I don't see that as bashing the 6+ or making other people feel bad about their purchase. It's an opinion. I feel the same as those sentiments to a degree. It's all a matter of taste. This forum seems to get personal really quickly as I suppose most forums do. But this is a forum about technology that is supposed to be fun and make life easier!

I guess it depends on whos ox is being gored, but agree to disagree.

wow that article must have been written by me hah I'm 6"1 and also use a medium golf glove :)

Ahhh, the golf glove is an excellent reference device. I felt that I have average/normal sized hands and couldn't understand why it caused similar sized males trouble. Just checked the tag on my golf glove and it's an XL (piano player fingers as they say).

So yes, OP, I agree with the consensus that the 6+, while being lustworthy at first, is an imperfect device for the majority.

OP checking back in here...so far great, respectful comments lets keep it that way. I wonder if they will change the 7 to a 5" screen maybe there will be no need to. we all know eventually something will change. I sure would love to be able to keep that screen size in something more wield-y.

I held the lg g3 for a day and it felt great...for some reason this is different.

The g3 is basically the same size as the regular 6 if memory serves. I'm guessing the giant bezel had more to do with design and symmetry for Ive than functionality.

I think my 6 is the perfect size but as a frequent flyer, the larger screen is so enticing. The problem is both phones are huge with a case. I'm very torn between the added functionality and the practicality.

I have spent the last few days debating what to do. I pre ordered the 6+ and got it on Friday. I absolutely loved the phone to start with and still do. The problem I was having was with one handed use. I love using my phone with one hand which I could just do with the + but it was a struggle to hold the phone securely and do it and to press the a on the keyboard. The best way I found to use the iPhone 6 + was by using it with no case but this is a risky thing to do with this phone as very easy to drop as not secure in my hand as was too big.

Any way after playing with a 6 in the shop for about half an hour and a few days of thinking if I could go back to a smaller screen I brought a 6 today and so far I have no regrets. I miss the huge screen but this thing is so nice to hold. The screen in still awesome and so far battery life has been good. My brother is doing the same.

I brought the phone in the UK so I am sending back to Aople for a full refund and have brought the 6.

I hope this helps you

Respectfully disagree. I don't get the sense that anyone on this thread is doing that. Everyone is going to champion their choice because they made it. I still want the 6+ and the screen it has, but it just didn't work. If it feels good to you get it. Nothing is going to be perfect either or do everything single thing we want it to. All a matter of perspective.

There are people on here that are doing that, dude. Not saying everybody is but there are some. Tbh, I say get whatever you want. After all, it's your hard earned money that's paying for it. But whats ridiculous is when somebody gets on here and goes "the 6+ is gonna be fail, my i6 is way better" I mean seriously? If you notice, you don't see 6+ owners on here making threads like that. I simply say be happy with what you got. The 6+ selling well, and there are people who truly like theirs. Bascially what's happening, is you have some i6 owners who trying to make themselves feel better about their purchase so they decide to trash the 6+ It's almost as if they're trying to convince themselves that they made the right decision. And again, this isn't directed at all 6 owners b/c not all of them on this forum are like that. But you do have some who are.

I preordered the iPhone 6+ and returned it on Monday for a 6. I have a note 3 and it started to feel smaller after using the 6+ all weekend.

I returned the 6+ and pickup ordered a 6 and got in line. I got the the grand central Apple Store at 5:30 Pm and walked out with an iPhone 6 at 9:10pm

My pickup order was processing still after waiting in the 2 hour pickup line. So the apple employee told me to just wait for the processing to finish. They told me there were like 400 orders ahead of me but because it said it would be available today, they pushed the order up and I got the phone. Solid of apple for hooking me up because I waited around.

Love the 6, it's perfect for me. 6' 1" 185. I love using the phone with one hand. Can't do that with the plus.

This forum while you have to wade through the bs and children posting opinion as fact has a lot of great posts and users.

Let's start off by saying I love the 6+ screen and screen size, man is it a great phone. I am a lucky one too my phone has no dead pixels, straight line on the back no bending :) this baby is in pristine working order. I own an ipad mini retina and when that and the ipad air first came out i went with the mini retina as it felt more comfortable to me.

I always said that if the mini retina was a phone as well I'd rock that puppy straight to the face for a phone call (in jest) so I thought the 6+ would be the right screen size. It really is.

The problem comes in the form factor I think for me, FOR ME FOR ME (I emphasize that as I welcome opinions) but I am not trying to impose my thought on the 6 being better or 6+ being better let's just know or assume they are the same phone with different screen sizes.

the 6+ with it's thin form factor it is basically too wide for me, I feel it difficult to hold for long period of times for both phone calls and general use.

