Was just at the Apple store they claim to have no nano sims yet, Fido said the same. Surprised Apple did not ask during the order process and deliver a sim.

Can Apple Store activate the nano sim on sight too? Or I have to go to my carrier to get it activated after grabbing a "free" nano sim card from the Apple Store?

I just want to see if I need to do two trips to get the phone working, or I can get it all done at the Apple Store

Track ups or FedEx by the billing phone no. As reference

FEDEX tracking requires you to enter the shipper's account number, which none of us have the knowledge of

As of 10AM PDT on Monday, the order status has again switched from "Processing Items" to "Preparing for Shipment". Delivery to Vancouver.

Mine has as well, and it's also delivery to Vancouver (16 GB, Holiday Shipping).

For anyone looking for a Virgin Mobile nano sim.

Just went to The Source, where Virgin mobile said they had sims available, and they said they have none and have no idea when they will have any.

I called a Virgin kiosk and they said they do have nano sims in stock, but they are not allowed to give them out until the iPhone comes out. He told me when I get my iPhone, bring it in with photo ID and they will give me a sim and connect it to my account. I'm assuming this goes for all locations.

So we order online to save standing in line, but Apple suppies no sim, so we stand in line to get one?

Ohh the confusion! Lemme get this straight ...

If you buy an unlocked version, do you get a free nanosim from apple in the box? Or was that for the people whom have preordered carrier locked phones?

Only carrier locked phones get sims and since none of the orders on Apple.ca are carrier locked, we just get the phone.

Normally thats not an issue as your current sim will work,
But since Apple changed the format they will not.

Apple should be sending the needed sim with the phone?

When a unlocked phone is purchased in store they give you a sim if needed, why not online?

They gave them with LTE ipads as part of the ordering process.

You can just fill in the country and postal code instead of the account number. Some guys in the US have already tracked via FedEx using this

If your order status says "Delivers 9/21-9/25" and you are the 21st delivery zone then you will get it on the 21st. UPS has been doing this for a couple of launches now and they have it down to a science. I wouldn't worry about it.

There were a bunch of us last year that live in zone 1 that never got it till the Monday/Tuesday. They shipped on the Tuesday/Wed for a Friday launch.

I just checked my order history and I pre-ordered immediately when the 4S came out (October 7, 2011), but my two iPhones didn't even ship until the official release date (October 14, 2011). I seem to remember receiving them on the Tuesday after that, but my shipment notification says I received them on the following Wednesday. And I live in "zone 1".

The fact that we haven't received any shipment notifications has me worried that the same thing is going to happen this year, regardless of Apple's delivery map.

Possible Sleaze involved with Nano Sims

I am aware now that the iPhone 5 will be sold to contracts only on sept 21, here is the problem, I phoned Apple to confirm this, and they did, they also informed me that they have had some people cancel their phones because the carrier had told them, they will not sell nano sims to new unlocked phones, just contract phones, I did not get a name of the carrier or carriers, now Im not sure what to believe, but the past behaviours of Robelus makes me think that this just might be true.
Is it possible the carriers are using the nano sim to lock people up in a contract, when it comes to business and sleaze Robelus will leave you in awe.

This is what I heard people, and Im just passing it on, I cant confirm if its true or not, like I said, don't underestimate Robelus for sleaze, I ordered a unlocked black 32 gig 5, I have a plan already but Im not locked in, Ive always owned my phones outright as I travel a lot, and buy sims with prepaid buckets of voice and data in different countries, I just wondering how this is going to pan out.

I highly doubt that thats the case. Some people have been able to obtain nano sims already. And theres always the option of walking into an Apple Store (with an invoice maybe?) and asking for a sim there. I'm pretty sure they won't refuse.

I hope this is the case, can you tell me what carrier.

Thanks

Call Apple Canada to complain they should offer sims online?

I went to Fido today they told me to contact Apple, who told me to contact Fido.

Apple knows we need the nano sim, offer it online with the phone sale.

Guys i ordered on Friday morning around 10am EST through Rogers a 32GB Black.
My initial number was 3125 and i'm now down to 1950. It dropped big time in the first 24 hours and now is slowly dropping a few numbers every now and then.
Status says Open.
I absolutely want the phone on launch day so this morning i had the genius idea of calling future shop. Most of the future shop in my area had a bunch still left available for pre order. You just go to the store leave a 50$ deposit and they hold one for you on launch day.
They call you the day before to confirm.
From what the guy told me every store has 20 for pre order and will have 20 for customers walking in.
So for anyone looking to get one on launch day just go to Future Shop or Best Buy in their Cell shop department.
Most of them still have quite a few left for pre order for launch day.
So now i'll have mine on launch day guaranteed and will just cancel my online Rogers order once i pick mine up at Future Shop.
