Well, I guess that Bama really pissed off Ole Miss last week, because they sure embarrassed Georgia today.

Alabama played their most complete game yet. It was good to see that they have depth at RB - Joshua Jacobs ran for almost 100 yards. And I was pleased that Adam Griffith made the 48 yard FG—he'll called upon later in the season when it really counts.

Wow, I changed the station and put on a different game when I saw LSU through that game winning touchdown with 1 second left. I wake up to the news, that the play was reviewed and they didn't get the snap off in time - Auburn won the game.

That seat under Les Miles is getting hotter and hotter. I suspect, he'll not be around next year.

You're right...because he was fired. Not surprising. He was very close to being booted last year. This year LSU had to be near perfect so the loss to Auburn definitely didn't help. It will be interesting to see where the program heads from here.

I saw that last night, tbh, I'm a bit surprised by the firing - at least because it was done so early in the season. I think the AD just threw the season away at this point.

I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, but now you have a defensive coordinator being the head coach, no OC, and and they need to fix the offense. I'm not sure how they're going to do that. I also wonder how many of their players will transfer out of LSU who felt the firing was wrong

I thought that one of the two head coaches - Miles or Malzahn - might be fired after the game Saturday night, though it might take more than one additional loss for Auburn AD Jay Jacobs to pull the plug. It'll be interesting to see how the team responds. LSU is out of the playoff running, but they could spoil another team's chances.

You and me both! I would have thought they would have at least let him finish off the season and then let him go. I will be surprised if LSU does anything this year.

I think this is the most crucial part of this all. The guys who are already on the team know the system so they'll continue to do what is expected of them, it's the recruits/commitments that are the building blocks moving forward. Hate/love him, Les Miles was a figure head in the SEC/NCAAF and I'm sure he's part of the reason recruits want to go to LSU but with him gone, no one is going to be surprised if recruits start to rescind their commitments.

So, is Lamar Jackson for real? Through 4 games, the QB for Louisville has the following stats:

1,330 yards passing, 13 TDs, 3 INTs, 526 yards rushing, and 12 TDs.

I'm not knocking him, but those numbers seem too good to be true, and I'm waiting for him to back down to earth. Of course I thought the same thing with Cam Newton and Auburn and look how that turned out

Wow, Washington crushed Stanford. I didn't see that coming, and while Stanford had to play without their starting corners, their offense failed to show up for the game. I'd say it was more about Washington dominating them, then Stanford playing poorly.

football becomes very monotonous - stopped to watch two years ago

There goes Christian McCaffrey's hope for a Heisman...

I kinda felt bad for Rutgers, I know they're Big 10 now, but it just felt like they were a community college against the Buckeyes.

He can still have a shot, but he did take a major step backwards. Stanford looked so mediocre, thanks to Washington.

Man, the Clemson vs. Louisville game was a real nail biter! Very exciting to watch!
I fell asleep before the end of the game, and I was switching to the other games in the beginning. It seemed Louisville was a bit overwhelmed by the atmosphere in the beginning of the game. I will give Clemson their props though they looked as good as they did last year

He'll still be in the running by even with the loss (to a lower ranked team), Lamar Jackson and LOU have a relatively easy schedule and I expect him to ball out the rest of the season. I think Jackson takes the Heisman this year and it helps that he's a QB.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but he's only a sophomore and you're right, Louisville has an easier back half of their schedule. That might come back to haunt him when it comes to voting time.

As for McCaffrey's chances - he needs to step it up, given his poor numbers this past weekend.

Georgia 3-2 under new coach Kirby Smart.
Miami 4-0 under new coach Mark Richt.

I think Georgia really messed up in firing Richt. He's a proven winner with 145-51 record (83-37 SEC) in his 15 seasons at Georgia

I said this when Georgia fired Mark Richt. As coach, he was fine he just needed to hire the appropriate coordinators so if you wanted to fire him for not being able to do so, fair but him as a coach was not responsible for Georgia underachieving. As a Miami (FL) fan, I was ecstatic when they hired him knowing he was going to improve the U, just didn't know it would be this soon.

I'm not surprised Miami is looking so good under Richt but I agree, turning the team around so quick is amazing.

I didn't get to watch much football yesterday, I saw that Miami lost a close one last night :( and Houston lost to navy, so their play off hopes are now dashed.
