We’ve signed Kehrer from PSG. A defender and we need some strength in depth there. But I wish West Ham would sign some players that were easier to spell!
Good grief: £400,000 per week.Adrien Rabiot deal seems to be off. Rumours are he wanted around 400k/pw which was not gonna happen.
...now switched to 30yr old Casemiro for €60m and almost double his current salary
Give them Bruno but they have to take Ronaldo as well! And rumours are Real now want Bruno to replace him.
£100m on or get stuffed.
Yes, it is grimly and grotesquely hilarious, isn't it?Give them Bruno but they have to take Ronaldo as well!
Have to say I’m enjoying the soap opera that is Utd.
I empathise fully, and feel the same way.Unfortunately we won the first leg of our Europa Conference League tie. I was hoping to get knocked out at the first round by playing kids.

Now Casemiro is a very good signing. I was always jealous of Real Madrid having him to rely on in their XI, really fantastic player. I haven't seen confirmation on the wages, but it's a 4 year deal with a 5th year option. He already makes a dynamite central pairing with Fred for Brazil.
Real knows exactly when to sell players, but I get the impression they didn't want to sell Casemiro just yet. Still, their midfield is loaded with young talent, they'll be just fine.
Panic buying is one thing, (and is, in a way, both ghastly and grotesque, yet is also ludicrous and ridiculous), but - in fairness - Eriksen made a difference - a significant difference - to Brentford last season, and, personally, I would have loved to have seen him remain with them, for the club (genuinely) wished him to stay, and he had more than earned his keep, and proved himself with them.I guess it's better than Eriksen as a CDM. But £60m just shows Utd are panic buying.
All these late-stage players using the desperate English clubs to engineer their last big contract moves.

No argument re the absurdity of the (outrageously and obscenely) expensive "transfer strategy"; my only quibble was with the fact that you had cited Eriksen (rather than any of the many other ludicrous cases) - whom I think actually "earned his spurs" in the context of last season, - when Brentford had the courage of their convictions to sign him, and he more than justified the risk they took in signing him - not least, given the terror and tragedy of his own horrific health issues earlier.Agreed Eriksen has nothing to prove and may yet flourish further with Casemiro alongside or behind him. Since Casemiro isn't a 'baller' and is more an enforcer.
But singing a 30yr old for big money means you will likely have it all to do again in a few years. Also they tend to be more prone to injuries with longer recovery times.
Of course there are exceptions
Point being...the 'transfer strategy' is throw money at a big name signing and hope it works.
Understandably with 2 weeks left, its all needs must i guess.

Perhaps, it is the reluctant romantic in me, but I would have loved to have seen him remain with Brentford.
Mea culpa; I did misunderstand.Nothing but respect for Eriksen and i think you misunderstood me. I meant Eriksen being used as a CDM was never gonna work so having a dedicated player in the position is better. Eriksen is better suited up the pitch
Remember, Arteta worked under Pep for a number of years; I would imagine that he has a good understanding of how some things work at City and seems to have enjoyed a good relationship with quite a number of the City players.Must be really nice to make high-level connections in football.
Pep doing Arteta a MASSIVE favour by sanctioning the sale of two quality players for basically market value. No over-inflated fees, no hassle.
Although i guess its only fair re- Nasri, Adebayor, Clichy etc
Arsenal really looking good so far.

And, given that City are still recruiting, not all of their players will wish to remain, especially if they can no longer be guaranteed first team football.
Arsenal are doing extremely well. If Liverpool continue to struggle you could clinch second behind City. I had them as third in my pre season predictions. Jesus has been an excellent signing for you.Another win for Arsenal, 3-0 against Bournemouth; this is their third consecutive victory (and - but all too briefly, I suspect, also today's win also finds them perched at the top of the table) and possibly their best start to a season for years.

We really need a win tomorrow. Hopefully the win on Thursday will have boosted the confidence.
