Probably, but we should wait for the facts and not pass judgement based on tabloid-quality reporting.
eh?
New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect in the execution-style murder of a semi-pro football player, law enforcement sources told ABC News on Thursday.

Sources told ABC News that the home security system at Hernandez's home, along with his cell phone, were destroyed. Police were at Hernandez's home again Thursday with another search warrant based on evidence that Hernandez "destroyed his home security system," an investigator close to the case told ABC.

The investigator and other law enforcement sources, confirmed that the security system was smashed intentionally. Hernandez's cell phone was handed over to investigators "in pieces" by his attorneys, sources added.

Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners were hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez's mansion, sources told ABC News.

Police say Lloyd was dating the sister of the mother of Hernandez's daughter. Meanwhile, a lawsuit has been refiled in Florida against Hernandez by a man the tight end allegedly shot in South Florida in February. The lawsuit contends Alexander S. Bradley was shot in the arm but the bullet traveled to his head, causing him to lose his right eye.

I think it's safe to say the circus has taken up residence in Foxboro. We got Tebow, Hernandez, Putin and the SB ring, Kraft hanging with Jay-Z. :D

I'm still waiting for legitimate facts and not tabloid quality garbage (ie "anonymous sources say"). Who knows if he was involved in the murder or not, but just because the guy was dating his girlfriends sister doesn't automatically make him involved like some of these articles have tried to insinuate.

Regardless though, possibly destroying evidence like this article claims wasn't a smart move.

That said, lets wait until a credible source actually reports concrete facts instead of speculation and something an "anonymous source" said.

That Florida thing is a load of ******** though. If he really shot someone, where's the police report? That case screams money grab.

I must have missed said circus between the Whitey trial and the Bruins being in the Stanley Cup Finals. Must be a slow news day in New York if you all are caught up in our news :p

Though I do think it's pretty funny we haven't heard a peep about tebow in over a week now.

BREAKING: Law enforcement source: No arrest warrant for Aaron Hernandez or anyone else in Lloyd investigation
https://twitter.com/BostonGlobe/status/348082129164460032

More tabloid quality journalism by TMZ sports...err I mean ESPN. Gotta love how the media nowadays reports a rumor by an "anonymous source" as fact and then when it's confirmed that it's not true, they backtrack. In the days of journalistic integrity, they would wait for multiple confirmations before publishing... now they publish just to make their ad revenue then confirm or retract later.

I'll be the first to condemn him if legitimate facts come out/he is charged, but until then this is just pathetic rumor mongering by the media.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/06/21/globe-reports-that-theres-no-arrest-warrant-yet/
Somewhere, CNN is smirking.

In response to multiple reports that an arrest warrant has been issued for Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, the Boston Globe reports that no arrest warrant has been issued for Hernandez or anyone else in connection with the death of Odin Lloyd.

Since all reports cite unnamed law-enforcement officials, this is as good a spot as any to reiterate the concerns arising from reports based generally on one or more sources in law enforcement.

First, without knowing who the person is, there’s no way to know whether the person is in position to know anything. “Law enforcement” is a very broad term encompassing many people from various departments, local, state, and federal.

Second, and perhaps more importantly, there could be a strategic objective to publish misinformation in order to prompt a reaction from those who are being investigated. If, for example, Hernandez and others sense that the noose is tightening, will they behave in a way that indicates guilt?

So while there’s no reason to think that the reports aren’t technically accurate (i.e., that law-enforcement officials are separately saying things that don’t mesh), the conflict demonstrates that different law-enforcement officials know different things — and that they may have different reasons for spreading information that may not be accurate.

The problem for the media outlets becomes separating the cream from the crap, especially if law enforcement has decided that circulating incorrect information could prompt the kind of reaction that will help achieve the far more important goal of bringing Lloyd’s killer(s) to justice. In those situations, the sources are likely to be very persuasive and persistent, which could make them in turn seem even more credible.

May not have been issued yet, but it is coming!!!

http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story...rnandez-new-england-patriots-reports-abc-news

Update, it seems one has been issued for obstruction..... good lord.

Yeah sorry, but lets see a credible source like the Boston Globe reports this or a picture of him in handcuffs. I'm not believing a word that TMZ sports says.

It's inevitable that he's going to be arrested for obstruction for destroying his security system if that report was true. But I'm not giving clicks to rumor mongering tabloid journalism. Speculation should be left to twitter and message boards, not media outlets.

Hernandez might want to go get a job at BK and flip some burgers before he gets arrested.. he's gotta save up some money for lawyers bc if any of this is true the Pats are going to void his contract and sue him for the bonuses paid since he signed his extension last year.

In the mean time I'm taking a ride up to Foxboro to try out for TE. I probably could be better at it than Tebow.

Every bit of news that leaks on the Aaron Hernandez investigation is more damning than the last. I was hoping for a misunderstanding, but it's starting to look like he's a very, very dumb criminal. Still clinging to tiny hope that I'm wrong, but things are looking very bad for him. Being involved in a murder makes you a horrible, disgusting human being in any scenario.

23 years old, extremely talented with a bright future and a young child, and he threw it all away.

