It doesn't seem like there are many replies to threads with the reverse scenario, returning the 6 for a Plus. Probably cause one cannot locate a Plus in the right configuration to do so or even one close.

It looks like I will be returning the 6 in favor of the Plus. I am just happy to be able to have tried them both. In store trial isn't enough, it is too limited and too short of a trial period. They aren't going to let you stay overnight either. :)

It seems I have a two year head start on most people on this forum (owned a Note 2); yes the larger form factor takes some getting used to, but I don't make many phone calls using the earpiece, its usually through my car bluetooth or headphones, so that's not a big deal to me.

Watching videos, gaming, browsing, any annoyances you may have in regards to making phone calls go out the window when you do anything consumption-related.

I also love having a larger viewfinder when taking pictures; i mean if you want anything resembling good shots, you need both hands on a big phone or small phone alike, right?

I also find that having a tablet is redundant when you have a larger phone, so that means less hardware to carry around. I do carry around a Win8 x86 tablet because even to this day, there are things an Android or iPad can't do that a Win8 tablet can.

Has anyone had success in making a return after the 14 day window?

Yes. I returned mine on day 30 to the Apple Store. I should mention I bought off contract so there weren't any contract issues to deal with. It was no hassle with apple. They didn't care.

Having come from an iPhone 5 to the 6+, it is a huge leap. However the 6+ is freaking awesome. I've grown tired of squinting into small screens and love my 6+.

Now, I have very small hands for a gent and I have physical ailments in both hands and wrists and find the 6+ to be much easier to use and less painful to hold than the 5.

Is there anyone else like me who thinks that the 6 is to close to the 5 size to not consider it?

Just thought about doing that as I want to exchange my Plus for a 6 but tomorrow itll be 31 days since purchase, do you think ill still be able to exchange?

I am returning my 6 Plus today for the 6. I wanted to try out the Plus for myself and decide for myself.

how can you buy something and just return it because you didn't like it? Where I live at best you are going to have to sell it back as used.

Give it a try all they can do is say no, I also bought the 6plus had it for a week and swaped it out for a 6. I loved the 6plus but it was just to big night wise to fit my daily life

Width was ok and if thy were able to shrink the hight I may still have the 6plus but I am happy with my 6 and do not regret switching to it

Is this a serious question? Do you live with your eyes closed?

Lots of countries do that.

I'm brazilian and if you bought something and didn't like it at the very best you'd get some sort of store credit. And that's only if the manager is really friendly to you.

I haven't got either iPhone yet but I'm leaning toward the plus and at only 3/4 x 1/2 inch difference in overall size it doesn't seem like a big deal to me, but I have yet to see a plus on display with it turned on. I do however appreciate this thread it should help me make up my mind in the next few weeks.

I went from 5s to 6 to 6 plus back to 5s and then finally back to 6.

I think I'm happy now.

I have both the 6 and 6+. I love the plus, but it looks like it's going back. It took me a while to prioritize my use case needs, especially since the novelty of both devices was so compelling. The in-hand feel and pocketability of the 6 work better for me, but there simply is no "better" 6. There is only "better-suited" for certain people and scenarios. Now everyone knows shr631's opinion on things and can sleep better ;)

I have 6 plus and absolutely love it. 6 or 6 plus is, I believe personal preference. I think 6 plus stock is much better now but it still is hard to find. If you are returning your 6 plus, you may want to ask around to see if anyone else wants it. They can get a 6 for you and you guys can just swap the sim. Just a suggestion.

Yes it is. What do they do with returned products? sell them as "new" for other customers?

Consider yourself lucky if you can do that.

Great thread. Prior to reading it I was convinced I would get the Plus. After reading this thread however, I'm leaning towards the 4.7" model. Not because I'm taking most peoples' word for it, but because I'm visualising myself in the same predicament as alot of those already posted and it is swaying me away from the Plus.

Based on what has been written in this thread thus far, it pretty much comes down to:

larger screen, higher res screen and better battery,

versus

portability, convenience and less lag.

Ideally, Apple could have struck a balance between the 2 and developed an optimised version taking both their strengths, but it didn't so now we are forced to choose and in effect forgo one set of advantages for another set of advantages. Is it too simplistic to suggest that in the next major hardware upgrade, Apple makes one model (only one) and renders it 5.1", ie add 4 inches to the 6 and shave 4 inches from the Plus? Meet half way? I don't know because at this stage I'm still using a 4S due to lack of supply in my city (Melbourne).

Even if Apple disregards optimising the 2 models in a future iteration and just took advantage of the extra real estate on the Plus model by adding software features such as split screen, widgets, etc etc, then that would probably be good enough for me, or, enough for me to put up with the inconvenience of less portability and 2 handed use.

I've played with both models in the store and the Plus felt and looked magnificent and I really wanted it. But again, I'm visualising myself using the Plus in everyday use and I can picture myself thinking "what an inconvenience the Plus is when on the go". This is not to say that I won't think what the heck and I get the Plus anyway, but the whole portability/convenience factor is starting to play on my mind.

No, they don't sell them as new to other customers. They get returned to corporate warehouse and they sell items like this in bulk auctions. They're not losing any money.

Totally spot on. You really have to try the phones for an extended period to get a feel for which one you'd really want. It's just not enough to play with them in store.

That's why you need to actually get a Plus and use it for an extended period of time. I don't understand how it's any less portable than a 6. Yes, it's bigger but we're not talking about the difference between a phone and a tablet. I have zero issues carrying the Plus around me have never once thought to myself gee, I wish this thing could be just a little smaller. Put simply, you get used to the form factor after a while.

If it is a big enough problem to you that you think you'll be happier with the 6 compromise, go for it.

It's your phone, you should pick the one that best fits all your needs (doesn't have to be perfect but has to be a good mix of what you want in your phone).

(hell, I was debating that on the 6 being too big <- I got small hands though and it cramps my hand to hold it for long in bed which is kind of a damper cause that's a pretty bad habit of mine to just read internet in bed before I get up. Ended up deciding the good stuff was worth the bad and I'd find some way to deal with it/change how I read it in bed to fit better. Not as good as my 5 in that regard but as I said, worth the compromise).

I had the 6+, couldn't hold it properly, so i got the 6. also, couldn't hold it properly, so i got an apple case. felt amazing.

traded my 6 for a 6+ with a leather case and it's now the perfect phone for me.

conclusion: this phone needs a case.

btw, i'm 6'3" with large hands.

Fixed that for you.

I have had my 6plus since launch day and I love it. Great phone.

it needs a case. it's unusable. too slippery and too thin.

i was holding my mom's iPhone 4S without a case and it was so perfect in the hand. perfect thickness and not slippery.

apple messed up on the material choice.
