I think my phone is defective. I am returning it tomorrow. Will try to exchange it.
Terrible proximity sensor issues (hung up on like 5 people today) and the death grip is pretty bad.
Anybody know if Apple Stores have extra stock for these kind of problems (I know they have some in the States usually).

Oh well, I am on vacation for the next month. I wish I could take it with me, but will probably come back and place an order online because I don't want to risk having issues while away.

If you go into a loblaws superstore (specifically at don mills and eglinton) you will get low signal and if you do the death grip long enough, you will get no signal. Also download SBSettings and you can toggle numeric GSM which will show you the db of your signal. I'm at home with 4 bars and my db is -81 after doing the death grip with my finger on that gap on the left bottom of the phone i go down to -101.

I got the iphone 4 at the apple store in the eaton centre today...very happy...well death grip does drop calls but ok with case it seems...but im not happy about the $35 activation fee to do an upgrade with rogers! Its absurd...otherwise love the phone.
So did u guys and gals jailbreak your iP4 yet??

I was about to but read that you lose facetime and MMS. Can't believe how easy they made the jailbreak though!

Yo can safely jailbreak, there is a fix to the FaceTime & MMS problem. So far no problems with jailbreak for me.

awesome. last time i had read about it was yesterday, i guess there was bound to be a fix coming soon for it.
I'm just gonna wait until they include the FaceTime and mms fix in the jailbreak. Don't feel like doing the restore from backup workaround. I do miss mywi though.
On another note, I was messing around with my Rogers online account and noticed that it says that I'm not eligible for another hardware upgrade until June 7th 2014.

All you do is jailbreak normally, then add a source in cydia and it will have only one package install that and you are good to go.

Pacific Centre is apparently sold out, I am going to phone Oakridge once they open at 9:30.
I just got back from the Eaton's Center apple store with an unlocked 32GB phone. The wait was about an hour. They ran out of 16GB phones, but I doubt that there will be any 32GB ones left at this point.
Did they just got a shipment or someone returned?
Because my friend who went yesterday and the day before told me that they were sold out and Applestore couldn't tell them when the next shipment would come.

I was there too and I GOT ONE!!! I was in the "second line" of longshot hopefuls. After they said we probably weren't going to get one, three guys ahead of me left, and I was at the front of the longshot line. They sold the last unit to the last person left in the first line, but I kept waiting until they could confirm that there were no phones left. They went back to check and what they did was look at the phones that had been on hold for more than 24 hours. They took those phones off hold, and they only had one 32 GB, which I snatched up!!! They had a few 16s as well. So it's ironic; the people who got there earlier who may have wanted a 16 GB probably didn't get one, but a few people in the longshot line behind me got one.
I made a few calls on the way home; the call quality is awesome! No deathgrip issues. Now I'm impatiently waiting it to sync from my old phone's backup.

Gahh ! I have a 16GB iPhone 4 still in packaging, I wish they would let me just switch for one of the replacement iPhone 4's they have in the back.
Rogers sux big time!!! I called them the day before the iPhone was out and they told me they would be taking orders over the phone, launch day call Rogers and "sorry sir we aren't doing that" call Bell and they are selling them over the phone and internet and had lots left, so the rep said. I call back Rogers and get nothing but bad attitude and told me to switch to Bell next year after my contract is up!!! so I'll be doing that, maybe just buy out my contract and switch to Bell that way Rogers loses out on money on me. Also, why is it that every time the iPhones come out it crashes Rogers network but all the others (Telus and Bell) don't crash?.
I'm not bitter about not getting an iPhone right away, I can wait, but with the Rogers lies and BS they feed their customers and the crap service they provide like in my area no 3G but both Bell and Telus have 3G here, or attitude from their customer services.

I called the Apple Store in the Eaton Centre and they said to try back tomorrow, i'll call again just before store close to see if they happened to get a shipment today and if not then i'll call again in the morning.
Will keep you posted if I hear anything.
