My wish as well. Let the people who want an iPad mini have those to carry around. I'm perfectly happy with the screen size as it is. If I wanted a larger screen size I'd go to Android.

Do you have some issues with spatial recognition or why do you keep believing that the iPad mini has a 4.5 to 5.5" screen? And perhaps you haven't read the spec sheet, but you cannot make phone calls with the iPad, which at least to me is a pretty essential feature on a phone...

My point, bright guy, is that some people want the size of a Galaxy S4 in the form of an iPhone, and many/most of us don't want to carry one of those things around in our pockets, which is virtually impossible anyway.

If people want large screen phones, they're available. I'd rather keep the size of the phone one-handed.

By the way, this is my first post in this thread, so only don't ask me why I "keep posting" about the iPad Mini. And btw, It sounds like I made my point.

so I'm guessing you have never seen an iPad Mini in person? or a Galaxy S4? because if you did, you would know that a Galaxy S4 is much much much smaller than an iPad Mini... COMPARISON

the point is, people like you keep saying a 4.5"-4.7" screened phone is a phablet or the same size as a tablet when they are clearly not. I think what most people want is a 4.7" screen in the same sized phone as the current iPhone (or even the Moto X). I realize your statement is likely hyperbole but I see it way too often in this thread not to say anything ;)

Go check out a Moto X and let me know if that is way too big for your pockets or hands. It likely wont be, because it shows that a phone can be similar in size to the current iPhones but still have a larger screen.

Here's a comparison of a Moto X next to an iPhone 5s OMG!! How can anyone ever fit that Moto X in their pocket! /sarcasm

so, to sum up: a phone with a 4.7" (or even 5") sized screen does not even come close to the size of an iPad Mini and can easily fit in ones pocket :cool:

I've seen both an iPad Mini and a Galaxy S4 (my sister has one), and I wouldn't want an iPhone the size of an S4. When Apple decides that's the way they want to go, unless there's not someone who sees the group of people who want (one) hand held phones, I'll go with the best other phone I can find.

I'm obviously being sarcastic when I say an iPad Mini, but I just don't want a two-handed phone.

well, you can control a Moto X one-handed ;) I have small to average hands and could do that just fine.

Yes, I hope the next iPhone isn't the size of the Galaxy S4, but it being closer to the size of a Moto X (or Moto G) wouldn't be a bad thing and I think many of the people who don't want a larger screened device would agree... I guess we'll see!

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I'm digging this up again. A bigger screen is great but the extra row of icons with the iP5 was disappointing. I trust Apple can do better this time. Maybe a dashboard screen in place of where Spotlight was pre-iOS 7, but I really like Windows' live tiles more than Android's widgets. Something like this concept would be a sweet spot in between for me but there's also the possibility of Apple doing something new themselves. I picture it being an exclusive "one thing more" feature for the iP6 or possibly iPads just because of the screen size, but that's not to eliminate the possibility of such a feature appearing on older models as well. We'll have to see.

My iOS 8 wish

Profiles.

Multiple, customizable profiles that can be switched easily.

One for work, one for after hours, one for night, one for weekends... With the ability to set ringer on/off, select which apps will trigger notifications, etc.

I just need a bigger screen even if it's not slimmer. As long as the screen is wider. hihihi :D;)

Well, for starters, the larger one will have a bigger battery, thus better battery life.

Actually it may not because it has a larger screen than the smaller one thus taking more battery power. And assuming they have the same design, they would be proportional meaning they will have identical battery life. Also look at the iPad mini and iPad Air...iPad Air has a larger battery but the screen is bigger so it takes more power...they both have identically the same battery life of 10hrs

i want it to be the THICKEST smart phone in the world ...

seriously though i don't care how thick it is i just want it to last more than 24 hours of intense all day use. If it was twice the thickness of the 5/5S i wouldn't care.

This improve the do not disturb options with the ability to schedule it daily or add profile options

I don't need a bigger screen but I want others get their wish so have two models with same specs but different screen size

The ability to move pictures out of the camera roll without a jailbreak app

Better camera for distance shots

Add a black and gold color scheme

As someone who has always prefered Android phones but is thinking about making a switch when the iPhone 6 comes out, this is what I would like to see Apple improve or catch up to Google:

- More keyboard functionality. Right now, this is an area where Google is much stronger, having swipe functionality. I do like how Apple will finish words, but Google still has a better prediction mode, even on their stock keyboards (though Swiftkey is the best).

- Larger screen. If the rumors are true, this will be a big win and would really make me think about picking the iPhone 6 over the Note 4 this fall/winter.

- This one probably won't happen, but it would be nice to have the option for widgets and more live wallpapers than what come with the iPad air.

- Although I do like the folder option on the Apple launcher, I wish there was a way to hide apps or even have an app drawer.

I'm definitely interested and excited to see what Apple comes out with in the fall. I currently have the Note 3 but will be eligible for an upgrade in December, so I'm going to go with either the 5.5" version or the Note 4. It's up to Apple now to take the next step after being leaped by Android in the last year.

I would really like to see them add the Google unknown number search feature that appeared on the Nexus 5. If you get a call from an number that isn't stored in your contacts it searches the web for it and displays who is calling. Fantastic for avoiding unsolicited calls.

Can this be disabled? Sounds like a privacy nightmare.

- Reworked UI with trendy nonsense out and haute design in again;
- Ability to choose default apps;
- iCloud and Apple Maps that are at least as good as Google's services;
- Some kind of widgets/dashboard/"Now" screen;
- Some kind of a user-friendly take on file management;
- Swype-esque keyboard;
- Quality onboard speaker;
- Usable iTunes sync functionality on Windows;
- More wear-resistant case.

I agree with zipa, I fail to see how this is a privacy nightmare. You already get the incoming calls phone number displayed (unless they hide it) and you can Google a phone number on the web already. Most businesses advertise their phone numbers online so you can call them, this feature just marries the two so you can see who it is before you answer.

It appears that I'm in the minority, but I would not be comfortable with all of my inbound and outbound calls being automatically logged by Google in an attempt to ID the caller just so that they can fine tune an advertising profile.

Hardware
-water proof
-unscratchable/dropable
-the look of the picture on the first page

IOS8
-custom control center
-get rid of gamecenter
-the ability to trash items on your springboard (so I can stop making a folder called junk)

II really like my iPhone 5C's design and i really like the "iPhone air" design picture above. I think I would like that design although (maybe it's just me) but that picture "iPhone air" seems awfully thin and I would be curious about the battery life on such a thin device.

They're really able to pack more battery life into devices while keeping slim these days. Battery life on the Note 3 is fantastic and is the thinnest phone I've ever owned.

To me would be battery life most important. Bigger screen would be nice but only if it's the sane high res.

This.

While the "things I miss about my Blackberry" list is a relatively short one, this feature is probably at the top. A simple, not-distracting-to-others, non-vibrate type notification when new emails/texts come in.

I got one, sold my 5S bought a Moto G :)
