenal after?

Cheers,
OW

And which "bigger" club is in for Reina? I wouldn't be surprised to hear crickets chirping. If I were Arsenal I'd go for Begovic, if possible.

So these Alcantara rumors are only picking up steam. Add him and Strootman, and United's midfield doesn't look like such a liability anymore.

oscillatewildly, did you notice Pools signing of this guy? Said to be the bomb! :D

No, seriously.

Didn't see the Champions League games, but he is supposed to be good behind the striker. It will be interesting with him and more game time for Coutinho - should add goals. Though there is talk of a hitch - not 100% club owned?

Said to be the bomb! - is that wise given recent headlines? I'd hate your posts to be used by the USA as justification for invading Germany.:D

Silencio - Alcântara - fingers crossed etc. May be more than the buyout because of the tax position? How did Bayern sort Martinez? Of course, he may be guaranteed the minutes he wants at Barcelona.

Cheers,
OW

Probably not, but may cause some trouble for me trying to sell get cocain a visa in the future?

Curious about Suarez, though. Except Reina, team looks quite competitive to me.
