The CANADIAN iPhone thread.....

whew! Got my iPhone4, stood in line from 6am, was in second in line, Rogers Wireless Store opened at 10am, they had 3 phones :eek: so I was lucky.

Feel bad for those who didn't get one today. Maybe if anyone knows stores who have stock, (highly unlikely now), or that will be getting stock tomorrow or in the next days post it up here. I heard a RogersPlus Store in Kitchener was to get 35 more tomorrow, but I can't confirm that.

It's really hit or miss.

One Rogers store I called said they're not getting any in for a month (I think he wasn't being completely honest), and another said that they might get another delivery this afternoon. These stores are in Toronto.

I already have an iP4, but I'm trying to help my mother get one. She went to a Rogers Store this morning, stood in line for a little while, and the manager came out and said that they only have 3 left. She was 5th in line. No big deal, she didn't wait long, but I told her to get there earlier......

She told me that these two knobs that were 2nd and 3rd in line sold their spots to some obnoxious woman and her bratty kid for $20. Not $20 each.... $20 total. Apparently, they were waiting for 2 hours. Who would wait 2 hours only to sell their spot for 20 bucks?:confused:

I told her the same thing.

The other people in the line were like "WTF, why didn't you guys sell your spots to one of us.... we've been waiting."

I just don't understand why someone would stand in line for 2 hours and give it up for so little money.....
 
I got up today at 5...headed to a Rogers store at Bay & Wellington in Toronto at 6, waited til 7:30 when the rogers employees came and said that they only have 9 and i was 11th in line...so we rushed over to first canadian place...i finally got the counter by 8:45...but Rogers' Early Upgrade was down...so we called...it was expected 45 minutes...but it kept going and going..expecting it any minute...ended up waiting about 3 hours for rogers to pick up the phone and then they said i onyl apply for $400 instead of the $159 which the rogers site said. According to the rules, i should of got the $159. But i already spent 6 hours and i was planning on paying $759 two days before anyways so i took it.. The rogers rep told me to just call customer relations and explain it to them.

Anybody else have this problem? i upgraded in 2008 to 3G, and then to 3Gs within their time frame...
 
waking up early paid off. I didn't think I was going to be eligible for much discount since I'm on a shared plan and have been screwed in the past because of it. Last night I checked my eligibility and said $159 for a new iphone 4 so I set my alarm for 7, lined up in this morning in 10th position to get the 10th of 11 phones available.

Still don't have the phone though since rogers' systems are swamped, I have to pick it up later when it's activated... just like my 3g on launch day...
 
Woke up at 4:30 to goto Wireless Wave at 5:00 that opened up 8. I was the first in line.

They told me I can't HUP even though Fido's Upgrade Eligibility Tool told me I could.

Pretty mad, I walked out of the store, walked to Future Shop waited till 10. They gave me an iPhone 4 at the HUP price and now I'm happy :D
 
I went to Wireless Wave in Oakville Place. I was the fourth person there, arriving at 7am. By 7:15 there were 12 people but Wireless Wave only had 5 phones. Ouch! Got mine and met some nice people while waiting.

Congratulations to all who got one and thanks everyone for an awesome thread! I'll see you all again next year for iPhone 5.
 
What would be the chances of walking into the Eaton Centre right now and getting an iPhone at the Apple/Rogers store with a Rogers subsidy and getting out before the store closes?
 
Wow some of you people.. You can't negotiate with those reps because they don't have access to special plans like retention does. Instead of getting mad at those reps, get mad at Rogers for not given them those privileges. I've worked for Rogers 2 years ago and we had nothing but the plans listed on the site to work with. So shut up and stop bitching cause people like you really pissed me off when I worked there.

I got in line at 8:20 am. The store opened at 10 am. There were only 4 in front of me and only 1 fido/rogers phone with 12 telus iPhones. What's with that!? Now I'm without an iPhone 4 and probably have to wait like 2 months! :mad:
 
Got my iPhone. Walked in at ten. Oh the joys of knowing someone that works at telus. My friend held it for me and bumped me infront of so many people. Wooooo
 
Checked with the rogers store here at my mall.. guy said 4 weeks until next shipment.

I wouldnt brag about that if i was you, A LOT of people spend hours waiting and didnt get one.

Got mine today! Went at 6am and was 11th in line at a Rogers Teleco store. So I got the 11th of 22 iPhones! Loving it so far....

My question is this: how do I go about getting my free bumper??

I'm not joking, seriously. If you have to download an app to order your bumper. Go to apple.com and check it out.
 
Arrived at Square One at 6:05ish in the morning. 2:25, and I've finally got my iPhone 4. Rogers, thank you for creating an extreme nightmare for everyone with your garbage systems. I'm on Bell but left the store with it deactivated. I'll just swap SIM cards when I get home.
