Nova was strong early but fell off. I guess the question is who is the number one starter in the playoffs. Kuroda or Sabathia?

CC will get it, but Kuroda deserves it.

I wouldn't feel bad about wasting CC in the one game playoff. Then at least if we make it in, our true ace will pitch game 1 of the ALDS.

Speaking of deserving to play in the post season, Strassburg.

That is what we should have been doing the whole season to the Orioles.....:cool:

Jeeze, Markakis injured for the rest of the regular season... :(

It's a shame that the Orioles lost such a key contributor on both offense and defense at such a key moment of one of their most exciting seasons. Hopefully they sneak into the playoffs with the Rays. Tired of the Bankees getting in there.

That was one of the most frustrating games of the season, and yet one of the most exciting.

The whole game the A's were giving us the game with all those errors, passed balls, and wild pitches, but our offense couldn't capitalize and our pitching couldn't hold them. And then we blow the tie in the 13th and down by 4 runs and we tied it again. And then Mesa missed 3rd base forcing him to retreat on what should have been a walk off single by ARod. It was fitting that we won on the A's committing an error.

I guess I should check in as the beleaguered Red Sox fan. At this point, much as it pains me, I've taken to rooting for us to lose so we end up with a top 10 draft pick. There's no point in moral victories with a AA roster. Really hard being a RS fan right now, ugh. I keep watching the games because apparently I am a sports masochist. :(

The A's and Orioles potentially getting a shot in the postseason is great, that will be fun to watch. Good luck to everyone else with a horse still in the race, even the odious Yankees fans. :D

How dare you not root for them now, they have to beat the Orioles.

tough day for the brewers. had to face gio gonzo one of the best and peralta got a tough break in the 3rd on segura's error. too bad the cubs couldnt hold on to beat the cards. brewers need to win these next 2 games to stay in it

As a Cards fan, at this point of the year I have the same as I did last.... to make it to the post season. Even if it's just to lose in the first match up (last year) or the Wild Card playoff (this year).

You've been talking smack about the Sox and their fans all year, you really think I'd root to help you? Dream on. :p Also, I have the Red Sox's best interests in mind, always. A top 10 pick would serve us a lot better than a few pointless victories. And if losing to the Orioles screws you in the process, so be it (sorry Moyank).

A draft pick is the least of your worries.:p You better hope for new ownership.

The ownership would be fine if they would just write the checks but otherwise sit back and shut the **** up. Unfortunately Larry Lucchino feels the need to micromanage every decision from trading $270 million to when Pedroia takes his afternoon piss.

This season can't end fast enough for the Red Sox at this point.

He should have stepped in before Theo signed Crawford to that huge deal. While I agree with leaving the baseball ops to the GM, etc, if you know a deal is bad, an owner should step in since it is his money.

From what I remember, him and Cherington really wanted Crawford. Theo wasn't so hot on him but made the deal because LL told him to.
