Problem is, youve paid full price for a Fido locked phone

Apple.ca=Full price unlocked phone

Rogers told me that they can unlock for $50.00 if you want to.

I got my iPhone 5 from Apple by UPS this morning.

I went to Rogers in the local mall, and they had 2 iPhone 5's 16GB black and white.

I was going to just buy them, but it was going to cost $900.00 approx. So I let them be. Strange.

I got the nano sim, and am waiting all day for my phone to come active. It's still showing no service. I guess it will take a day for their computers to catch up.

it's 5pm and still no phone from apple.ca.... argh.. been on "out for delivery" since 7:30 AM

Vancouver here too... "out for delivery" since 6:11am
I'm more or less done work... just debating if I should stick around the house, or if it's just going to change to "delivery rescheduled" at like 6:30 or something

I havent called yet... but i'm gonna wait a little longer and see if it will clear up. If not i'm gonna call to make sure the server actually took the transfer and didnt take a dump ;)

Also, anyone try the headphones? There not that bad, quite an improvement from the earlier package phones

Headphones aren't bad... but for any audiophile they defiantly don't cut it.

I think it just sucks that we have brand new phones and can't even use them.

For plasticky earbuds they're surprisingly good! I compared them to my Grado SR60, and though the Grados are a lot more detailed and the ear pods have a fuzzier midrange, the gap isn't as big as I expected. Much nicer than the previous ear buds. Not especially comfy, but that might be my ear holes :D

On a different note - I've (finally!) gotten activated, but I seem to be stuck on 3G even though I'm well within the LTE coverage area (Vancouver and Telus). Anyone else in lower mainland having spotty LTE coverage?

Let's all drive around Vancouver and stalk the ups trucks! Then do live updates based on ad clicks, would make a fortune!

well this is great... Fido's teller system is down and i can't even update my sim till tomorrow.

telus user

well i have been lurking on this thread for a week. i have recieved far mor info here than i was able to get from the telus store that took my preorder on the 14th.

i never received an email confirming my purchase nor an email letting me know the 16gb black iphone 5's we ordered were being shipped.

i live in delta,bc & i just received both phones fron ats....so take from this what you will.

I preordered from Telus on the 14th at 3:40PM. Got the credit card confirmation shortly after. Never received the shipping email this morning. But Purolator came just shortly after 1 with my 64GB Black iPhone 5.

Attempted to activate, but with both the website down and unable to get through phone support, decided to walk in store. Those twits wouldn't help me at all. "Sorry, we can't tie up our terminals for online orders." There were 4 of them doing absolutely nothing with no other customers in store!!!!!!!

Went wandering around the mall for Otterbox Commuters. Unfortunately no luck. Has anyone in the Richmond Hill area seen any left for sale?

But am disappointed at the LTE speeds. Only 17Mbps down and 11Mbps up.

Got off the phone with Rogers.

The online SIM changes are taking effect... mine went through. The operator could see that I made the change.

He also sent another "push" signal to my phone, we'll see what that does.

Still the phone says no service, and I was able to talk to him the whole way using the old sim that is inactive according to the records he was able to see, so it seems the servers are just playing catch up.

Honestly, I think if you give it a bit, then you'll be just fine. Unfortunately, right now alot of us have iPods :( It should change soon though.

Have you requested the switch and its just not done?

I went to the store and got the Phone and SIM and made the SIM switch in their systems. The rep told me it would take 30-45 min but its been 4 hours! Problem is, until 10 minutes ago my old SIM was active but now neither the new or old one work! So I have no phone!!! HEEEELLLLLPPP !!!

You powered your new phone all the way off and then back on again, right?

Hahahah, i was walking my dog and i found a truck!! 3 blocks away from my house, lets see how long it takes for him to get here!! I spoke with him, he said they'll be delivering all night, so don't worry about the 7pm deadline.

My phone made it to my place in Calgary around 3:30pm, I went to the apple store around 4:30, got a SIM card for free. One of the last Telus ones apparently. Borrow a laptop in the apple store and transferred my SIM info pretty much instantly. The whole process was super smooth and I'm real happy with my new iPhone! :D

Anyone have success activating their phone via the Telus website? My girlfriend just tried and it appeared to go through, but we are still waiting for the sim to activate. I assume it will take a couple hours.

Does anybody know the latest time that ATS or Purolator deliver at?

It is about 7:37 PM CST here and am wondering if I should just give up waiting for it...
