Wonder if Crouch will get an England recall?

Anybody noticed Scolari's a Gene Hackman look-alike? Just kiddin'.

Not sure who I should root for...vamos, Uruguay?! :D

Btw. I routed for Brazil. Uruguay has to suffer from my disgust about Suarez who dishonoured himself with that 2006 WC hand (red card included), that prevented the last African team in the tournament from getting to the next round, where instead they would have very, very, very, likely have one with that goal. (I know I said that before... sometimes I am like a broken record :))

I wasn't that thrilled watching the game, but I got to admit, that I was not paying attention 100%.

Edit: UEFA bans Fenerbahçe Istanbul and Besiktas from taking part in the Europe League (reason fraud concerning the outcome of matches, goals-wise). Greek PAS Giannina FC and Panathinaikos Athen are banned as well (financial fraud).

Yea, I wasn't watching 100%, too. But mostly because TV was occupied and the stream sucked.

Hmm, I remember that Ghana game quite well. Riveting. That was Suarez? Oh, my...

Lost lots of money?

Anyone seen the game yesterday? Found it very entertaining and quite good, although the man from inside the telly wanted me to believe they're all just a bunch of lazy millionaires, without any fitness - especially the Spaniards. Best shootout (quality wise) I've seen in a very long time too!

But Confed Cup in general makes me think that every team not participating isn't too sad about it.

After seeing Liverpool's way kit see post #3200, I think you got off light.:p

Haha very true! :p

Still I'm pretty disappointed by the decision to move away from red and white stripes, I quite liked last year's kit, with a new take on the idea, but this is a bit far for me. :/

The kit itself looks fine though. :)

Regular readers may remember that last season I mentioned that West Yorkshire Police imposed a series of draconian restrictions on Hull City supporters who wished to travel to our away game at Huddersfield Town. We were told that they had specific intelligence that we posed a threat to public safety, when asked what this entailed they refused to offer any such intelligence - even attempting to ignore Freedom of Information requests that they were legally obliged to respond to.

Well, thanks to the sterling efforts of supporters groups on both sides a fair bit of information has finally emerged today.

This information - much of it emails and letters sent between officers, the clubs and other interested parties – indicates that West Yorkshire Police's actions were driven by financial motives, and they possessed no specific intelligence relating to Hull City supporters or this particular match. Indeed, there are messages recommending that certain media outlets be avoided lest they ask difficult questions on the matter, and evidence that officers were diverted from other duties to monitor social media and football forums to try and gather any information or negative comments that could be twisted to support their claims. Basically, they had nothing tangible to suggest there was ever going to be trouble.

Add in congratulatory emails sent between officers slapping each other's backs on forcing the clubs into a corner, evidence that they put heavy pressure on clubs over the wording and timing of their statements on this matter, and clear proof that they were attempting to smear law abiding members of the public to try and save face, and it doesn't look good on West Yorkshire Police at all.

However, one thing it does do is exonerate us. We've had our reputation dragged through the dirt over this, and these documents present clear proof that this was done without any good cause or reason. Hopefully this won't be the end of the matter, it would be very interesting to see what the national media makes of their disgraceful behaviour.

TV-Tip
Women's Football:

tomorrow (Saturday)
Germany vs Japan (friendly).
17.45 o'clock Munich time (from the big Bayern Munich Arena!).
They are trying to break the visitors' record for friendly/test matches.

you can watch the stream online, live on sportchau.de
(Viewers in countries around and in Germany that can catch waves from Satellite Astra 1H or 1KR can watch live on "ARD" on television) ;)

This is a pair that usually guarantees for great entertainment.

Last friendly Germany is playing before the Women's Euro Cup starts on July, 10th.

like oscillatewildly correctly states, don't bet on the game and I don't :)

Yes I watched the game, well at least the shootout had my full attention, I don't remember what channel it was on though because I was so mad that Spain won. I can only hope that when Cassillas, Vlla and Xavi retire after the World Cup that other teams will finally have a bit more of a chance.

I really wanted Italy to go through because they played with a lot of heart, but it wasn't supposed to be and ended up being the same thing as the 94 World Cup final..

bingo ;)

Relax yourselves, I can honestly say that I never lost any money on betting. Jaffa? :D

And ya, agreed about rigging. I'm from Berlin, so Café King anyone?

Xavi retiring (hope he will continue Pirlo style) = hope Thiago can fill this gap.

Transfers from the Netherlands.

Erik Pieters moves to Stoke City from PSV for 3.5 Million Euro's.

He is a Defender is 24 years old. He is noted for his determined style of tackling, he also has a useful presence in the air useful by free kicks/corners. Last year he was injured so missed the last part of the season.

You can see he will even be used to playing in Stoke Colours.

Ola Toivonen will move to Norwich for 6 Million Euro's

He played nearly 5 seasons for PSV 117 matches and scored 56 goals. He is 27 years old, if he has a major weakness it's that he is quite temperamental/he ghost in and out of matches.

Fun fact by Robot Football in Einhoven.

That is just terrible, but I did some reading about other cases in the UK.

Smear campaigns against innocence people by undercover police agents. It's now no longer a case of a few bad apples, the whole system is rotten to it's core.

There is of course the nasty taste in the mouth left by Hillsborough.

I in no way want to put this thread into PRSI. I just posted this as a way of showing that you, and Hull City Fans are not being paranoid. ;)
