No matter the reason, he still made himself look like an a**hole.

I would also suggest they don't trash talk either. They only won by 1 score and they were facing a team that doesn't have half of the weapons Denver does. And that was with bad turnovers by SF.

Maybe I need to see that in super, super, super, slo-mo, but it looks like their upper bodies hit each other (could have been a pick play, or they could have collided in the middle of his crossing route). To say that he's diving at the knees, and it's cowardly, is just as dramatic as Bill saying that's the worst play he's ever seen.....I'm just not seeing it.

No offense, but you seem to think that every time a Patriot gets hurt, it's because of a dirty play. Just because he's hurt, doesn't mean it was on purpose.

I have a hard time believing that if it wasn't Welker, Bill B. wouldn't have had the same reaction. Doesn't he have issues with holding grudges? :D

That is still awesome to watch. I'll also tune in just to see what a hot mess she looks like every week. :p

One point is all it takes for a victory.

LOL, poor Pam. Not going to lie, I always feel a little bad when people rip her style choices. I couldn't defend that lacefront, though. :D

Yes speaking of tight ends...... the season is ending just in time so we can focus on a certain gang banger's trial, who may now be on the hook for leisurely murdering 3 people while he wasn't catching passes from Brady

Ah yes, you and rdowns seem intent to occupy the moral high ground on this one. Go for it, unless your GM owns a crystal ball, there but for the grace of whatever deity you believe in go I..

New England gets more right than it gets wrong, and I know how frustrating that must be for you guys. :D

If the Seahawks want to win, they'll have to score more than 1 point. ;)

You know what I mean. Be real. Don't be canned.

It's just gonna be a fun game to watch. It's been a while since the two top seeds and best offense faced the best defense.

And I fully expect Seattle to lose so it's all ice cream.

I was being real when I said that the Seahawks defense is going to be playing against a much better offense. The Broncos D isn't too shabby either, so they'll have to play much better offensively. They'll have to force Peyton into making some of the same mistakes that Kap made to have a chance, though. We'll also have to see if the weather will have any effect.

I think it'll be entertaining game as well. And as someone with no horses in the race, that's all I ask for.

Interesting read on Richard Sherman.

I agree with it.

We sit on our couches with a beer while yelling at players on TV but if one of those players says stuff we don't like sparks fly.

Eh. Seems like you're trying a bit too hard to justify the guy's behavior. In my view, it isn't what he said, but how he acted. He made himself look like an idiot, Stanford grad or not.

I think it's commendable that he's an intelligent guy who came from a rough place to make a name for himself. I'm certainly not going to pat the guy on the back for not getting arrested, though. Doing what you're supposed to do shouldn't earn you a free pass. Mark Sanchez never got arrested - does that mean people can stop making fun of the butt fumble?

If Peyton Manning or Tom Brady acted like that, people would be saying the same thing. And if Tom Brady followed a cornerback off the field after a win and talked trash in his face, you know he'd be vilified for it. And let's be honest, Sherman invites the attention. You can't complain when it doesn't go his way.

I might, except one little part confused me. It said that he graduated HS with a "4.2 GPA". Huh? How does that work? Did they change the language when I was not looking?

You cannot realistically compare a cornerback to a quarterback, they approach their jobs from very different perspectives. The QB runs the offense, throws passes and generally tries not to get hurt. He tends to get a lot of attention by the very nature of his job. A corner is out there to stop the passes, or pick them off, and leave a bruise or two on the receivers ("this is my territory you are trying to invade"), it seems natural for such a player to get fired up. And, quite frankly, Sherman does not randomly, gratuitously invite attention, he does it by being one of the best damn corners in the game. If he was not a stand-out player, he would get mostly ignored.

Really, I am hoping he gets the pick-6 off Peyton Manning that ices the SB for Seattle and earns him the MVP. Just to piss everyone off.

I think there's a middle ground. I think there's a place for more honesty and forthrightness in sports - but I think Sherman went a little over the line. Understandable, perhaps, considering the microphone was in his face seconds after the game ended. But his annoyance with the "villain" label is a bit ridiculous. Not sure what he expected would happen, it's a narrative he created. Not going to lie though, it was certainly a "holy crap" moment in terms of post-game comments, and you never get that anymore.

I liked him a lot better when the main chip on his shoulder was Harbaugh's douchery towards him, though.

And his "genius" label from the media is totally absurd.

