No mention of...

...Mail.app?

So I could access .Mac mail through Safari *clunk, clunk* but can't have a nice convenient Mail client *ping!* on the iPod touch.

Hmmm...

Don't know about the reports of the iphone dropping 200, but I just called university village store in seattle and they were still at the higher prices.

Better stay there, paid 600 for mine what, 3 months ago?

Hello all,

I have two questions... I have an older iPod photo, as such I have been interested in a video iPod for awhile. To date, with all my music/pictures, I have used ~6 GB only. Yet I am, however, unfamiliar with the space required for videos, movies, etc.. I was wondering how many videos/movies one could expect to get into a 16 GB flash drive that is now being offered via the iPod Touch? Is 16 GB of flash storage considered "a lot", or is it more on the level of only a few full-length feature films?

Also, I am a long-time Newton user who has been (secretly) hoping for some kind of update for the technology through Apple. Since the iPod Touch has Safari and internet capabilities, can I assume that I can also check my email on the system?

Thanks all!!!

The Killer Application Wi-Fi + Safari + YouTube = Cataclysmic Sales

I predict this will be one of the most coveted new products in the history of products for sale - i.e. demand will exceed supply for more months than Apple or anyone else could have ever planned for. If you don't order it today, you may not get one in time for Christmas.

This is one of the most KILLER APPLICATIONS ever to come across a retail counter. ;)

It ranks up there with the WHEEL.

While 16GB is not much, the fact it can stream video off the web makes the storage thing not so important. At this point in NAND development, 16GB is the most they could do and I'm sure they will go to 32, 64, 128 & 256GB ASAP.

Actually I think I'm going to buy the touch, 16GB. Though that's lame low storage, I don't want the old dull ipod classic with 3 year old design

More news: they’re bringing the iTunes mobile music store to bring it to the iPhone as well. Oh, and there’s a partnership with Starbucks that they’re announcing today.

excellent!!

will that mean we can get free wifi at starbucks?!

Oh yeah, that's right. They're gonna release a new, flagship iPod and only put 8 gigs in it. For three hundred bucks, which is only a hundred bucks more than a sodding 8 gig Nano...

Are you on medication?

I think it's clear who's on medication.

apple just changed their frontpage at apple.com

at the bottom right it used to say "say hello to iphone" they just changed it to "say goodbye to iphone" :p

Well, us iPhone owners will be getting an update sometime this month. I wonder if anything else will be added in order to add appeal to the iPhone since the iPod Touch has many of the same features.

Bleh...hear a song you like in Starbucks, you can one-touch download it without needing to know what it is.

Was hoping for free Wi-Fi.

Starbucks integration: When you get near a Starbucks location, you’ll get a Starbucks icon in iTunes Store. You can buy songs that are playing over the Starbucks music selection, and you can even look at the last 10 songs that’s been played and buy the songs there.

hahaha, thats great
