Just got here...but the happiness ended there.

Glaringly visible chip on the glass at the top on the back, and a deformed digitizer bezel below the home button.

The back of my 32GB black/slate - where the Apple logo shiny part is - the "apple" has a scratch on the on the shiny part

Call them and try and get express repair - so you keep your iPhone while they send you a new one. Make sure you don't get charged for it, they waived it for me. And if you have AppleCare+, make sure to emphasize and ask about this NOT counting as an accidental incident since it came defective.

Picked up my preorder iPhone 5 from Future Shop this morning...but the SIM doesn't seem to want to register to Rogers? I phoned their support line and it just says (automated system) that the information can be transferred to my new Nano-SIM online, but they don't specify where...and I can't find it on the website. Any ideas? Right now it just says "No Service" and I really need my phone!

I called UPS and gave them big **** for shifting the "GUARANTEED DELIVERY BY.." If they can keep shifting it, what kind of a guarantee is that??? Anyway, maybe it was because I was upset that the operator was more upfront with me this time. She said that Apple shipped them in bulk so each palette of boxes gets it time set together, not for each individual delivery so some of the iPhones in my palette got delivered before noon, some before 1:30 and the rest by the end of the day today.

She also said that it's likely that because they're so overwhelmed with shipments in downtown Toronto right now, that they're serving businesses first because they close at 5 and then will move to residential. Great! I've been waiting at home since 9am for nothing. Why aren't they just straight forward right away??

So if you're in downtown Toronto and you're in a residence, chill out for a while because your iPhone will likely not arrive before 5pm. Probably closer to 6 or 7.

Check and see if LTE is active in your settings. Also make sure you're in an LTE coverage zone.

Has anyone managed to get a free sim from apple store today ?? My buddy told me now that you must bring your phone as well as the invoice to get one. Anyone can confirm?

I went to the local Rogers store and paid $9.99 for one and went to the Apple store in downtown Toronto and they gave one to me - in and out within 7 minutes!

Took 1 minute to get the SIM card from Apple, but I've now been waiting for 2 hours for Rogers to activate it

I got my Nano sim card transferred within 7-10 minutes

I've had LTE on my "new" iPad since spring. But I think it depends on the actual area of town. I live close to the Leg grounds, and only get 1 bar on my iPad. But it's still smoking fast.

Dang. They're not really responding to my (or anyone's) whinging on Twiter; one can only assume they're getting dogpiled with an onslaught of WHARRRGARRBL

I understand that today is a huge day for activations, but part of me files this under how-could-they-not-have-seen-this-coming

Oh well - guess I'll just fiddle around on wi-fi. Sure am keen to see it on LTE, though...

Depends on carrier...

Bell/Telus/Koodo - Edmonton is currently LTE
Fido/Rogers - October 1st we become LTE

Check the Rogers LTE coverage map and search by postal code. It will say LTE where the 3G symbol is if you're using LTE.

Are you in Toronto? They said drivers dont get back until after 7:30 so chances are you might still get it. I would call them and see where its at they will let you know if it is on a truck or not. Call their number then 2 1 1 to get to a real person.
