Lol thanks I was selling them not on the website. ANyways I don't really care about getting a warning or being banned. This site can be a joke at times. I'll tell you what is kind - what people like myself did - purchase only the phone(s) we intended to personally use and left the rest for the other people who wanted one and were willing to spend their time waiting.

One more thing to you while im at it. You my friend can act all you want. If you had enough money for extra an unlocked iPhone and didn't get it then we can talk. It's like what most fools say here. Picture or it didnt happen. In your case proof that you had more money but didn't buy an extra one. Even if you didn't which I doubt, You are still stupid, I mean I stand in line for 15 hours and can't make a profit? What about those that are WILLING to pay extra for an unlocked phone without waiting for 3 weeks or waiting in line? People in dubai, maybe? Everyone standing at fairview yesterday got an iPhone, so I didn't take a piece someone else could have got that day. And If I didn't someone else would have. Its business like I said before.

I deserve to make a profit because I waited so long in line. It's as simple as that. Noone made me wait BUT noone made me only buy one. APPLE allowed TWO, its not like I cheated. I can make a profit, its LEGAL and FAIR.

for all you guys freaking out on the guy selling, chill out. everyone has done this with every thing that there has been a high demand for. look at the xbox360 and ps3. people bought 4 and sold 3 of them for crazy prices.


anyways, there's still lots of people on here. i'm still wondering when fido will get their new batch of ip4's.

Those are the same people that whine when you say soemthing a little tiny negative about their steve jobs or apple in general. Man this is why I don't care about being on this forum. DESERVE is a strong word. You dont deserve to make a profit. Iphone is a privilege to say, and not a RIGHT. you can sell it if you want, but you dont DESERVE to sell it.

and funny you mention, i was in line at square one since 3ish am yesterday and as i was buying a HUP phone a thought did cross my mind that i should've posted on macrumors to ask if someone wanted an unlocked one which i was willing to buy but wanted what i paid in cash that day. Too bad i thought of that too late.

Heck i've even offered my help to some fellow americans if you want to ship it to me and i will ship them to america. Maybe i just dont think profits all the time, but i guess its just me

I agree deserve is a strong word. I can't think of another word. Anyways my point is I waited long enough to allow my self the privilege to sell one. People infront of me butted the line and waited half the time because of their so called "friends". Anyways If I waited half the time or 3-4 hours I wouldn't have bothered, because this is not a worth it but from 10pm to 4pm that definitely gives me the privilege to sell one.

I'm not about to get into a flame war - especially about my personal finances (which I assure you more than allowed me to purchase a second phone) - but thought I would reference the 'stupid' comment.

I didn't line up on Friday - knowing that long lines and an inevitable system failure would lead to 10+ hour waits. Instead I opted to spend the day with my wife and daughter. Instead, I waltzed into SQ1 the next morning and got one after waiting only a couple of hours while my family slept.

So - to me - stupid is spending 15 hours in a line specifically to make a couple of hundred bucks (which really isn't much) rather than doing something more worthwhile. It's called 'opportunity cost' - which is a business term that perhaps someone as business savvy as yourself should learn.

Then again - perhaps you needed the money more than me.... the value you place on your time would suggest so.

yes of course you can sell one and make whatever profit you want, its your phone and you can wish to do whatever you want. Some people just find it "unethical" (including me :p) but i bet a lot of people would do the same and are doing the same. And how long you waited is crazy, i wouldve personally just opted for the next shipment,my time is not worth the profit made by selling this phone to someone.

anyways you are entitled to do whatever you want with your purchase, you paid for it and its yours (atleast you arent grinding it or shooting it for fun). Its a forum, people have different ideologies and views, don't take it too personally

You ended the discussion by adding more to the topic, therefore leaving yourself on top. Opportunity cost, is when you used resources for something and had to forfeit the other in exchange. That day I had nothing to do but wait in line for my own iphone. Instead of leaving the store with 15 hours spent and 159+ tax on a phone, I left the store with 15 hours spend 159 + tax on a phone and 659 + tax for another phone. In exchange, I'm hoping to sell my second phone for a profit that will exceed my spending of 159 +tax, therefore leaving me with 15 hours of my own time spent waiting in line. BTW you are tlaking to an Aerospace Engineer, so tell me about opportunity cost is something I already thought of when waiting in line. This is how we will, we think each step. Anyways I just wanted to clear that and yes If I can make money back, I can put that money twowards paying my 60k + loan and mortgage that I still have from studying.

I do not blame the vultures selling the phone, they have every right to. The real dopes in these transactions are the people buying them. Seriously if you cannot wait a little while longer then whatever.
 
GUYS SHUT UP..lets move on to the topic..anyways there is still stock left in Edmonton. If you are buying it unlocked, you don't have to line up. In out the most 10 mins

i'm trying to find out the same thing.

been doing some searching...some say this thursday a shipment will come in (for friday morning sales maybe), others say the shipment will be in on the 13th.

still looking around. fido stores have no idea on anything then i talked to fido tech support (with my current 3g data issues) and they said that the stores know exactly when they will get the next shipment.

having to wait longer and longer makes me want to buy an ipad more and more. reading books on my 3g is getting to my eyes.

reading books on iphone 4 is also not feasible. Although retina display is awesome, the screen is just too small

I would have done the same thing. If the purchase of a another phone means you dont have to pay for your phone, nothing wrong with that. If some sucker is willing to buy the phone from you for $1000 who is to argue with you.

I do that with my Canucks tickets. I only have time to go a few games now, so I sell the tickets for a profit and that way I can go to my games for free. I am happy because I sold my tickets and get to go to games for free and the guy buying gets to go to the games as the Canucks have been sold out the last 8 years and is impossible to get tickets.

There is nothing wrong in what your are doing. Some people get so overworked for nothing.
 
I did not bother lining up for the iP4 and I called Fido a few times to negotiate a better deal. However I took too long and now I have the deal in place but have to wait for more stock. Oh well, at least I'm happy with the deal I got.
 
Hey, I might try to get the iPhone 4 tom, but I am going to call them before opening.

They open at 10, does that mean they will only take calls after 10, or do Apple stores start taking calls earlier?

Unlocked iPhone 4 settings

I noticed that in the about page in settings on my iPhone 4 the Network appears as Rogers but there is no Line setting like on my 3GS which is locked to Rogers and shows a Network and Line setting to Rogers.

Can anyone who has an unlocked phone confirm this, and any of you with carrier locked phones do you still have a Line status showing your carrier?

BTW this is the best iPhone out there, no problems whatsoever and the 3G reception, at least in my area is better than my 3GS, and especially the upload speeds of 2-3 Mbs. Well worth the 5 hour wait on Friday!

I went this afternoon. No iPhone, nada, not 16GB either.

They have no idea when the next shipment will come. I asked a few employees there.

They said just order online if you want a guarantee.
 
How's the reception on your guy's phone? I'm getting No Service or only 1bar a few times already but that's when I'm at home or at work. When I'm outside I'll get 4 bars on the phone.
 
Never had a No Service problem yet in Toronto, even when doing the death grip with the bare phone no case or protectors.

I've noticed a problem uploading data, it would not upload at all when covering the sweet spot. Download and voice is not effected.

I do notice that the 4 has 1-2 more bars than my 3G
