Don't they usually bring up murder charges in federal court ? He is being charged in district court.
Something tells me they wouldn't have released him so abruptly if he was only facing obstruction charges...

Murder is usually a State crime, not a Federal crime.
Really sad. I am continually surprised by the utter stupidity of people to waste the gifts, talent, and good fortune they receive in life. I hope Odin Lloyd's family gets justice, however that may play out. And now the Patriots must move on.
I feel a little superficial talking about football when a guy died (so forgive me), but it's mind boggling to me how the Patriots went from having the two best TEs in the league to desperately needing depth at that position. We're going to have to find some talent before the season starts.
The Jake Ballard move is looking more and more like our saving grace.
You think Gronk will be healthy enough to play this year?Hope they lock him up at MCI Norfolk so he can still hear the cheers from Gillette when Brady throws a TD to the Gronk.
EDIT: Hernandez is being arraigned right now.
Charges: murder, carrying firearm without license, possession of a large capacity firearm x2, possession of a firearm without an FID card x2.

Wow, very sad to see. A young man who had just about everything in the world he could want, and then just throw it all away.
Back in the 80's I was busted for pot by a county drug task force and charged in federal court. I just figured a much worse crime would be the same way.
He'll be on the PUP to start the year but he'll probably come off between weeks 6-8 and play the 2nd half of the year.
The infection in his arm was cleared up and apparently has healed up fine. The back surgery which is supposed to fix a problem he's had for a while is supposed to be 8-12 weeks recovery. Once he's healed up from that, he'll hopefully be good to go.
Agreed. Sadly, most of the time, it's once a thug, always a thug... And listening to this arraignment, he's just that. They didn't specify what degree the murder charge is but by hearing this testimony I have to imagine it's 1st degree.
Really crazy to hear them mentioning all these places that are 10 minutes from my house.
EDIT AGAIN: The prosecutor just mentioned it's first degree. Asking to be held without bail.
"@GlobeMetro 6m
Prosecutor: When he gets home, Hernandez walks through home with gun in hand -- and it's captured on video."
One more edit: Judge orders Hernandez held without bail.
I thought they said he destroyed his home surveillance equipment. How could they say they saw him walking into his home with gun in hand ?

From all the details at the arraignment, sounds like his buddies threw him under the bus.

Do you think they should have covered for Hernandez?
Of course not. What a ridiculous question.
Then why say this, "sounds like his buddies threw him under the bus."
He did the murdering and his friends knew it and didn't want any part of the coverup. Then why say this, "sounds like his buddies threw him under the bus."

He most likely figured his friends would not rat him out. That doesn't qualify as "throwing him under the bus" in my opinion.
