That and the Simpsons (and Family Guy, for that matter) are all progeny of Moose & Squirrel. Weekday, prime-time evenings, politically pointed, challenging of authority, all pretty much created in the '60's, and not rediscovered until Groening and Parker & Stone came along. And not a moment too soon, either. :D

It warped the minds of all of us young 'uns that spent our time soaking it all in. Parents and our elected leaders were none too fond of it then, either...

The more things change, the more they stay the same. ;)

And Happy Tree Friends...

I'm using it now! VERY COOL! Just one thing though... The menu is too long... See what I mean below. Very cool though!

The width of the menu changes depending on the length of the title of whatever you're copying/pasting, so it can't be perfect. It's meant to just look good when you don't have anything clicked up there.

:)

Going to see it today at 1020am. Can't wait!!!!

So far the only ones I haven't really liked, or should I say didn't do anything for me are Ratatouille, A Bugs Life or Cars. The Incredibles is by far my fav followed by the two Toy Story movies.

SO Excited!

I'm finally going to go see WALL-E today!! I'm a HUGE fan of all the Pixar films and I'm sure this one won't let me down.

Just saw it with the fam. It was cute and entertaining. Not much dialog but thats okay.

Just a little tidbit. The CEO of Buy'n Large had these periodic announcements he made. Despite all the computer animation I feel like these little announcements were live action and not animation. Where they live action or where my eyes deceiving me?

I think that it was live action as were the Buy'n Large cruise commercials...Its not really the first time that they do that in movies

Everybody laughed when Wall-E booted up.. I was surprised so many people recognized the noise.

Pixar has made another artistic triumph with Wall-E. For those of you into all things Mac, you may notice a subtle but humorous nod to Apple that occurs twice in the movie, when Wall-E boots up.

I thought I counted the start up chime three times...also, the voice of the auto pilot sounded a lot like a Mac voice but I'm not 100% certain on that

Yup, three times.

And yea, I was reading somewhere about the Apple references (that's how much of a nerd I am) and they mentioned that auto's voice was from the mac voice.

What I found interesting about this film is that with the possible exception of "The Incredibles" it is the first Pixar film that at it's core is a love story rather than being about self discovery and redemption. So it was nice to see them change things up a bit.

I found the lack of dialogue to be amazing. To tell a story, at least the first half, using mostly character movement and action is really impressive and made for some great visual gags, like with the spork. As someone else pointed out the scene in the supermarket, while short was incredible; the way it went out of focus and appeared to be shot using a handheld cam is nothing new but to realize it was done with cgi blew me away.

It is a great movie.. I can't understand why the production budget is $180 million...

Every budget number I've seen is $120M, only the NYT seems to believe the $180M number. In any case, any movie that takes that much time and that many likely well-paid people ain't cheap. I'm sure the rendering farm for a Pixar film is devoted to that one film, and by the time they're done, the equipment's due for replacement. Look at the production budget of most popular video games, they're equally lofty.

Just got back from a showing and wow, totally blown me. What an absolutely amazing and delightful experience. Good for the kids, adults and even the kids within the adults. What an awesome experience! Now to find a beautiful wall-e windows wallpaper.....

Just got back from a packed theater. This was a great movie. The story was good and Pixar did really well with the whole voice limitations. Bravo. I loved it.

My wife and I saw it in a theater with a digital projector (DLP) and it was truly amazing (I can't even imagine what the resolution on that thing was). Makes me want to go to the movies again actually.

Also the Jonathan Ive designed robots/spacecraft interiors were gorgeous. That's the way I'd like the future to look at least. And Eve herself was beautiful. I liked the subtle Apple loading ring around her collar (right below her floating head).

I would definitely say that this movie is a masterpiece of body language for film. What an absolutely fantastic film. Great job Pixar!

Oh and by the way, Buy n Large

I've been waiting for Wall-E since I first saw those teaser trailers in theaters a year ago. I went with my girlfriend and another couple to see it and wow, I was blown away. I love cute films but am by no means a diehard CGI fan. Wall-E to me is just beautiful to look at, yet so cute and original that you can't resist. Definitely the best movie I've seen this year by far, and I think this movie will live on as older CGI films fade because of the manner of expression between the robots and very limited use of words... Ugh just thinking about it makes me want to see it again! :)
