My order went through at 12:00am PST (3:00am EST) on the 14th. Placed it on the iPhone Apple Store without any issues. Thank goodness because I was out at a bar half drunk...

Just checked my CC. Still on pending, and the order on Preparing for Shipment. Its obvious none of the Canadian orders have been shipped. Pretty sure they are shipping from a close location thats why they have not change status.

Why would Apple have a "close location" for Canadian orders, and be shipping all the US orders direct from china? But perhaps they're shipping in bulk to the states and splitting them up from there.

Just on the phone with Telus, and they're still claiming orders done before 7 (am? pm?) will be delivered on launch day. We'll see. I trust apple knows what they're doing, not so sure about Telus and mass launches...

When I ordered my AppleTv it came from China. Went to Memphis I believe and then to Mississauga. Took about 2 days total to get to me in Toronto from China.

Curious to know how many Apple.com orders have been charged to people's credit cards? I ordered right at 3am EST and my credit card has not yet been charged. I am however at the "Preparing for Shipment" stage.

Apple does an Authorization (known as a pre auth) for the total invoice amount at the time of you placing your order. This places a temporary hold on the funds, but you'll find that it won't actually post to your account.

Authorizations typically fall off after 5-7 days if the transaction is not posted, making the funds available to you again. However, the authorization code the vendor (Apple in this case) recieved when they did the pre Auth is valid for 1 year, allowing them to post that transaction to your account at any time, even in the event you don't have the available credit when the transaction actually posts.

Typically, for Apple Online orders, Apple will do the Pre Auth, but won't post (complete) the transaction until after the item has been shipped from the warehouse. So, many of us that watch our credit card activity closely will probably see the authorization fall off by Friday, making the funds available to use, only to have the transaction actually post to our account some time next week.

So, don't worry about it if your credit card has not been charged yet. You'll probably have your iPhone 5 before it is.

I just called apple because I have the same status. its been on preparing for shipment since Saturday. They told me they were having some dock issues with some orders, but they are worked out now and ready to go out. bad news is they pushed the date to sept 25th.

I wouldn't put zero stock in what Apple's call centre employees have to say... but pretty close to it. Unless your order status has been changed to the 25th, I'd think you're still likely to get it on Friday.

To everyone worried that they still don't see tracking info... that doesn't mean much.
Last year when I ordered my 4s I didn't see any tracking info until Thursday afternoon when it showed up in Anchorage AK.
From there it bounced around to a few other places and was at my door ~18 hours later.

I ordered at midnight last friday, my CC has been charged, I can see the serial number on my support profile, but at this point I don't have any tracking info. I'm still assuming it's going to show up on Friday.

Yeah that's generally the case. FedEx takes it from Initial to Mephis to sort to whatever closest major city (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, etc)

My order statuse says preparing for shipment, will deliver 09/21 - 09/25. The lady on the phonen told me im in for the 09/25 because of the dock issue. Who should I believe?

I;m in zone 1 too. Ordered 1220am. Mine is prep for shipment but it doesn’t state Delivers 9/21.

My status is Delivers 9/21-9/25 …. did yours change to deliver 9/21?

I think everyone's order that say's 9/21-9/25 will stay that way until we get tracking info. For now we just have to go by whats on the delivery map. I'm in zone 1 too and still have 9/21-9/25 and preparing to ship.

I have read lots of posts about the nano SIMs but I have a few questions. Are the nano SIMs you get free from Apple not carrier-specific? I am thinking of going with Koodo and haven't seen anyone mention them, so I just wanted to see if I could still go to the Apple Store on Friday to pick up a SIM card and then take my phone to Koodo to get it all set up! Thanks!

The question, Is Koodo fully on LTE yet? Last time I heard is they are still testing LTE.