I said when the rumors came out of the two sizes I'm going with the bigger because I could never own a 4.7 knowing that a bigger screen was available in the 5.5 (consider me excessive)

I guess my adult conscience is finally winning and leaning me toward the 6. out of all the posts I saw, I think I only saw one person saying they went from 6+ to 6 and regret it and want to go back to the 6+

Those that have exchanged was it easy to exchange at your store? did they give you a phone even if it did not necessarily say they have stock?

are you happy with the exchange and staying at 4.7 or thinking of going back?

*edit* not sure if it matters but I'm 6"1 180lbs am very sports active (normal to avg size hands Id say)

The 6+ was too big for me. I loved watching netflix and comedy central on it but it was just uncomfortable to hold, carry, text, etc. I got the 6 and am very happy with it. Bigger screen than my old 5s so watching stuff is a little nicer but not too big for me. That's my opinion. My co-worker who also got the plus thinks I'm nuts and loves it. That's why I love the 14 exchange policy. If you don't like it, switch.

I've been thinking about going from the 6 to the 6+ despite all the reviews and issues. Today as I was walking to work with an umbrella under my arm and Starbucks in my hand, I was able to fire off some emails and texts. I live in NYC so there is often a lot of time spent carrying stuff and multi-tasking. I questioned whether or not I could do that with the 6+ and not drop the phone. I guess I could order it and test it as well but judging by the replies it seems like it could be difficult.

However when I'm home on the couch I would love the bigger screen but I could then pick up the laptop or ipad.

Ugh. I have been a longtime phablet fan, I had a Note 3 for a while that I used as a mini-tab and backup phone to my iPhone 5. I preordered a 6 Plus and still waiting on it but I just went to the Apple store to get hands on time with both the 6 and 6 Plus.

While I still can type on the 6 Plus one handed, albeit much slower than the 6, and the screen on the 6 Plus was superior, the 6 felt PERFECT in the hand. I mean just the feeling in the hand is enough to make me now reconsider the 6 Plus. I could type one handed on the 6 as fast as my 5. The 6 Plus fit in my pockets with no problem.

I honestly feel that I would be happy with either, and for different reasons. I was picturing my self walking around town when I was holding each one, and the 6 feels like it would be much easier to use in every day situations, while the 6 Plus would be amazing to have while at home or sitting in a waiting room.

I'm torn now. I got about 45 minutes straight of hands on time with both at the same time, but sitting in the Apple store is not the same as real life usage. Now I feel the need to go back to the store and get even more hands on time.

I agree with this. The 6 for me is the winner in the hand but love the screen and screen size of the 6+

I came back from mall and they did not give me an exchange asked i return the next day. I'm still on the fence. I spoke to a friend that went to the note 3 from an iphone four and it took him two weeks + to get used to it. He said he wanted to return it within the first two weeks but glad he didn't. I wonder if I am not giving it enough time for hands to get used to it

I ended up picking up a 6 last night that I'm using right now to reply. The 6+ is still in my backpack as I'm walking through the airport waiting for my fight. Everything people are saying above resonated with me too. Love love the bigger screen and the battery, but something about the ergonomics just irks me, and I've found that the plus size detracts from the spontaneity of using the device, which is a bit disheartening. I have fairly massive hands with piano playing fingers and can uncomfortably manage one handed if need be, but my attention is on HOW I'm using it rather than just using the device. I love watching videos on it, but for texting, emailing, entering URLs, etc, the plus is just tough. I live in Manhattan and it's not easy thinking I would need to dedicate both hands to using my cell phone.

I have a week-ish to decide. If the battery can survive a heavy day (which it should do if the plus can do 1.5-2 like I've been doing), I'm guessing the 6 will be the winner.

this is kind of what i wanted to hear...you had the note 3 and had it for some time? as in were able to get used to that size? then the 6+ was not an issue of getting used to it, it just did not work for you?

That could be it but unfortunately we don't have more then 2 weeks to try it out. Would be better if it was 30 days return policy.

OP checking back in here...this thread has been awesome so far. Kudos to YOU for keeping this thread on point and having awesome adult responses.

Another question, I DO have the capacity of buying a 6 (from anywhere) best buy or apple even unlocked and then returning that one with the 6+ to get my att 6.

question is where are you guys finding 6's to go around? I thought I was going to be able to exchange today my 6+ for the 6 they told me to check back in tomorrow I could call and they would hold one for me (because of a communication error today)

but i would ideally like to have a 6 and not have to return the + yet so I can if I decide to stay with the + not have to worry about buying it back.

