I can't see Alabama stopping Clemson's high powered offense. I know Alabama is favored, but I think Clemson will win out. They seem to be on a mission and like other teams/years destined to win out. I could be wrong (I frequently am on these things), but my gut tells me that Clemson will be the victor.

That's what I'm thinking. I thought for sure in the first half that this would be a close game, and then idk what happened to Michigan state. They just didn't show up in the second half.

Poor Oklahoma though. After that fake punt they just lost it. Craziness.

Was also really annoyed with people calling Clemson vs Alabama a glorified SEC title game. No. They're in different conferences. That's just as much nonsense as saying Oregon vs Ohio State last year was a Pac-12 or Big-10 championship.

Last time I heard someone tell me that Alabama hasn't faced a team like "X", Alabama destroyed that team in the championship game. We all know what we're getting from Alabama. The question is, does Clemson know what they're getting? There's defense, then there's Alabama's defense and I think Michigan State learned that first hand.

I don't want to get into a SOS discussion with anyone, Clemson going undefeated is an accomplishment and I'm not going downplay that, but look at their schedule and there's is no team that they have played that even comes close to being or playing like Alabama. Clemson is looking at a beast they haven't seen in the season.

Regardless, this is another game that isn't necessarily a give-me and should be fun to watch.

It's like last year all over again. Result of that was a 42-35 loss.

Alabama is perennially good, but they're far from unbeatable.

I think for the most part MSU had lived a charmed life this year, they were lucky to win a number of games (other then the OSU game of course). I'm not saying they're a bad team, but I think some of the wins were just that the ball bounced their way

First, whoever thought that Alabama was going to walk all over Ohio State is an idiot. Second, and this is my opinion and everyone is not going to agree but Ohio State is a better team than Clemson regardless of record. Clemson is good and we will see if they can match up with Alabama, but Ohio State was built to play teams like Alabama so everyone knows what is kind of expected. Regardless of how good Clemson is on both sides of the ball, it wasn't built with the idea that it needs to stop the powerhouses in FBS, instead it's more of let's just be good and win our games.

Go back to the Notre Dame/Alabama title game. Notre Dame was a good team, everyone was going on about how good their offensive and defensive line were based on how they won their games and how Alabama, that year, didn't face anyone with the talent that Notre Dame had. Well the truth turned out to be that Notre Dame didn't face anyone that had the talent Alabama had.

I see this Clemson team the same way. Sure, they went undefeated and ran their schedule but no one from that schedule, September through to December, even comes to close to being on the same level as this years Alabama team.

But, looking at facts, this isn't a cake walk for Alabama. It should be a good game because Clemson is undefeated for a reason but would I be surprised if Alabama won the BCS in the same fashion as they did the Cotton Bowl? Absolutely not because that's what Alabama does in title games (Texas, Notre Dame, LSU). Nick Saban is undefeated in title games and there's a reason for that.

January 11 can't come soon enough.

So what the heck was ABC's problem during the OSU/Notre Dame game? That was the weirdest-looking game I've ever seen. Much of the broadcast had a blue cast to it. Anything that was supposed to be black -- the referees' pants, shadowed parts of the stadium -- were blue. Never mind the things that were supposed to be blue, like Notre Dame's jerseys. If it weren't for the gold helmets, you'd've sworn you were watching the Minnesota Vikings.

I've seen individual cameras that were not calibrated before, but not a whole multi-camera broadcast. Looked like ABC was trying to simulate a Viagra side-effect or something. :D

One year ago, Alabama's players and many fans were looking past Ohio State, taking a win for granted. That wasn't the case this time. Consider what happened on the Alabama sideline near the end of last night's game. Two Bama players almost got into a fight with each other over the importance of preserving the shutout. One of the two, Dillon Lee, made an interception in the final minute. The difference this year is attitude.

Each time Bama has won since the loss to Ole Miss, naysayers have claimed that t's because their opponent wasn't that good after all.

Does this mean that Alabama is sure to beat Clemson on January 11? Absolutely not - Watson and his teammates will be very difficult to contain, so the game can go either way. But regardless of the outcome, I'm proud of what Alabama has accomplished this year considering that they weren't given much of a chance last summer.

Christian McCaffrey was robbed. Hopefully that doesn't happen again next year.

Iowa had a reputation for having a very strong defensive unit, no? He ran through them in Pasadena like they weren't even there.

Would have been fun to see Stanford get a shot at Alabama, but they fumbled away their chance against Oregon. Oh well.

Nice bowl games this season, though at this point, I quickly lose interest as other facets of life take over. I'll probably not get too jazzed up over the national championship. I think Clemson is going to win, though I'll be rooting for Ala.

Man, he was amazing.

I think the punt return for a touchdown was my favorite McCaffrey play from the Rose Bowl. He never looked like he got into fifth gear running downfield — it was 60+ yards of elusiveness. His instincts and reaction times are out of this world. Even better, he's still only 19 years old and will get even better physically.

Congrats to Ala. I had posted that I thought Clemson would be the victor earlier in this thread, and I was wrong. I also posted that I was rooting for Alabama, but I just thought Clemson would end up on top.

I'm glad to see I was wrong, though it took the 4th quarter to break the game open.

Three big mishaps ruined Clemson. Was a good game!

Unfortunately for me, it starts so late, (and I get up so early) that I cannot stay up and watch the entire game. I was up at 4:30am yesterday and I was exhausted. I had got to "sleep in" today and got up around 5:00am.

I don't know that I'd say that the game ever broke open, despite the late two score lead. Watson was a far more formidable opponent than many Alabama fans were expecting going in. And if Clemson's onside kick had panned out, they could have won. Bama wasn't dominant by any means, but they did what they had to. Their onside kick (a surprising play call), Coker's TD pass to OJ Howard, and Kenyan Drake's TD stand out.

Roll Tide, and see y'all next year.

Well, Saben certainly cemented his place in Alabama, and while I don't think he unseated Bryant, he's definitely one of the best coaches.

I think Lane Kiffin will have no problems finding a job as a HC next year either, my only hope is that he grew and matured as a coach, so the games he played at Tenn and USC are a thing of the past. He's done a great job as the offensive coordinator.
