We play St. Louis City SC next weekend... I've got to pay more attention for I had no idea they existed... lol

Congrats to City for their treble, and a page in the history books. I guess Newcastle is next.

Rodri is arguably the best no 6 in world football right now. And probably a step above Fernandinho and Touré for City.

Can we now settle the debate about Lukaku being a great forward? average at best. Still mind boggling that a combined £175m was spent on him by Utd and Chelsea.

Inter were actually very good and deserved more. But Lukaku managed to...head straight at the keeper, blaze wide, and block a certain goal from his own teammate in the few mins of his cameo

Personally, i felt a sense of awe when Fergie, Liverpool, and even Pep's Barca did the treble. But yesterday...didn't really feel anything *shrug*

Behold! Football’s history! But also… behold! The astonishing power of the iPhone 14 Pro!
And, a little bonus for you: the Palace of Venaria.

I am sure there are some of you that live in countries where teams have also done the treble in recent years, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter Milan (all from 2008 onwards). My question is, did the countries media do the same thing as the UK media by claiming that the team, it's players and the manager was the best in the world? because what I have seen coming from UK online media is plethora of articles talking about how Man City winning the treble makes them the best team in the world and probably the best team that have ever won the European Cup. Did the German media do the same when Bayern Munich did the treble (twice), did the Spanish media do the same with Barcelona when they did the treble (twice) and did the Italian media do it when Inter Milan won the treble. Or is it only the UK media that goes to great lengths to try and tell the world that it is one of their countries teams that is the best for winning the treble.?

The UK media are shameless.

They love to wax lyrical about every little 'success' and hype every potential success. Its why English players crumble under unrealistic expectations. Its why English players are priced higher than their global counterparts.

The same media will quickly turn on you once the narrative suits them and gets them more views.

Meanwhile, R.I.P. Berlusconi. Involved in some nefarious activities. But loved and made Milan a juggernaut in the 90s and noughties.

Also in Serie A, Ranieri has managed to get Cagliari promoted to Serie A. Appointed back in Dec. Club was 14th. Now promoted

Agreed

Also too true.

Amen to that.

Not sure that I can express respectful regrets or condolences even though one prefers not to speak (or write) ill of the dead.

I have enormous respect for Claudio Ranieri as a man and as a manager; bravo, well done Claudio ranieri, and well done Cagliari.

Yes, Rodri is superb.

Agreed.

He hever seems to have been able to deliver at the highest level.

However, it is funny how the his assumed worth - stratospheric prices - was in no way affected by the reality of his performances on the field for a variety of clubs.

Likewise.

Well well well … Mabpe might be sold this summer. Harry Kane dream move to Real Madrid might be in danger lol.

Claims that PSG will sell Mbappe to anyone but Real Madrid. Wouldn't mind seeing him at United one bit, but I think he'll force through his move to Madrid in the end.

Certain "friendly" media sources claiming Sheikh Jassim's bid for MUFC has been accepted, but I'm sure many twists and turns lie ahead.

I don't think the EPL can afford him. Nor do i think he's interested...yet.

Calculated move now that Benzema is gone and there's a glaring hole to be filled in Madrid's forward line.

He knows he'll likely never win the UCL at PSG...even more so with Messi gone and Neymar mentally gone.

If he goes to Madrid his chances increase considerably, especially with the formidable team they're currently assembling for the next 5 yrs.

Its brutal but ambitious. And i respect it.

Which club can seriously afford Mbappe? I can only think of Real Madrid or Man City. And maybe some Saudi clubs which Mbappe will surely reject.

Newcastle could never make it work under FFP. It's going to take them some time to grow their commercial revenues enough to allow them to make the big, big ticket signings.

If city were really going for the jugular, would they sell Haaland to Madrid after one season and buy Mbappe?

In my opinion Haaland wont leave until he has won everything that the club can win. All he needs now is the Carabao Cup and the FIFA Club World Club Cup. If he gets them, being still young as he is I think he would move onto another club to see if he can do the same thing.
