That and the Simpsons (and Family Guy, for that matter) are all progeny of Moose & Squirrel. Weekday, prime-time evenings, politically pointed, challenging of authority, all pretty much created in the '60's, and not rediscovered until Groening and Parker & Stone came along. And not a moment too soon, either.
It warped the minds of all of us young 'uns that spent our time soaking it all in. Parents and our elected leaders were none too fond of it then, either...
The more things change, the more they stay the same.![]()
I'm using it now! VERY COOL! Just one thing though... The menu is too long... See what I mean below. Very cool though!
Just saw it with the fam. It was cute and entertaining. Not much dialog but thats okay.
Just a little tidbit. The CEO of Buy'n Large had these periodic announcements he made. Despite all the computer animation I feel like these little announcements were live action and not animation. Where they live action or where my eyes deceiving me?
I think that it was live action as were the Buy'n Large cruise commercials...Its not really the first time that they do that in movies
Everybody laughed when Wall-E booted up.. I was surprised so many people recognized the noise.
Pixar has made another artistic triumph with Wall-E. For those of you into all things Mac, you may notice a subtle but humorous nod to Apple that occurs twice in the movie, when Wall-E boots up.
I thought I counted the start up chime three times...also, the voice of the auto pilot sounded a lot like a Mac voice but I'm not 100% certain on that
(that's how much of a nerd I am)
I'd recommend Best Man in Grass Creek if you want citified-dude-learns-something-from-country folk. That's off-topic. sry.
It is a great movie.. I can't understand why the production budget is $180 million...![]()
My wife and I saw it in a theater with a digital projector (DLP) and it was truly amazing (I can't even imagine what the resolution on that thing was). Makes me want to go to the movies again actually.I found the lack of dialogue to be amazing. To tell a story, at least the first half, using mostly character movement and action is really impressive and made for some great visual gags, like with the spork. As someone else pointed out the scene in the supermarket, while short was incredible; the way it went out of focus and appeared to be shot using a handheld cam is nothing new but to realize it was done with cgi blew me away.
Anybody know what that chord is? If I remember from Music Theory right, wasn't it a 1st (2nd?) inversion Cmaj?![]()