No Moral high ground, just that there is no comparison between the severity of this incident and any other..... yeah you get more right but that doesn't make this one wrong any less hideous and severe..... The point is that once he gets convicted this will probably go down as one of the worst acts committed by a player currently under contract..... and I know you patriots fans want to sweep it under the rug and point the finger at other teams, and go on about how you get more right than wrong. but this one is too big to fit under any rug.

Yeah, it is a big deal. He is awaiting trial on murder charges. That said, why are the Patriots under indictment as well? Did they tell Hernandez to go kill someone?

If you or anyone else that is a member of MacRumors goes out and murders someone, does that mean that their employers are just as bad as you and others are making the Patriots out to be?

That's true and part of me thinks he wants to sell millions in T-shirts and other spin off items.

Sherman may be new but he already made himself out to be both the badass and buffoon of the NFL and has people talking about him.

I am a Niners fan and as sickened as I was at his rant, after also being put off by the way he treated Brady in another high profile loss, but I may still go buy one of his shirts. It's not as if he's Manson and selling shirts from jail, but more of a guy who is part athlete and part master salesman. His bravado may not belong in a lot of places but this is still football.

It will be interesting to see if he breaks up Manning enough for a Super Bowl. I could only imagine the commercials a guy like Sherman will make. Just like the Rock went from outspoken WWF wrestler to media personality that was bankable, Sherman can take his persona and make lots of money long after he hangs up his cleats. Whether it's the rock, Mike Tyson, or whoever, Sherman knows that being a villain is just as bankable, if not more, than being a hero. What's maddening for me is that he backs up his "are you mad" routine with actual plays. The guy had to learn something going to college and a year of grad school in the entrepreneur capital of the world in Silicon Valley.

Nothing will make me more glad than seeing Manning loft a floater over Sherman's head for the game winning 4th quarter touchdown in an extremely low scoring game. :) But Sherman being Sherman, I know even that will give him an opportunity to be a ham and make money. We got to see losing Super Bowl QB Kap make a lucrative McDonald's commercial after his heartbreaking loss. Larry Bird made a few cute commercials with Magic Johnson after a Celtics NBA championship loss. Dan Marino was on a commercial with Joe Montana after the Niners beat the Dolphins. Even Peyton Manning made some commercials after a few years of dashed hopes in the postseason only to get the Super Bowl win the very next year.

Excuse me but I take exception to that.

It was Brady who started it by walking up to the Seahawks sideline pre-game and asking Sherman who they were. That is incitement. Plain and simple. He knew damn good and well who they were.

At least Sherman doesn't stand on the sidelines and cuss out his team mates.

If they wanna start it Sherman's gonna finish it.

I was obviously teasing rdowns about the Winslow/Geno Smith weiner stuff because, yes, it's funny and we all know it could happen on any of our teams (I have, in fact, been sent pictures of a certain Patriots LB's prince albert). You obviously weren't joking with the Hernandez stuff because there's no joke made there. The Patriots did all they could.

Nice picture. I hope you guys win and put the lid on Sherman. You may only have to deal with him in a couple of weeks, and then never after that for a few years, but the rest of us here in the NFC west will have to put up with him twice a year.

That being said I still think Seattle will win this by a touchdown through steady and dominating defense. Wilson may rise to the occasion and play mostly like the great QB he has been these last two years and give Manning a true passing duel. Unless Denver could really turn on their defense, it will probably be a one sided Seahawks game. 21-14 Seahawks or at most 28-21.

No, they will not be so lucky. If I read the scheduling formula correctly, in the 2014-5 season, the NFC-W will play the AFC-W in the regular season, so there will be a grudge-match this fall. That is assuming Richard Sherman remains an active Seahawk next season.

I hope Sherman, well, comes to my team. We are talking professional sports and there is no absolutely such thing as loyalty to one team. Money talks.

I used to hate Deion Sanders, the outspoken Atlanta Falcon cornerback (back when the Falcons were in the same division as the Niners) and he brought his talents to us, donned a red and gold uniform, and was very instrumental in our successful Super Bowl winning 1994 season. He was also a San Francisco Giant, too around that time, give or take a year I think.

Seahawks haters can take heart in the fact that there is faint hope of them winning the SB. The Broncos have at least two players who have multiple experience in the Show as well as a head coach who has one under his belt (a narrow loss to NE). The Seahawks are a young team with no players having been there, nor their coach, at best, a half a dozen members of the coaching staff have played in one.

Age and treachery beats youth and energy, every time, lay your money on Denver, as long as the line stays under 3.

Agreed. You see it time and time again where a young, talented team comes in hot only to get outplayed by a veteran team who has been there before.
