Bigger Screen. 4.8 - 5 would be great. Any smaller than 4.5 would be a let down.

Swype - it's unbelievable they don't give us this option. Let us choose.

128gb or more storage

Longer lasting battery

More scratch resistant screen

Thinner bezel (but not a thinner device)

A more stable OS

These and Swiftkey. It is great. Widgets would be nice too.

I really want a notification light on the front, like my galaxy currently has (and my BB I had a while back). I want to be able to have different colors for different notifications, including different colors for certain people for texts.

Bigger screen without lowering pixel density. Ability to calibrate screen. Ability to unflatten design elements and play video on half screen. Daylight readability would be great.

If screen is same in size I'm getting a samsung!

Hardware:
-Same screen size, this is why I got an iPhone. I don't play games or have bad eyes so I don't want to carry around a 5" screen.
-Wireless charger that would look good on my work desk.

Software:
-The old month view in calendar app back! Such a pain now comparatively.
-10 day, 24 hour hourly outlook, and radar in weather app.
-The smart address book or whatever android calls it where if a business calls me it puts in the company name.
-The ability to access photostream on iCloud.

Both:
-Make passbook useful. This would require some time since companies would have to start adopting it but if iPhone got onboard it would happen quickly I'm sure.

In order
1. NOT a bigger phone or screen. Smaller phone or screen please
2. More comfortable to hold; the 4 and original iPhone were very comfortable. 5 is not. The edges are too hard, it is uncomfortable slide, and the metal is more slippery than the glass back was.
3. Longer battery life
4. 128gb option would be awesome; would negate having to use iTunes match and streaming in unreliable areas
5. Touch ID SDK
6. Improved camera, as always.
7. Ability to resize custom wallpapers
8. Improving iOS color scheme etc so it is less bright/quick moving

If they do a notification light, it should be a pulsing border, home button, or apple logo

I don't know why everyone "needs" a bigger screen (and yes, there are multiple references to how the iPhone 6 "has to have", "needs" or will be "dead" without it). Its made it this far. Thats the LAST thing I want on my phone. I am considering going back to the 4 or sticking with the 5s, depending on if they release a touch SDK.

Cant have both sorry to say if you dont want a bigger phone. Battery tech is way too far behind to do miracles in a small body. Agree with everything you said other than I want a bigger screen. 4 is too small, 4.5 or 4.7 is great. Battery life must improve! Apple will follow suit with bigger screens, need it for longer battery life and better resolution.

Why we want a bigger screen is simple, for the 2 reasons above and a better viewing experience. Sure Apple will still cater to those who want the small 4inch screen with some kind of other version with less specs.

HW
1. Longer battery life
2. Bigger screen
3. 32 GB base model
SW
1. Customizable control center
2. Under-the-hood improvement
3. Way to deal with "other" junk that takes several GB from me

My list

Software:
1) Customizable video recording resolution in Camera

Hardware:
1) Waterproof
2) Way to make an emergency call with only home button
3) USB 3!!!!!! (Think about this: The 2014 iPhone is slower at transferring data to/from a computer than the 2001 iPod which featured FireWire 400!)

Bigger screen, that's all I want. What I'm noticing now is that I'm not using the iPad so much and I'm back on the iPhone for a lot of web browsing and youtube videos.

Think iPad is on the way out for me (relegated to occasional book reading), and a bigger screen iPhone would suit me just fine.

Interesting that no one has asked for a sapphire screen yet. If Apple comes out with one for the Iphone 6, it would be a big selling point.

Smaller screen at 3.5 - 3.7.

Will not happen, if you really want displays like that pick up a 4S, Budget Lumia or stay with the 5c/5s and live with the 4 inch.

Seriously ,4 inch is the minimum nowadays to comfortable work in apps and browsing the web, and the majority of people want a bigger screened iPhone.

Like people said numerous times before, if Apple does it smart then you can get a 4.5-4.7 inch screen in an iPhone which is 99% the same size as the current 5s, so the argument of '' I want a pocket phone so no bigger screen '' doesn't really matter.

I had various 4.5 and 4.7 inch models and they are as pocketable as the 5s, just gotta work smart with the space on the front of the phone, and current iPhones got quite some bezel left and right which could be terminated to house a 4.5-4.7 inch screen.

This is not a predictions thread. It is a wish list. Obviously, Apple are not going to go back to a smaller screen.

Personally, I want something more pocketable than the 5 series.

Battery Life definitely!

What good is a phone that does the entire world, control your house, make payments at the store, etc if it can't last until 4PM?

I consider my phone my "primary computing device", and it shouldn't drop more than 50% just listening to Spotify on the bus.

Blogger screen phablet size...
Battery life like ipad air....
Ipad air design but serviceable....
32-64-128 gb
Sd card reader for music
Sapphire screen
No bezel
Liquid metal body
Wacom pen?

IOS 8 more communication between Siri and third party apps
Control center for lock screen without airplane mode ( is stupid now )
Multitasking and multiwindows
Data sharing via Bluetooth natively (also for android)
Most of these not going to happen

My Fave concept:

iphone-6.jpg

Edge-to-edge 4.7" display, 768x1366 @ 326ppi. This means the phone stays the same size but the screen can become larger. 326ppi is fine considering bigger screen = further away from eyes.

Why 768x1366 though? App optimization. Developers have to rethink their apps to work at that resolution, much like they did with the iPhone 5's odd resolution. Apps can't just be quickly ported over from Android: work has to go into redesigning the app around the iPhone's screen. That's exactly what Apple wants.

iOS 8 renders Homescreen with 48px between icons (horizontal) with each icon 132x132 in size (12px up from current icon size). Navigation and Status bars are the same height as before, meaning views are more 'spread out'.

NFC is a must this time round! My bank has just released mobile payments for NFC enabled phones. I know often apple likes finding there own way of doing things rather than paying licensing fees but with pay pass/pay wave everywhere the infrastructure is already there waiting!

This:

Image

  • 'Air'-inspired design
  • 4.8" 1080p screen with virtually no bezel (definitely possible)
  • Dual- or Quad-core 20nm A8 processor (likely)
  • 2gb+ of LPDDR3 (or even LPDDR4) RAM (necessary!)
  • 128gb storage option (a hopeful and somewhat likely option, I think)
  • 12+ hour battery life (probably unlikely, since :apple: is always so proud to just have "up to 10" while making it "the thinnest phone ever")
  • Improved camera optics/sensor (likely, even if 8Mpx remains)
  • 24+ FPS full-res Burst Mode (highly likely thanks to the recent acquisition of SnappyLabs)
  • Quick Reply in iOS 8 (seriously...its about time we finally get this feature in iOS)
  • Expand the new "Reduce White Point" feature (found in iOS 7.1b3) to be more like (or even BETTER than) the f.lux jailbreak tweak!
I would do my first camp out for this :D

Yes, Yes and Yes... Wow you hit my wish list right on the nose with this post. the ipad air like design, 4.8 screen and even quick reply in iOS 8. :D Now if Apple would make it happen that would be glorious

Been thinking more about this. What I really want is an iPhone with a screen large enough to read books on, enjoyably. Then I really could do without the iPad.

Was looking at some Samsung models. I think they have some that might be large enough to do it.

I had notification lights on my Blackberry, Galaxy S3 and S4. It's a handy feature. Apple probably doesn't want to expend battery energy on it. Someone should figure out a way to use the pixels on the screen to flash different colors. Not sure of the difference in energy required.
