Hey everyone, so I'm with Rogers and want to switch from my 2 out of 3 years contract with Rogers (Blackberry) to iPhone 5. I really want to switch because the Blackberry has been giving me some rough two years, and paying $70 was just not worth it. I'm seeking a 64gb, because this would be the most useful for me.
I checked the site and it says..
I called Rogers and they said that $100 would be an "early upgrade" fee for me. So, does that mean I would have to pay $379.00 + $100 = $479.00?

On a typical upgrade there is a $35 admin fee as well. So you're overall upgrade cost would be 379+35+100. That's after a $50 rebate. On your bill it would show up as 429+35+100 and then the $50 rebate will reduce it to 379.
Yeah, its stupid. I work for Rogers, and basically the price of the phone is $50 higher, but then the rebate brings it back down to what it is supposed to be.
How is my math off? I was referring to the $50 rebate reducing the 429 -> 379.
Not so much your math is off, hence I edited my post, but what you posted makes no sense. Re-read my quote and do the math. Just a typo is all.
Nope, please let me know if you have any success! Here's my luck in Ottawa so far, all in the east end:
Innes & Lanthier: Didn't have any
Tenth Line: Had them but wouldn't sell
St. Laurent mall: Had them but wouldn't sell
Kiosk in the Gloucester (Blair/ogilvie) mall: Didn't have any
Ogilvie Rd: Didn't have any
Place D'Orleans mall: Didn't have any
Both places that wouldn't sell them argued that it is one less phone they can sell on launch day, which only makes sense if they are ordering nanoSIMs in a 1:1 ratio with iPhone 5s. If that is the case, Rogers is totally going to screw every single customer that pre-ordered from Apple.
Let me know if you find a store that sells them!
The service at Rogers was terrible. Apparently new customers are not allowed to pre-order any phones? After spending three hours on the phone, we drove to a Rogers store and they still could not help us.
Instead, we pre-ordered the iPhone 5 through Best Buy. Super friendly service and very helpful! First on the list for the 32GB in my area!

I ordered my Black 32GB iPhone 5 through Rogers.com on Saturday morning. I hope I don't get mine too late!
Also, multiple reports are saying that the lightening-30 pin connector is not going to be included. Any knowledge otherwise?

I'm from Edmonton. When I got the 4S, I just went to the Apple Store at West Edmonton Mall and they gave me a micro-sim for whatever carrier I wanted, no charge.
I went to the Rogers kiosk and they were going to charge $10.
They'll be available on the 21st.

This happens every year; Apple says they won't "ship" until the launch day. Really, what they try and do is ship it to you FOR the 21st. Sometime, people even get their orders a day early. It happens every year with every product.
No one is allowed to sell before the 21st. Go to the Apple Store on the 21st (don't wait in line
, tell them you ordered online and need a nano-sim.They'll hand one to you for free.

If your expected delivery says Delivers 9/21 - 9/25, here is the delivery date map (link below). If it said ships in 2 weeks, it will likely ship in 2 weeks or less from the date of your order.

I preordered my unlocked iPhone 5 yesterday and it still says "processing" with a delivery date of Oct 11th...damn! Couldn't do an early upgrade and wasn't enticed to begin a new activation so I must wait....
On a side note, I picked up a Fido LTE Nano-Sim from the Wireless Wave in Erin Mills Town Center...they seemed like they have a lot.

I preordered Friday morning from Rogers and was given #1255. Not bad I thought, I just looked now and I am #374 - not feeling so concerned now
When I preordered I was #709 -- how do I check my current number?
Just log back into www.rogers.com/myrogers and click the "Reserve" button for iPhone 5. It will bring up your "profile" and show you your current number, or "In Progress" if it's started the shipping phase.
I ordered mine at 5:30am EST on Rogers, and I was 75 for Black 32GB. Mine shows "In progress" right now.

My order went through at exactly 12:00am and i'm still "Preparing for Shipment". I'm thinking there are a few reasons for this.
1. They are leaving from one of the US stockpiles most likely in Illinois.
2. No point in giving out tracking info yet, it will just cause Fedex a headache in calls and emails.
I'm confident it will arrive on friday (in Vancouver) the same thing happened with my 4s last year. I got it at 10:00am on the Friday.
