[*]'Air'-inspired design
....
I would do my first camp out for this :D

Nice looking concept! But I believe it's not iPad Air inspired design. iPod Touch 5th gen is the first one to have this flatter back design. Then there is the first iPad mini, and trickled up to all current iPads.

I would love this design to be real. Definitely feels more comfortable to hold and less sharpie edges. Too bad though it can't be all aluminum. Plastic/glass rear surfaces still necessary.

Bigger Screen. 4.8 - 5 would be great. Any smaller than 4.5 would be a let down.

Swype - it's unbelievable they don't give us this option. Let us choose.

128gb or more storage

Longer lasting battery

More scratch resistant screen

Thinner bezel (but not a thinner device)

A more stable OS

Yes, Yes, Yes, SWYPE, SWYPE, SWYPE,

You nailed it perfectly.

Especially the Big Three:

1) 5" display
2) SWYPE
3) A stable, well sorted out OS.

Apple can do it, I _know_ they can.

The question is "will they?"

'Air'-inspired design

Looks more like a slick Samsung design.

It's very nice.

-Unlimited number icons on the dock like in osX.
-ability to change icons
- ability to arrange Icons
- ability to have multiple windows open at the same time
- more then 1gb of ram
- ability to add and remove stock or preinstalled applications

Bigger screen = more battery consumption.

Battery consumption rises in proportion to screen area ("squared") whereas capacity rises in proportion to battery volume ("cubed"). Short of really, really, really ****** HW design, a bigger phone will always have better battery performance than an equivalent phone with smaller volume.

Well, HTC had a good solution with their One. I would love to see an iPhone with a back like the HTC One.

I want an almost bezelless iPhone 6, something like the LG G2 or Moto X with the back of the iPad / iPod Touch / HTC One and a 4.5" / 4.7" screen with double the current resolution (2272x1280).

Samsung and LG are rumored to bring out phones this year with a higher than 1080p resolution, so it would make sense for Apple to double their current resolution.

Must: 128gb. Else im out. Tired of getting my iphone full every time.

Would need:
More ram- safari cant even hold 2 pc-pages open thats how bad it is.

Would like:
Bigger screen...much better gaming.
Less bezel.
More battery life instead going for thinner.
Chose between themes. Ios6 or 7 design.

Better chip, not a massive change in size but a significant one like 4.5 inch would be ideal. Better battery like my iPad.

This:

  • 'Air'-inspired design
  • 4.8" 1080p screen with virtually no bezel (definitely possible)
  • Dual- or Quad-core 20nm A8 processor (likely)
  • 2gb+ of LPDDR3 (or even LPDDR4) RAM (necessary!)
  • 128gb storage option (a hopeful and somewhat likely option, I think)
  • 12+ hour battery life (probably unlikely, since :apple: is always so proud to just have "up to 10" while making it "the thinnest phone ever")
  • Improved camera optics/sensor (likely, even if 8Mpx remains)
  • 24+ FPS full-res Burst Mode (highly likely thanks to the recent acquisition of SnappyLabs)
  • Quick Reply in iOS 8 (seriously...its about time we finally get this feature in iOS)
  • Expand the new "Reduce White Point" feature (found in iOS 7.1b3) to be more like (or even BETTER than) the f.lux jailbreak tweak!
I would do my first camp out for this :D

This, all of this. That render is pretty great too.
What do you guys think of the possibility of a curved design? Too soon?

This is my favorite concept. I hope this happens.

Aside from the spec boosts - I'd look for Quick Reply and an improved email attachment system. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied (ya, they could buy swype and incorporate it, but that won't happen).

A camera with a larger sensor and higher resolution. At least 11.3 MP, 16 MP would be better. Basically, the camera should be roughly as good as a decent point-and-shoot camera.

I am not bothered by having 128gb as 32gb or 64 will be enough for me, but an Air inspired design along with a better chip, camera and battery life and slightly bigger screen and I am ready to pay a lot of money for the phone ;) :)

Updated the list with what most people seem to want:

Hardware (in random order)
1) Bigger display, preferably beyond 4.5" (maintain at least 326 ppi)
2) A8 chip
3) Improved camera (better when 'shakey' [image stabilization?], low-light)
4) 1080p (instead of 720p) Slo-Mo recording @ 120 fps? 4K video support?
5) Improved battery life (more important than making the device thinner)
6) 32 GB - 64 GB - 128 GB models
7) New design, perhaps move away from the iPhone 4-like design?

Software (in random order)
1) Faster animations (it takes too long right now)
2) More support for Touch ID (payments? login in 3rd party apps? etc.)
3) If there's a bigger display: on the homescreen, not an extra row of apps but other features (perhaps a widget?)
4) Night mode: based on time and/or ambient light, change colours in iOS (so during the day, you'll have the white transparant menus, during night you'll have black transparant menus). It'll also be better for your eyes.
5) Quick Reply for Notifications

My own real wishes are they have a smaller version (4") but also introduce a larger version (4.7"), as long as they have identical specs and the larger one isn't better than the smaller one.

My wish as well. Let the people who want an iPad mini have those to carry around. I'm perfectly happy with the screen size as it is. If I wanted a larger screen size I'd go to Android.

Do you have some issues with spatial recognition or why do you keep believing that the iPad mini has a 4.5 to 5.5" screen? And perhaps you haven't read the spec sheet, but you cannot make phone calls with the iPad, which at least to me is a pretty essential feature on a phone...

The big iPhone 6 + iOS 8 wishlist

I bigger screen, at least 5.8-6 inches, improved camera and better battery.:)

I wouldn't mind something cool... hopefully Apple designs iOS8 with some new features to take advantage of the bigger screen instead of just re-designing everything to look better on a new screen.

here are mine

1. bigger display 5" maximum, 4.8 would do too
2. thinner, around 6mm area but thinner the better
3. one tone, no metal & glass combo - should be all glass or all alum
4. trimmed out bezel
5. 10 hr usage time
6. honestly i wouldn't mind it getting heavier. i don't like light phones. cheap feel.
7. as of ios 8, i don't really mind anything.

Hardware:
  1. 4.5"-4.8" screen, 360ppi-420ppi
  2. Improved camera optics
  3. Faster charging battery!! 15 minutes from 0% to 100%
  4. 2gb ram
  5. Enhanced 64 bit processor

Software:

Endorse jailbreaking, the rest will take care of itself!!

Hoping for this as well.

My point, bright guy, is that some people want the size of a Galaxy S4 in the form of an iPhone, and many/most of us don't want to carry one of those things around in our pockets, which is virtually impossible anyway.

If people want large screen phones, they're available. I'd rather keep the size of the phone one-handed.

By the way, this is my first post in this thread, so only don't ask me why I "keep posting" about the iPad Mini. And btw, It sounds like I made my point.

On these particular points, I really think the solution is two sizes. Multiple sizes are not a problem for everyone else, and not a problem for Apple with the iPad.

And, the obsession with "thinner" and "lighter" are real problems for improving the camera further. Both sizes need to be a little thicker and heavier. That gets you better camera and longer lasting battery.
