Chelsea cheated, got away with it -and then Mou had a nasty little patronizing dig at Paul Lambert in his post-match press conference.

It's like Chealsea 2004 all over again. :)

Bah, that Ivanovic. Makes me so mad I just want to bite him.

Yeah, I don't see any difference between what Ivanovic did today and what Steven Taylor get sent off for at the weekend. Then to add insult to injury he scored the winning goal from an offside position.

yeah, and then one of the Villa lads got a card after the match had ended.

So was the ref intimidated or bribed? I'm going with bribed.

They wasted all this money on goal line technology when they should have introduced replays. Put someone in a booth with TVs showing all the angles. Better yet, also play it on the big screens so everyone there can see. Refs would stop if they knew that the fans can see what happened right there and then. I could actually see some people invading the pitch if the ref ignored the replays.

Mourinho teams always have a real edge to them. They have technical skill but are physical, push the rules to their limits and are not very likeable at all.

I'm not concerned about one bad call so much as a failure on the part of the refs to clamp down on the obvious and repeated fouls. You didn't need instant replays to see it. How many times does a Chelsea player have to elbow an opponent in the face before the refs decide its a foul?

I'm just waiting for Mourinho to poke David Moyes in the eye. :D

While the quality of the Dutch game might be in decline, at least our conduct on the pitch is getting better.

These facts are for the amateur game.

Incidents in amateur football have decreased by 50% since the dead of a Linesman last season. So it does seem that KNVB are taking this very seriously, and that the new regulations are working.

A small breakdown.
412 incidents in 274 matches out of a total of 752,000.
Looking at this it seems that once trouble starts in a match, it just reignites later in the same match. Players holding grudges and trying to get even.

In that incident Richard Nieuwenhuizen the linesman was found to have been a contributing factor in the violence.
6 Players got 2 years each (please note these were children), and a Father of 51 got 6 years.

I can't wait till the transfer window closes. If even half the hype is true I expect Willian to score 50 bicycle kick goals from the halfway line this season.

Both Man Utd and Arsenal are leaving it very, very late if they are really planning to make big signings. Man Utd's pursuit of Fellaini & Baines seems halfhearted.

That's certainly encouraging news!

Latest news on Willian is him going to Stamford Bridge..saga continues. If that's true and Mata / Rooney exchange following I hope Kagawa moves back to BVB in winter*. Poor lad.

*not happening, I know

LB - If Evra is staying, Baines is worth more to Everton than Manchester United, and I can't see the Toffee moving to be cover. It only makes sense for the player - playing not money - if Evra is off, but then you'd expect Manchester United to have made more of an effort.

twietee,

Like Kagawa and hope he is given a fair crack of the whip; bought to play behind Rooney, then RVP arrives, and now the gossip re Mata and Ozil. :(

Saw this picture of Willian whilst trawling transfer news:

Cheers,
OW

Well, I reckon Parma and Errea have Kit Of The Year™ in the bag.

Parma100Header.jpg

Following extensive research through the photographic archives of Parma Football, we have designed an exact replica of the shirt from 16 December 1913.

Of course, in the early 1900’s there were no synthetic fabrics or dyes, and so this shirt has been made using pure wool in its natural white form. The fabric used is woven on looms which are the same as those used in that period and has a natural elasticity thanks to the low number of turns that these machines have. Good things come to those who wait.

The shirts are stitched using the same chain stitching machines that were present at that time, to ensure a genuinely antique look. Only when work is done with love and passion can you produce something ‘authentic’.

As tradition dictates, the first shirt of Parma is a White and Black cross.

The shirts at that time had a small “French style” open collar, which was closed using laces. The black cross had very specific dimensions and was applied by first soling on the verticle stripe, followed by the horizontal stripe which went all the way around. The sleeves were long with a black cuff. Timelessly elegant.

The celebration shirt of Parma Calcio is not only considered to be “Made in Italy”, but thanks to the fact that it has been conceived, designed and made all in the same city, it can be proudly declared to “Made in Parma”.

Lovely stuff.

I doubt Rooney will go. Surely United won't sell to a direct rival? As for Kagawa, I could see him buried in the squad an only emerging in cameos. He's better than that though.

Agree re: Evra and Baines. I saw that Willian photoshop image too, very funny. :D

Magnificent attention to detail! I absolutely love it. I think big crosses make excellent designs for football kits. It has something almost medieval about it.

Are these replica kits actually going to be for sale?

It's clear as day what Chelsea are up to. They've known Willian was available. Everyone did. They could have went in last week and tied it up. They see Tottenham as a threat.

It seems we're close to getting Lamela. If Chelsea come in.......

I'm now paranoid that they will try to steal our targets.

Jaffa, if we ever shall accidentally cross our 'feet' on some European (or Brazilian in the distant, retired future?) pitch and you wear said shirt, I shall think of you as some ultra conservative catholic on a mission.

Meanwhile in the Bundesliga, Dortmund beat Bremen 1:0 yesterday, missing target about fifteen times (great chances indeed), dictating the whole game. Bremen with only two chances: one in the 45th and one in the 87th minute, and very close ones too.

Also Hertha has gotten some bad press because of a Lolita story published by Berlins yellow press/ tabloid B.Z. (which is on very bad feet with Hertha since the relegation two years ago). Story got repudiated already (with the 16yo girl taking accusations back) but still lots of trouble in Hertha-land. Man, why? Everything worked out fine until now.

Like you stole Liverpool's?

LOL. Willian never had a medical nor did he go see their facilities. They either didn't agree with Anzhi or if they did he rejected them when Spurs went in. Also, AVB had tried to sign him at Chelsea and last January.

Liverpool and Spurs could both use him. Chelsea don't need him. Mata, Oscar, Hazard, de Bruyne, van Ginkel, and Moses. That's not even all of them.

It's clear that Mourinho is worried AVB will beat him. Mourinho failed at Madrid. If his own protege beats him then he might just crack under the pressure.

Superb. If we're good we get thunder sticks.

Pah. :(

Thundersticks are still less annoyong than the horns they sell at Crew Stadium. So it could be worse! ;)

It's a game, and in this particular game Chelsea are always going to win because they can pay any price and are already in the Champions' league. Spurs bumped off Liverpool's bid by offering more money and selling the club as more attractive from a competitive standpoint. Chelsea just swooped in and did the same to Spurs.

I agree that Chelsea don't need him. But they can still use him. And if by buying him they also rob a rival, so much the better. That's the way it goes.

Chester <3 !!!

Congrats to the first three points of hopefully many more, Jaffa.

It's the way they did it. If they wanted him they could have signed him a week ago. Instead they let him have a medical and some say he was at Tottenham's HQ ready to sign. His agent is Kia Joorabchian. He was probably in contact with Chelsea the whole time and always had the intention of stopping Willian from signing.

We defended brilliantly, I honestly forgot we only had ten men for much of the match.

Much anti-'Hull City Tigers' feeling in the ground - chants outlining where the owners could shove their new name, stickers plastered everywhere... strangely enough, the scoreboard featured the doctored crest during the first half but after complaints on Twitter it was changed for the proper crest at half time.
