Oh My God

What is going on, For months all i have heard on here is where is the new iMac and when is the new iPod touch coming out.

WELL THEY ARE BOTH HERE.

And yet some people are not happy.

Oh my god if you dont like the iPod touch buy the classic if you dont like that buy the nano etc. If you are an iPod user there is something in the linup for everybody.

My opinion the ipod touch is MEGA. I will be buying one and I think so will all the people here that are bitchin about it.

How do you feel they were tricked? They agreed that the iphone was worth the advertised price, apple sold them the iphone for that price. I see no evidence of trickery.

Yeah, there is no trickery, it's just customers. It's people. People are idiots, and if you've never worked retail you couldn't understand.

so im screwed since i just got an 80gb in the mail, when i could have waited a few days and got a 160gb for the same price.

damn. its a lovehate relationship with apple right now.

I don't get how other early adopters aren't mad about this price cut. We paid $200 extra for for not even 70 days of use. That is like buying another cell phone along with the iPhone. I think Apple did this price cut way too early and I hope everyone mad about this will take the time to contact Apple and let them know. I personally will not buy another Apple product on initial release again. Beware those buying iPod Touch, come January it might be $100 cheaper.

All good stuff except for the flagrant ringtone greed.

I love the iPod Touch and the new shuffle/nano/classic colours too. Not so sure about the nano's new looks, but I like the specs (should be a 16GB model though, but that's just a matter of time).

The iPod Touch + Ringtone madness probably means I'll not buy an iPhone for a while when they're out here in the UK.

On the iPod page, where the U2 iPod was located at the top, a picture of the new iPod Touch is there, with the tag of U2 iPod still there...haha...caught it at the right time.

Hah, it would appear that I was off-base in just about everything I expected to see today. Ah well, c'est la Apple.

So the iPod is now literally an iPhoneless iPhone. This one left me a bit gobsmacked, though the iPhone price drop is a nice end-run around the overlap problem. Still, no hard drive? Totally inadequate storage makes this one a non-starter for me.

Video on the nano? seems like a solution in search of a problem, but whatevs. I value what little eyesight I have left too much to watch video on something this size, but I'd like to see how it stacks up size-wise to the old model.

iPod Classic: glad they kept it, remains the only one in the lineup that really appeals to me. But 160GB? Do they really think they're going to sell that many of these? This HD should have gone to the Touch model.

shuffle: wasn't even right about this one. Damn.

I'm always glad to see the iPod line move forward, but I'm now left wondering what were were all getting so excited about.

If you were smart, you'd never buy 1st gen of any product if only to allow time for the bugs to be worked out. I see nothing wrong with apple charging a price they know many would be willing to pay, then lowering it shortly after to remain competitive. Early adopters usually pay more and are the guinea pigs for the new product. It's the price you pay for having the latest, greatest product.

um, we got a whole new line of ipods... what the hell were you expecting out of this?

I wanted at least a 2Gb Shuffle (hoping for 4Gb) or headphones with integrated Shuffle. I was disgusted that you have to pay for ringtones when it should be standard for iTunes to convert any music to a ringtone (why charge??). I also didn't like the Starbucks thing where it automatically tries to sell you a song when you are near a store (but hopefully, you can disable that feature).

I did like the iPod touch and they were cheaper than expected. Higher resolution screens in the Nano is nice too.

I'm glad I picked up a shuffle about a month ago, I was considering holding out for more storage
