I saw that myself a little earlier a colleague was reading various pieces about the report online and commented on the lack of coverage there compared to the other news outlets. This isn't surprising in the slightest of course, as The Sun was a key player in spreading the notion that the tragedy was caused purely by 'drunken ticketless louts' a story which has once again been debunked by this latest report.
During my dinner hour I read some of the details revealed today about what went on and how things were covered up there's some stuff in there that was already known of course, and stuff that was suspected to have happened, but it makes for absolutely sickening reading.
I really appreciate you saying this mate. Living in Liverpool and seeing how the whole sorry 23 years have eroded most non-scouse people's sympathy/empathy towards the 96 and their families (it's human nature, people forget, they move on and it's easy to start getting annoyed at people that still harp on about stuff you don't really understand) the greatest result from this week's events is for those people to regain their dignity. Because some of those mostly very young people who died were denied that basic human right of dignity in death. May they now rest in peace. Starting by stripping some knighthoods, fixing the cause of death on people's death certificates and if it is proven, putting some of the culprits behind bars. I know it's not about retribution and it won't bring back the dead BUT you can't have part of the state actively harming the same people whose taxes pay their salaries without some penal implications. That would be true justice. IMHO