While I totally agree with you if the media's reports turn out to be accurate (which doesn't always happen, remember when every media outlet except the Globe was reporting an arrest had taken place in the marathon bombings two days before the FBI presser even released the photos of speedbump and his brother), it's still just a media soap opera at this point. Still waiting for any concrete information from the police/DA, an arrest, or charges being filed. Anything other than this should be taken with a grain of salt. The media is in the business of generating clicks and revenue, not reporting accurate information.

ESPN sent out a "breaking news" (lol) alert that the police were back at his home. Yippee, I don't give a ****. Let me know if/when he gets arrested. That's breaking news. I don't need a play by play of when the cop investigating this goes to dunkin to grab a coffee and take a piss.

If the official report comes out and Hernandez was involved, good ****in riddance. I'll look forward to the Pats voiding his contract based on the morals clause, and suing him to recover the bonus money he's been paid since he signed that extension (maybe they can put some of that in a fund for his baby daughter since he sure as hell won't be able to support her from behind bars). You have everything handed to you in life on a silver platter because you can run fast and catch a ball, and you throw it all away being a piece of **** thug? **** him.

Well yes, it's all speculative at this point, but any time the police enter your home with K-9 units, it's not a good sign. I feel like the warrant is not a question of if, but when.

I feel the same about his contract and situation with the team. Like I said, I still have a tiny bit of hope left, but only because I'd be so disappointed in so many ways if I didn't. I don't even want to think about the horrible scenarios that could play out.

Unlike you, though, I don't think the Patriots should save a dime for his daughter. Why should they? Not their responsibility whatsoever. Cold, but that's how I feel. After paying back his bonus, the rest of whatever he has left should go to his legal feels and his kid. The Patriots should donate money to struggling families who aren't criminals. Can you imagine getting arrested for a murder investigation and your job creating a trust for your child? Hell no. I'm sick of idiot athletes getting special privileges.

He should have put his child first, it's no one else's responsibility but his and the child's mother's. Period. Just because he's an athlete doesn't mean he (or his kid) should get special breaks - more than he already will in terms of punishment. Because you know he won't be facing the same punishment you or I or any other person would.

Agreed. The Patriots are under no obligation to provide anything for Hernandez's child.

Totally agree. But it would be a nice gesture. What amounts of pocket change for Bob Kraft could make a big difference down the line for that little kid.

But back on topic... this soap opera just needs to be over.

Whoa.

RT @Patriots: The New England #Patriots have released Aaron Hernandez.

Oops, too slow.

What happened to innocent and wait for all the facts?

Still waiting for any concrete information from the police/DA, an arrest, or charges being filed.

Learn to read :p

All I said was don't believe the media reports until you see a picture of the guy in handcuffs or they file charges.

Well, there's the picture. And they're going to be charging him in Attleboro district court shortly. So like I said, good riddance.

Interesting speculation from a fantasy football site that I subscribe to...

Shut the front door. The Patriots have released Aaron Hernandez.

From the Patriots official Twitter feed: "@patriots: The New England #Patriots have released Aaron Hernandez."

Wow. Mike Reiss had mentioned this as a possibility but I honestly thought it was a long shot.

Couple of things here. First and foremost - it goes without saying that the bigger issue here of a murder investigation is a horrible situation. A man lost his life and the ripple effects from that are devastating for many. It honestly feels weird to be writing about this in terms of Fantasy Football. But I also fully understand my role in our relationship and you've subscribed to this email list for Fantasy Football information. So while acknowledging the seriousness of the issue, I'll give some thoughts on Hernandez from a Football perspective which in the big picture, is relatively meaningless.

With that said, this move is hugely telling. Let's look at what we know and what we think we know.

The Patriots are not a team fearful of "distraction". They're not afraid of giving guys "second chances" and rolling the dice on players. In past seasons they've brought in Corey Dillon, Randy Moss and Albert Haynesworth. They just added Tim Tebow. If any team and coach in the league could handle a problem like this as the player worked through the process, it's New England and Bill Belichick.

The Patriots are a team that is on top of things. Maybe more than any team in the league, the Patriots are controlled and managed. And for people in charge of well controlled and well managed organizations, information is King. I'd be very surprised if they don't have a good idea of what Hernandez is facing. In other words, I would expect them to know things we don't know about this. They very well may know more than the police right this second.

The Patriots are a team with a need at tight end. Rob Gronkowski's availability is far from certain. And even with a healthy Gronkowski, Hernandez is a big part of this team. With an ailing Gronkowski, even more so. They've lost Wes Welker. This team needs Aaron Hernandez in a big way.

Given all those reasons to hang on to Hernandez, they chose to release him today based on what they know.

What this tells me is that this is a radically different situation than something like Ray Lewis faced years ago.

This tells me that Aaron Hernandez has zero value in a redraft league today.

And this tells me he has little value for 2014 and beyond. I'd agree with my friend Sigmund Bloom who said today, Hernandez is "5 to 10 cents on the dollar today in dynasty leagues where he was 25 cents on the dollar yesterday".

Bottom line is this has gone from looking bad to terrible for Hernandez very quickly. And again, I apologize for talking so flippantly about a Fantasy Football perspective as it relates to such a serious real life issue.
