but it appears that the micro-sim has less metallic area than a regular sim, which is why I am confused about how a micro-sim adapter would work. I tried using the larger sim area from the micr-sim card and it didn't work.
That depends on your original SIM, some have the regular larger size area and some have the smaller sized area found on all microsims

Thanks. Just a couple more questions. My cousin will most likely buy the iP4 at the Apple store, can I just walk in to Rogers and ask for one? Or will they only give me one if I buy an iPhone.

Second, do I have to be tied to the acc in order to get the micro sim, or can I just get one no questions asked and set it up online
Just cut your current sim with some scissors or an x-acto knife and put it into the iPhone 4.

FINALLY!!!! got my iPhone 4

Man that was a deadly day. From 10pm to 4pm the next day to get my iPhone 4. I love it though, came home and set up and stuff, damn that thug is fast as hell.

NASA25 and Zach, update me on what happened I have not been following this thread. How did the outcome for you two go? I hope everyone got their phone and was happy. I just did a speed test: 3.2mb/s down and 2.2mb/s up. The up is not bad at all. I'm very happy with those number. Death grip doesn't change anything for me SO FAR. I tested it at home and as we speak right now from my rental. Nothing is going down. I don't trust the bars so I did speed tests with and without death grip. I can say that my upload speed went up. Nothing happened to my download.

Anyway let's hear it hehe

Thanks
AE

Hey AE. What a day brother. 12 long hours.

Got in line at 3am. Number 106 in line. It was 915am when I was able to get into the store. Rogers systems were down at that point.

Rogers rep gave me $25 voucher for wasting hours of my time. Finally at 230 they just called the 2 upgrades in.

Left the store at 310 with 2 new 32gb iPhones. Oh yeah, and I told Rogers not to activate my gfs sim because I obviously had her new phone. What do you know, a couple hours later she calls me from another phone saying that her phone isn't getting service.....ugh.

All in all, quite a day.

How does Bell handle upgrades? Rogers is giving HUPs to people who have signed up less than two months ago.

I came to Bell as an iPhone user in December, what's the deal with discounts?

I think I've read most of this thread, bar the last 24 hours after I missed out at a Rogers store. But so I don't have to troll through it all again can anyone knowledgeable answer me a question.

If I was to have my son, who is in New York this weekend, buy me an unlocked one from the Apple Store would it work exactly the same as buying an unlocked one from the Apple Store in Canada....that is....no issues? I assume that I would then have to go to Rogers for a SIM and to activate it? Or would it come with the SIM at the Apple Store?

Thanks.

They have more today?? I couldn't get one either...will the Eaton Centre have them you think?

I heard they did but lineup must be huge again. The manager at square one said there are enough to serve atleast all the people in line, about 150-200. Check hofo for inventory status via other members. Good luck!

Won't work. Unlocked phones aren't available in America.

what case do you guys have or recommend for the iPhone? I am looking for one right now because mine is naked and i wanna give it some protection.

Help me make my decision:

I have a brand new 32GB locked to Rogers if I want it today, full price. Or do I wait for my online order to ship, 4 weeks at full price but unlocked to a carrier?

I have always had an unlocked Iphone but have never used an international sim due to laziness when I arrive in another country.

I suppose the only reason I want it unlocked is for resale value. I am 1 year into a 2 year contract with Rogers and am not interested in a hup, money is no issue at this point.

Thoughts.......

Has anyone called up Telus rententions yet to try them to offer you the 6GB or at least anything better than the 500MB?

Well guys I finally got my iP4 32GB

What a horror story though. Went to Rogers Eastgate Square at 5:30A.M. I was the 4th in line asides from 3 friends that lined up at 12P.M. the night before. The store opened up at 9A.M. and by the time I got up there Rogers was completely down.

Anyhow they told me it would likely be Monday before they'd be up and running again. Luckly I went back around 2P.M. and was able to walk out with the iP4 in about a half hour.

Wow what a day. I wish they would have given me a $25 coupon for all the mess. Oh well just happy to finally have an iPhone again.

Everyone else who wasn't luck enough...try to be patient and I wish you the best!

Hey Profets and Draz were you guy lucky enough to pick one up yesterday??

If i was buying it full price, I would want it unlocked. Resale value would definitely be MUCH better and it does give you the freedom to change carriers when you want!

Are there any Toronto Rogers stores that would still have some in stock??

And do the Apple stores only sell unlocked ones or can I get the subsidized ones there as well?

If I were you I'd get the full price unlocked. If they're making you pay the full price, screw them~!

goddamn the screen is so beautiful!!! but damn, I'm dying without jailbreak apps like lockinfo and notifier. The signal issue is a non-issue as even with dropping bars everything still seems to work fine...and this is probably the sexiest phone on the market...glass, stainless steel...all in an ice cream sandwich looking form and holy crap is it fast and responsive (coming from 3gs).

if you havent got one yet...the wait is worth it, be patient and you will get yours.

side note: ordered black bumper from the free case program...all the other options in the app were pretty crappy

Hey guys, got my 32gb unlocked iPhone 4 yesterday at Fairview. Love the phone, it's beautiful.

I do have a problem though. I cannot get MMS (picture messaging) working! I've tried sending pictures to friends and they have tried sending them to me and nothing seems to be working!

I'm on the phone with Rogers right now and they don't seem to have an answer.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Are there certain settings that I have to input in order to be able to MMS? Anybody know of a solution?

... and yes, I do have a picture messaging/mms plan, data, text messaging, etc...

I think that the reception issues have a lot to do with Atts garbage network. Even though I can recreate the death grip, my bars drop from 4-5 to 2-3. Still an acceptable range.

Sorry, I don't have any answers to your questions.

What's it like at Fairview? Is there still a huge lineup? Are they selling to walk-ins?

I couldn't tell you what its like at Fairview today, but yesterday I was between #50 to #60 in line and by the time the store opened there were probably about 600+ people behind me in line. Apple store opened at 7am, I got my phone at 9:30am.

I lined up the previous night at 11:30pm, so not terrible. Although if I had of known that it would have taken from 7am to 9:30am for me to get my phone, I would have lined up earlier the previous night.

I have no idea if they are selling to walk-ins. Sorry.
