Not a big chocolate fan but I must say I like Dark Chocolate Wilbur buds every once in a while. Used to be able to smell the factory from my house before I moved.
That would be slightly sickening.

I can't believe I didn't post this earlier! The hubby and I went here once when we were on vacation, and it was DIVINE! If you're ever in the NYC area I would highly recommend it. As a taste, just imagine having some of the most perfect strawberries to dip into some of the best fondue chocolate. And then picture a range of wonderfully delicious chocolate desserts that fill the remainder of the many plates you will eat. And to top it off the entrees were delicious, too.... *Mouth drooling just thinking about it....*

how in the world did i miss this thread!
I loooooove chocolate, its my drug of choice :D
I like herseys for the price etc its really good. I love ghirardelli, yummmmm also godivia isn't bad as well...

Dagoba

No, not the swampy planet...

74% Cacao, chilies, and bits of cocoa beans.. mmmmm

For "junk" chocolate, I like KitKat bars.

The small choclatiers I visited in France were outstanding. I tend not to like Swiss chocolate as it is usally milk chocolate, and I like Dark.

Someone mentioned Scharfen-Barger, and that is excellent. I highgly recommend finding a local shop and trying some different types and percentages of cacao.

Oh, and "white" chocolate is nasy. Might as well eat wax dipped in corn syrup.

AHH! i'm craving chocolate now :(
My favorite two are basically all the dark chocolates from scharffen berger and green & black's (grr, i can't find anyone who sells them though, short of going to famima in santa monica all the time, but i hate that place, it's like a disgusting convenience store straight out of japan, specially designed to cater to japan-loving anime nerds or something, lol), but in a rush, i'll take a cheap hershey's bar :D
godiva and lindt are also yummy, and yeah, hershey's produces all the cadbury stuff over here in the US but it's nowhere near as good (seriously...on my british isles trip we all stocked up on the sweets...the cadbury stuff in the US is not as good as it is over the pond..)

I like godiva, ghirardelli, lindt, but I remember some great stuff at Harrods department store when I was in london, but that was so long ago.

green&black's, not scharffen berger, that's easy to find. famima is the only place i've found the former at.

Hmmm, maybe it's only at my Trader Joe's. Trust me, I know what Scharffen Berger is. ;)

I remember when I went to Tasmania (the little island bit at the bottom for those of you who don't know) and did a tour of the Cadbury factory. The smell as we walked towards it was awesome - like inhaling pure chocolate! Everybody said it was too overpowering, but I couldn't get enough of it!

i just realized my post sounded funny...to clarify:
i know you know, and i know where to get scharffen berger chocolate at, but i don't know where to get green&black's (which i also like very much) at anywhere but this store called famima :)

The UPS man just handed me a package from some friends of ours in AZ. They sent us a chocolate bunny from Vosges Haut-Chocolat for Easter. I'm sitting here right now staring at it contemplating eating it all up before the hubby gets home.... :p

Correction, correction, correction - not "friends of ours", but "friends of my husband (and thus my vicarious friends who have slowly grown to like me)."

As a side note, I think I may have found a new favorite chocolate...If anybody here is going to Italy during Easter (or any other time soon), please get me some!

It's a shame then that they sent you a chocolate bunny that has coconut in it then since you don't like the stuff... :D

Slowly grown... BAH! It was practically instantaneous! :D :D

Oooh, I'm currently snapping a wee corner off my Green & Blacks Dark 70% egg with a glass of red wine. Very possibly the perfect combination.

For me it has to be a dark, dark chocolate, paired with a glass of red wine or an espresso. :) I do quite like those proper coffee beans covered in dark chocolate as well.

You're all wrong. Milka is where itz at.

God I was just reading and couldn't belive that wasn't brought up! My friend brought it back from Germany when I was in 6th grade and still remember it! (ok wow I got a little to excited for that one) But then the other day I was walking down the forgin foods isle in Meijer and found it, so naturaly I bought 5. Its just so smooth and creamy/ perfect blend.

Now I just want to try the boutique chocolates everyones talking about.

I love this thread. I'm really not a huge chocolate fan, but because everybody kept mentioning Green and Blacks, I was intrigued. Lo and behold, my local Target had had a sale on them and I grabbed one dark chocolate 70% and one dark chocolate w/ espresso.

I'm in love. :D Thanks all for the recommendation!
