The big iPhone 5 + OS 4.1 wishlist and rumor list

I don't know if this has been brought up or not, but seriously. In iPhone OS 4.0. Please. Please. Please. In the name of all that is holy. Apple. Please.

Put in a download queue or something so you can download more than one ****ing app at a time. Let me select 15 different apps, put them in queue, and then let me hit download to get all 15 at the same ****ing time.

I do think the App Store could do with a little 'clean up' (no sales of an app after X weeks should drop off the store). The download Q would be great as you just mentioned. Landscape support will be nice to see the screenshots as if it was the App.

I want to see some sort of notification function like 'double click' to show all apps that have a notification. When you have an App on the 4 page with a badge, you don't see it.

We might get some answers about the next phone on the 27th.

I live in Columbus, OH and the local Fox affiliate reported last night on the 10pm news that the 1/27 event would include Tablet and iPhone 4G. I'm not sure that I believe them, but it seems odd that they would report speculated info like it was confirmed.

wrong. I got near everything I wanted for Christmas. my wishlist was just realistic. I didn't get the $50,000 car for my 16th birthday or Christmas, I got a used one but still a nice acura. I didn't ask for a PS3, Xbox 360, AND Wii. I knew (and know) what is logical and where to draw the line.

and finger scanner on a phone is too much. some things were fine, like the better camera and flash. but you need to know where to draw the line

before the official rumor started you probably woulda said the same thing about RFID... so who knows? you dont....(not for sure at least) what if they embeded it in the case such that when you held the phone the normal way it unlocked...is that unfathomable? im thinking not considering (like i said) RFID is on the table....

I dont think we will see anything re a new iphone. I think we will hear about the tablet and software 4.0...no new iphone

How often do you go downloading 15 apps at a time? A download queue is nothing I would ever use unless for some reason I started with fresh with a new iphone and decided to manually add all my apps back on.

A better notification system and more multitasking is all I care for.

multi-tasking and better notification when locked...

I would like to see some sort of 'info-screen' inbetween the search and apps pages. I quickly mocked something up to show the sort of thing I was thinking of.... Chances of it actually happening are very little I would imagine!

Not a wishlist, but my predictions.

Hardware:

Almost the same as the 3Gs. A better slighty better camera with flash, front camera. Maybe a slighty different design.
Next big update will come, when LTE will be accessable to the bigger part of people in major European markets as well as Japan.

Software:

Apple enables VoIP via 3G and annaounced VoIP data plans for the iPhone (T-mobile Germany actually already expected it for September 2009)
Better notifications
Customizable SMS and Mail ringers
Maybe background services for the 3Gs and new iPhone model

I also see the possibility that there won't be any major iPhone upgrade at all. If Apple was really to release a Tablet Mac, it would be the best for them to not focus their marketing campaign on the iPhone, but use all their efforts on the new tablet.

Does nobody care about screen resolutions? Think 320x480 will be great forever? With phones like the Nexus 1 pushing 480x800 and the Windows Mobile 7 phones pushing 720x1280 in a few reported cases, the iPhone really needs to step it up.

320x480 might be adequate, but when major improvements in screen clarity are easily done, why would we not want that?

There is one feature for the os I would like to see. & the is landscape mode for the home screen & so on... With the option to turn this off.

Just somethng whereby the icons rotate 90 degrees & you flick the screen. Also
for the landscape, an option for safari to stop the screen rotating. When I'm in bed or chilling & I'm at a comfy spot, I have to use
the phone in an awkward way. Only a grumble.

I don't know if anybody has already said this, but I really doubt Apple would offer a removable battery... Why?

1. Non removable = better design possibilities, not worrying about removable parts.
2. Non removable = more money for Apple when it comes to repairs
3. No apple computers or handheld devices have removable batteries... so clearly they have made up their mind on the matter already.

That's why I don't think they'll ever do it. Hopefully I'm wrong, however.

My #1 is Bluetooth file transfer and a new home screen, like this one

Actually, it is likely... Apple filed a patent for this sort of thing not too long ago. See my post above ^^^
Follow the link, in the comments somebody links to the patent.

EDIT: Here's that patent I mentioned.

I did not want to make a new thread about this so Ill post here. If no 4G is announced on the 27th is safe to go ahead and buy the 3G? Theres no way I can wait till summer.

It's a wishlist so I'll go ahead and put it, a verizon-compatible iphone and a cheaper or no ETF for the droid if switching to iphone.

What lockscreen is that?

Really not into wishing, as wishing or getting hopes too high has always proven to be a big disappointment.
I would like to see a few things happen:
1. T-mobile being able to use the iPhone ( Either Apple selling unlocked iPhones on their website or merging a deal with T-Mobile).
2. Front facing Camera (For video conferencing)
3. Better and more secure locking mechanism(Perhaps the inclusion with a finger scanner built into the front facing camera). Meaning , if someone was to find your phone and try and wipe it clean, the person trying to wipe the phone clean would need your finger that you used for locking/unlocking the device..
4. Landscape option to be universal on the iphone.

The rest I can live with or without...

What lockscreen is that?

It's not real, just something I mocked up to represent some sort of home screen that would sit between search and app pages, so you would swipe left for search and right for the apps

however the one that's a few posts down looks much better!

That info screen looks awesome! I wish apple would just do that, it's soo needed for the iphone (especially for calender).

Here's a few pretty small changes I'd like to see.

I want a dedicated field in the Contacts app to hold maiden name. Some of my contacts I know from way back and it would be nice to be able to search by maiden name.

I'd also like the ability to control how a name displays. If I have a nickname entered for someone, that's what I'd prefer to see them under in my contacts. A nickname kind of implies that I'm not used to using their real name, so why are they listed by that? But I still want to track their real name in the event I ever need it for more formal occasions.

I like the idea of the Bluetooth Transfer file. I just got off my iPhone 1G and got onto a regular phone and bluetooth transfer is awesome. There are so many features on my regular LG Neon that beat features on the iPhone and this is one of them. iPhone bluetooth doesn't do anything but pair with a headset. it would be nice to pair a keyboard, transfer files, or even notes to your computer. This is a great feature that I would like.

I would like to be able to grab photos from my photo library within the email app. When I decide to email photos to someone, the first place I always go to is email, not the photo library... I find it so annoying, I always forget and it gets me every time...