I've done the same and wasn't easy choice as I love the bettery life. Finding it hard to hold and miss texting with one hand.

Plus going back soon and Apple have sent a 128gb 6 out to me.

I was considering switching 6+ for the 6, until I purchased a silicone Apple case. I now feel less concerned about losing my grip, and the phone is less awkward to use. The silicone case doesn't add too much bulk, but just enough to make the 6+ more enjoyable.

I'm glad you pointed it out, but it bears repeating:

Of all the "I returned my + for a 6" threads, it is nearly 100% that folks DO NOT REGRET THE MOVE. Almost unanimously, people who dump the + are really glad they did (including people I know that don't even know what MR is).

If you are even considering it, do it. The 6 makes no compromises. It is the best phone I have ever owned. Hands down, no question, no apologies.

I've always thought I would try the + as my daily driver eventually, but between how great the 6 is and how much the + has against it (and frankly, besides the screen, it's adding up...), I'm not even going to bother this cycle.

Maybe if they make the 6S+ better it'll be worth it. For now, the 6 is the best thing going. It's not perfect, but it's a lot closer to perfection than the + will ever be.

I agree with a lot of people in this thread. I just got my 6+ 2 days ago and the screen size is amazing and I love looking at it. But I hate pulling it out of my pocket for texting or checking emails. It's so big that you can't discretely do it. I miss that from my 5. Maybe I'll get used to it, but I'm most likely going to exchange it for a 6 next week.

Same position here. Can't pull my phone out of my pocket anymore and use 1 hand to do some quick things like respond to a text. Called apple, no iPhone 6 available looks like I'll have to check everyday or just return my phone and order the 6.

Keep checking. I was in a store without stock, walked out, and rechecked in the app and it went from "not available" to in stock within 20 minutes. They had me out the door in no time.

Yeah but has anyone on this forum made any bad comments about the regular 6? There is a market for each and there is no need to justify yourself to gain validation.

I've got a regular 6 still in it's box and I'm tempted, but will give it time. I just feel that the Plus is a bit "delicate"

I read this entire thread and am shocked at how polite and on topic every single post has been. Someone should archive this and save it for future generations to read.

All kidding aside I had ordered the 6 and tried the 6+ before I went through with my purchase and though 6+ has a few extra features, for me it was to big for everyday use. Got the 6 and LOVE it.

Great thread, I agree. Looking to try the Plus since I own the 6 but I don't thing I'm going to be able to get hold of one before my return time period ends. I mean try it out in everyday use like folks have here, not just holding it and messing around with in the store.

I am going to bookmark this thread and bump it if I see it gets buried. Very insightful real world experiences will help others as well.

I replaced my 6+ with a 6 yesterday and it was definitely the right decision for me! I loved the screen and battery life of the 6+, and it fit in my pockets just fine, but ultimately I found it too uncomfortable to use. For example, using it in bed was awkward and gave me cramps. It also struck me how unstable it looked when I saw other people using them, seems like it could be easily dropped if not careful.

I was worried I'd find my 6 too small after downsizing from a 6+ and HTC One M8, but that hasn't been the case at all, the size is perfect for me.

However, I do think the 6+ would be a good replacement for people who carry their phone and iPad mini around with them.

The g3 is basically the same size as the regular 6 if memory serves. I'm guessing the giant bezel had more to do with design and symmetry for Ive than functionality.

I have grown accustomed to the screen and overall size of my G3. Problem is the iphone 6 doesn't give the screen size the G3 does, I'd have to go to the Plus and that device the overall size is too big.

Next year they will probably make both phones more rigid to fix the bending problem. By the time the iphone 7's come out I bet the 4.7 will be a 5.0" 1080p device -- which is the perfect size IMO. Would Apple decrease the size of the plus to say 5.3" or something and narrow the bezels. Who knows. Least they will narrow the bezels and make it lighter.

This year's 4.7 shoulda been a 5.0 1080p device. Apple always takes their time.

I'm still in contract but if I had to get a phone now it would be the 6. Even though I loved the plus screen at the store. I noticed I use my 5s phone one handed a lot more than 2 hands. Same as what others have said. It's easier to remove from my pocket and quickly check something. Easier to use it when I'm in bed lying down. Easier to check something on my phone when eating. I paid attention to how often I use it one handed and its a lot.
