Both my wife and I went from a plus to 6. Wife said the plus felt too heavy for her after two weeks of use. I could not carry the plus comfortably in my front jean pocket and it was too cumbersome to take it out. I still remember the moment I saw and held the plus for the first time. It was HUGE! I tried to get used to it but I did not want to change the way I use my iPhone because of the form factor.

I do agree that the sweep spot would be 5-5.2 inch screen with reduced bezel size - just like the LG G3, but little smaller. But I'm sure Apple won't change the design until two years later. Apple does not want to give you everything at once. They know people will still buy them...

I had a 6 plus, felt it was too big and sold it for 500 profit day after launch.

Then I got a 6. It wasnt a big enough upgrade and I got a new job so I knew the plus would be better for me.

Got another 6 plus, and started getting tempted by the Note 4 and its productivity options.

Tried the note 4. Loved the phone, but couldn't get over Android.

Now I am back to a 6 plus.

Dont be me. Keep the 6 plus.

I've got the Plus and have spent some time at a store holding both trying to figure it out. Sometimes when I hold my Plus for a while with one hand it gets a little crampy. Not sure if that will go away once my muscles get used to it. It is also making me change from one-handed use to more of a two-handed approach. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. I feel that maybe I should change how I use it to accommodate for the difference in size but I second guess that wondering if I am just trying to justify it. I like the bigger battery, screen, etc. It is also my first ever iPhone that I am using a case for, albeit a slim slim case - the Spigen iPhone 6 Plus Case Thin Fit ($11.99 at Amazon). That certainly adds a tiny bit to the width and comfort factor but makes it slide in and out of pocket more easily than a leather or grippy silicone case. And gives me a little piece of mind for scratches and bending. The 6 Plus fits in my front pocket of jeans and today I will take it to the gym and test it out there.

I will say that when I held the 6 at the store it suddenly felt small, though obviously not as small as the iPhone 5/5S. I was one who said I will never get a 5.5" and would choose the 4.7" but then did the opposite, swayed by the battery/camera specs and changes in landscape use. But I also always said I was more interested in a 5.0-5.1" screen and feel like if Apple had made the 6 slightly larger than 4.7" it would be easier to consider it. I don't want to feel like I missed out on screen size for the next 2 years. It's a tough choice. Hopefully my 14 days will allow me to make the best decision. Obviously I was lucky enough to get the 6 Plus at launch to be able to make the determination but I don't have a 6 to use as a test case.

Kinda off topic, but could you kindly share that wallpaper?

Thanks ;)

Did you buy the 6plus again on eBay?

The wallpaper on the display iPhones? That's a stock iOS 8 wallpaper. Should be on your phone.

Let me know if you can't find it or meant something else.

The screen on the 6 has noticeably fuzzier text when viewing macrumors mobile, for example. Very disappointing as it looks sharper on the 4 through 5S and the 6 Plus. This is not an isolated issue either, it is on all of them that I've checked.

Yeh, the wallpaper on the display iPhones. It's definitely not a stock wallpaper as I've just double-checked. :|

Thanks

it needs a case. it's unusable. too slippery and too thin.

i was holding my mom's iPhone 4S without a case and it was so perfect in the hand. perfect thickness and not slippery.

apple messed up on the material choice.

I've been caseless for a few weeks now with the 6+ and you get used to it. When I put a case back on it is actually less comfortable to use.

Once you get over the fear of dropping it then it's easier. Figure I have two accidents with Applecare until it's an issue.

I have to laugh when people say this because the 6/6+ is as slippery as the original iPhone, which you obviously never had. So Apple messed up on the material choice on the original iPhone too?

Tbh I too had this same sentiment on the first day of real world use, however I stuck with it. And now I can't really imagine myself going back to a smaller size. Once I'd accepted one hand use is not always going to work, it became less of a burden.

Yes they did.

And yes I had the original too. Don't assume.

When I bought it, it was so slippery

I just checked and it is the first one in my iPhone 6 Plus under "stills".

And I would assume it is on the iPhone 6 as well. I assume you are running iOS 8. Not sure if an iPhone 5 or 5S running iOS 8 would have it.

I think I know what's up :) You're right, it's the stock iOS 8 default wallpaper. But, I got confused because the picture you posted looks like a blue version, not the purpl-y colour it actually is. I didn't notice it until I looked carefully.

Here's your picture:

I think it looks better in blue though so I might do a bit of photo-shopping to change the colour.

are you using display zoom?

How so? I'ved managed to carry the original iPhone naked without shattering it and am doing the same with my 6.

it's the material choice + the thinness that makes it difficult to hold. if the phone was as thick as the iPhone 4/4s, then it would be fine.

the original iPhone was slippery, but the thickness allowed me to hold the phone without the fear of dropping it.

I think it was. Is that the roost of the problem? Would make sense.

display zoom makes the 6 screen appear to have the resolution of the 5/5s. All of your text will become fuzzy, as it is being stretched to fill the screen, and act like 1136x640 resolution.

That is my biggest complaint about the 6 thus far, app developers are way too slow to update apps to take advantage of the added screen real estate. I've got maybe 4 apps that have been corrected for the new screen size, and the rest are just fuzzy. At this point, my 5s is much easier to read.

I was pretty set on the plus untill I realized its not as easy to travel with it seems like you have to carry it in your hand everywhere

That was my problem that I could not solve, for girls it's a lot easier they carry purses but not for most men

That's weird... given Apple's 'automatic resolving technology' for text, why wouldn't they apply that to display zoom mode so text automatically becomes sharp while the rest is zoomed (pixelated)

I cancelled my 6+ and ordered my 6 at the ore order stage... When I got my 6 I instantly knew it was the right choice...

I agree it is a lot slippery... I have almost dropped my 6 a few times... Been lucky so far... The original iPhone wasn't as big and wasn't as thin... :p

It's not so much the thickness but the rounded edge that makes it more difficult. They're both equally slippery IMO.
