After checking my serial number, I realized mine were made in last week of Aug and 1st week of sept.
I think those were already been shipped locally (in North America) and ready for distribution prob something Wednesday.
Prob wont receive it by 21st if theres still not shipped update by end of today (Wednesday).

I preordered mine through the Fido.ca website early Friday morning. Got a tracking number by email yesterday.
When I track the package on the UPS website it says it left Concord, ON last night and arrived this morning in Lachine, QC (I'm in Montreal!!) meaning the store will probably receive it today.
Do you guys think I can pick it up from the store right away or will they hold it till Friday??

What if our packages are being delivered via FedEx this time? Someone mentioned in another thread that Apple says they're using both UPS and FedEx. Would explain why we can't track anything at all, maybe.
If you read email from fido yesterday, you can see that the package can be send to the warehouse before to go to the store.
There is 31 packages in my shipment... I don't think all will be for the little fido store where I reserved mine.
Moreover, you have to wait the seller call you.

Look under expedited shipping and since we all have holiday shipping it shoud be FedEx or an affiliate

On a side note, if I bought an iPhone 4 in August 2010, and want to upgrade to the iPhone 5 in September 2012, will my upgrade be free? When I check upgrade eligibility for the 4S, it gives me the early upgrade fee of about $200. I would have thought I would have a free upgrade after 25 months?

I believe Roger's new policy in general won't give you a free upgrade before 30 months.
So woke up this morning with nothing from Apple BUT they have now charged my card. Yesterday I could only see a hold on the card but now the full amount has posted. The date says 9/17. Maybe that's when they shipped it?

Same here Billed on the 17th, four days prior to the 21st. My iPad 3 was also shipped 4 days before release, and made it on release day. Maybe they have been shipped then?
Just checked the credit card statement online.... saw the following this morning.

Mine was on my card as of yesterday (maybe before...1st time i checked was yesterday). Shows as charged on the 14th, so i'm guessing Amex processed it immediately. Still no shipping info...."preparing for shipment" for days now...
