When, division series starts tomorrow.

No clue but it would definitely complicate things. The NLDS that the winner of this game would play in doesn't start until Sunday.

I'm curious to see what happens if the Braves end up winning the game AND the protest.

If the Braves win the protest is moot. The league would have to decide quick wether to allow the protest or not.

If that happened in New York or Chicago, the results would have been MUCH worse.

Get off your high horse.

I'm not saying the Braves don't deserve to be angry, it's just the way that they reacted. If it happened here, I'd be ashamed of my own fellow fans.

If it happened in Philly, there wouldn't be a stadium left for either the Phillies or Eagles to play in. ;)

This is a one game playoff and the umps blew an easy call. I think the fans have a right to protest.

I think the ump blew that call too.

The umps royally blew that call. If the Braves lose all hell will break lose.

I'm not sure that was a blown call..... The rule says that the ball should be able to be caught with ordinary effort by an infielder. I guess it's subjective whether or not Kozma's sprint was ordinary effort.

Now the real question is: Will the Cards make it past the Nats?

Answer: that's a clown question bro

Or what you consider to be the infield. That should have been the outfielders play.

There's no doubt that the call was wrong, but lets see how MLB reacts.

As someone else said, already denied. But with the way the rules are written, there's basically no way it could be approved.

There's also the notion that the umpire has to make a timely call.

The ball was in the screenshot when he finally made the call. That's a clown call, bro.

I think you're a bit hung up on the name of the rule. The ball doesn't have to be caught or in play in the in field, just has to be able to be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort. So again, it's down to whether or not Kozma's efforts were ordinary.

Although I'm a Cards fan all the way, I think that rule needs a bit more polish.

By throwing crap onto the field, delaying the game by 20 minutes, and most importantly, putting the safety of players and umps at risk? Come on, no one can actually defend that kind of behavior.

It was a night of bad calls. Earlier in the game, David Ross swung and missed for strike 3, but as Loshe was throwing the pitch, the home plate umpire made a very late timeout call, so it didn't count and he hit the next pitch for a 2 run homerun. Questionable calls all around that benefited both teams. The Braves didn't help themselves either with 3 errors.

I'd also wager this is the first time in a long time that runner interference and infield fly were called in the same game, they're both pretty rare calls. The runner interference call was a good call. Infield fly, not so much. That was a terrible call. But as a Cards fan, I'll take it.

I can understand the call when actually hearing the rule, but I've never seen it called that far out. And I watch a lot of baseball.

That said, the Braves played like crap at home. They lost that game with all of those errors. I think it was a crappy call, but they put themselves in that positions.

Now, if that happens to the Yankees, I reserve the right to take back everything I just said. ;)

Blah Blah Blah...easy for a winning fan to say the opposing fans were out of line. I don't condone what they did but I have never seen an important call that badly missed before in my life. I really don't know how I would have reacted if I were there. Card fans are not saints...

Nothing at all wrong with that runner's interference call. He was just too stupid to run in a straight line.

Love it!

Unfortunately the rule seems to open.

When it seems apparent that a batted ball will be an Infield Fly, the umpire shall immediately declare "Infield Fly" for the benefit of the runners.

The first Three words leave it the judgement of the Ump. I can only imagine that in the seasoned Umps judgement it was not apparent until the ball hung in the air for a bit.

I'm not a fan of how the Call went myself either..... I think they should certainly tighten up that rule. It's intent is good, but it possibly robbed the braves of a good rally.
