I already am because I waited in line for 100 minutes at Best Buy to be told they only had one 16 GB Rogers/Fido phone and 12 Telus phones...
I was actually thinking of switching to Telus. And just a quick tip; Telus has a new deal where you get 5 free GB's of data if your bill is over $65 a month. And since my Rogers bill has been around $90 a month with the iPhone. I called and complained and I no longer have to pay the 6GB/$30 fee. They are allowing me to have the 6GB's for free for a year.
You could get your plan cheaper. Just talk to Customer Relations. I was paying almost $90 and now I pay $50+hst and I got a bunch of freebies with it
I currently don't have a cell phone (and of course no contract) and plan on buying an unlocked iPhone closer to the end of this month. I want to play the providers against each other. Is it likely to get any freebies or concessions off the bat or would I have to go for a few months and then talk to retention?

LOL, I upgraded my phone line on Friday for $159. I just checked my eligibility for fun and it still says I can upgrade to an iPhone 4 for $159/$269.

You got yours by calling Rogers and did it over the phone?... they told me they couldn't do that. How did you get them to do this?.
Weird question but I only have one phone at the moment and was curious if it matters if I take the phone to work if my girlfriend has a chance to upgrade. I am guessing it's likely that the Vancouver Apple stores are going to get some stock based on the fact that apparently the other Apple stores have gotten restocked.

They wouldn't need anything unless you plan on getting them to transfer your data to the new phone, but otherwise the phone will no longer be able to accept or place calls as they would all go to the new phone.
I don't need them to do anything; just wanted to be sure they didn't need the SIM or anything (to destroy?).

I got off the ferry and NO cellphone service!!!! I just asked a guy at the hotel restaurant and he told me that Rogers isn't in NFLD!!!! WTF?? Some kind of Aliant/Bell competition BS!!
How can the CRTC let this happen!!

Did you jailbreak? I did the jailbreak yesterday to my old 3GS and see the same line of color above the apple logo when I do a reboot. Not a big deal for me. I just wanted to try the jailbreak to see what the iPhone is like with it. But I did not want to risk it with my new iPhone. Either way just do a restore and see if that solves it.
Yup, it has to do with the way the jailbreak works. Basically, according to @comex, the code is stored in the frame buffer during the boot process, which is why the line appears.
