Okay, now that's some good ****. Its good on just about anything you would otherwise spread butter (or peanut butter) on, not to mention that its yummy when just eaten out of the can.

*starts drooling*

I had a great dessert this weekend: sweet crepe with bananas, nutella, and chantilly. mmmm

Me likes nutella

Nutella is good... even straight from the jar... so i don't buy it often!

However, I did stop at Rococo Chocolates tonight and bought some chocolates for Easter gifts including their real hen eggs - where they blow out the actual egg and then fill the shell with chocolate :) I haven't decided whether to try and confuse people with them on Sunday or come clean and wrap them nicely :p

They were giving away small chocolates if you spent more than £25 so I had the most gorgeous truffle on the way home... argh, it was so rich that it was pretty much orgasmic; I got a very odd look on the bus

 I think that's the most loaded comment I've ever read from you! :D

Errrr! Hershy's is disgusting... really disgusting.

Although it could be said i've been to a lot the home cities of all the greatest chocolate :p and being a chocoholic eaten everything I still have to say that If i have a chocolate craving then only one does it for me: CADBURYS! Now, i've had cadburys in the US and canada, but its different from here. Godiva chocolates are nice, and i do like Mozart Krugel but cadburys!!! Milka is also nice though :p and Ritta Sport :D

:p It really was that good... If they'd been handing out more than one, I might not have made it home! Tell you what, next time I make it out to the Bay, I'll bring you a Rococo truffle rather than a Kinder Egg...

Have you any idea of the torture knowing that I have £30 of Rococo chocolate sitting on my sideboard and not being able to eat it?

Crepes with nutella and some sort of fruit are probably my absolute favorite thing about France. I just started salivating.

I don't love chocolate :) well not as much as I used to. Sandwiches are my vice now, but good ones, not those crazy sub or butter covered hot things. just regular cold British sandwiches. but good ones!

Now that's out of the way. Galaxy chocolate is pretty nice, but since a drive through Belgium once and sampling some very expensive chocolate I have to say that the stuff you get in most shops is just poo. It's offensive to even call it chocolate, should be called brown-sugar-cardboard (the design team are looking for a better name).
The closest I've found to the small chocolate makers in Europe are Lindor.

I say Lindor!

Godiva or Lindt, please.
In an emergency, Dove dark chocolate does nicely. Even their milk chocolate is decent. Smooth, and not as sweet as many other American brands.
Hershey's is only for total desperation.

A few years back, I took a bite of the generic chocolate Easter Bunny (Franklin's or some such brand) we'd picked up for our kid, looking for a little nostalgia. That stuff is rude. They should not be permitted to use the word chocolate on the box. I don't know how we ever ate it as kids even.

Ironic really, you get friends to bring you cadbury's from the UK and we usually stock up with Hershey's Chocolate Syrup in California when we go to the US for a conference there in March. Hershey's chocolate, on the other hand, tastes like cooking chocolate.

Thought Hershey's had a licence to produce Cadbury's in the US?

Not keen on dark chocolate on its own. Cadbury's and Galaxy are both good, normally priced ones, but different. Swiss and Belgian chocolate is wonderful, but expensive. How can one have a favourite chocolate? There's one for every mood!!

EDIT: PS. What are smores??

the hershey's cadbury line isn't nearly as tasty as the Uk product....i've done extensive research.:D

and a smore is basically a toasted marshmallow sandwiched between two pieces of chocolate and graham crackers. there's nothing quite as nice as making them while sitting around a campfire at night.

Lindt Excellence 70%. They do one with >80% Cocoa but I find that sticks to the roof of your mouth too much.

I've only had Hersheys once and hated it. Just tasted like cocoa flavoured cooking fat to me. Also don't like Cadbury's or Galaxy for the same reason.

I like the dark Chocolate Oranges though. They're very nice. :)

It's a deal! And then we'll hit up Anchor Steam? :p And just sneak one of those other chocolates... I doubt any of your recepients will even notice one or two missing ones.

mmm . . . well, if I bring the cadbury's . . .

I'm seriously counting down the days to the day after Easter. (I've never before wished for a Monday to hurry up and get here.) I'll be raiding CVS for all the leftover Cadburry candy.... Mmmmmmmm......

Oo interesting thread!

My absolute favourite chocolate comes from Hotel Chocolat. I'm in their tasting club which means they send you a box of 'experimental' chocolates every month with a menu, and then you taste them and score them if you want to.

I've just received THIS - happy Easter me :)

Oh...... that sounds DE-lish! If only it weren't a UK thing and like $30 USD a month.... :p

There is a chocolateria in Madrid called "San Gines" and it has the BEST chocolate.

It is liquidy like warm fudged and is intended to accompany churros, but it is OH SO GOOD plain

Not a big chocolate fan but I must say I like Dark Chocolate Wilbur buds every once in a while. Used to be able to smell the factory from my house before I moved.
