Remember that Apple has a 30 day price protection, so if you bought an iPhone within the past 30 days, your good :D, if you bought it 31 days

So glad to not be working at the Apple store anymore. People will be raging to the poor sales folks as they always did with new product releases since they were tricked into buying the old stuff a month before.

um, we got a whole new line of ipods... what the hell were you expecting out of this?

Now I'm no longer sure. I was psyched up about the 16GB iPod (I don't mind the smaller size - I have a smart playlist that syncs only 10 hours of audio anyway to my 40GB iPod), but for the same price I can get the 8GB iPhone?

My wife's been bugging me to get a cell phone, AT&T are ok (better than Sprint) where I live and work, it comes with Mail and Address Book. I would be spending $50-$60/month for a new phone anyway, so I guess it's iPhone, here I come ...

Actually, although I say "I'm no longer sure" I became sure as I wrote this.

I think the 2+ months that I've enjoyed my iPhone is well worth $200. Now... others may have a different opinion. But considering that they're increasing its functionality, I don't feel too screwed by the price-drop.

Yeah I don't care about the price drop either, I got my iPhone and knew there was a possibility of price changes, there always are. Same thing happened when I bought a Garmin GPS, months later the price dropped a couple hundred, it happens.

I still have the best cell phone with a great Carrier, AT&T has been great worked great no matter what state I have been traveling too and now I can get an iPod touch! Nice!

Iphone sales won't suffer either, people are kidding themselves if they they will!

You think Apple stores will have the new iPhone prices already? And I mean the real stores not the online store. I wonder if they will offer discounted 4gb iPhones

no, at least the one I visited days ago doesn't, apparently it now offers T-Mobile hotspot, $25/month..

I stand corrected. But why go to starbucks when there are plenty of other places with FREE wifi like caribou coffee, cosi, panera? Do any of the starbucks offer it free?

And is it really only free access to the itunes store at starbucks? I'm not excited about paying for wifi service. Anywhere.

A $399 8GB iPhone likely means the 16GB $499 iPhone will be released next month in time of the holidays and Europe. Apple didn't announce it because they do not want a sales slow down. On the other hand, after clearing out 8GB models, a new version may even be released.

just got a freakin 80gb in the mail today. no i realize i could have got a 160gb for the same exact price.

any protection plans on this?

4gig iphones will be returned to apple - no chance the stores are going to sell them. Probably be torn apart and made into 8gigs, or just recycled.

Besides the general downturn in the stock market, Apple is down a bit from people who bought prior to the event who are now selling those same shares to get some quick profits.

There must also be some people buying to keep it from being worse.

The event was decent but not much of a surprise.

How do you feel they were tricked? They agreed that the iphone was worth the advertised price, apple sold them the iphone for that price. I see no evidence of trickery.

Well of course they won't suffer now with this price drop. I'm sure most of the ranting was before this ridiculous(ly great for consumer) price drop.
